Komunika Journal of Communication Science and Islamic Dakwah is a media scientific publication that contains articles in the field of communication and the scope of Islamic Dawah. Abstract

Literary work (novel) is one of the concrete manifestations of the human imagination to express thoughts, views, inspiration and convey messages. Storytelling in the novel has a role as a carrier of the journey of a story to make it more interesting. Bringing roles in real life which are then arranged into stories, based on well-structured values ​​to express messages. This study used the Library Research method, which is research by searching data based on pre-existing written works. The research aims to understand how the storytelling and da'wah messages are in the novel Heaven that is not missed 2, by using Teun a Van Djik discourse analysis. The elements of analysis presented by Van Djik are divided into three levels, namely macro structure, super structure and micro structure. These elements are used to obtain a global meaning from a media text. This research is also accompanied by primary sources, namely the novel Heaven that is not missed 2, as well as secondary sources as a complement, namely books, research works, articles, and so on. So that in the end, the research found storytelling that was quite good, seen from the themes that were built in the novel Heaven that was not missed 2. Such as themes about Islam, kinship, experience, humanity, and inspiration. One of the very dominant characteristics of a novel is being able to change the outlook on life or the way of thinking of its readers. The novel is used as a medium for preaching, because basically the activity of preaching changes a person's behavior for the better. It was also found in the research that various da'wah messages in the novel include relationships with God and relationships with humans. Among them, recommendations for doing good, avoiding adultery, maintaining sincerity, recommendations for repentance, the nature of polygamy, covering genitalia, and accepting God's destiny.

Abstract

Character which is a characteristic that is very identical and makes a difference between a person and other humans, character is of course very closely related to a person's character in living his life. Character and communication do have a fairly strong attachment, but along the way there are not a few communication barriers that become obstacles for the parents themselves during the process of forming a child's character. Environmental influences cause various social symptoms that occur in children in Susukan Bojonggede Village. Through a persuasive communication approach in the formation of children's character can be pursued by parents in the process of growth and development. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The data and data sources use primary and secondary data and the validity of the data is through triangulation of sources and triangulation of theory. The reality of persuasive communication that is built between children and parents is due to effective communication through adaptation and a fairly long process, as well as the character building that parents do to children is real because there is a science behind this, including the existence of parenting science which become one of the main foundations for parents in Susukan Bojonggede Village in forming noble character, with interactive communication discipline that builds persuasive communication can be transferred in accordance with their hopes and goals, each parent uses their own way to guide their child. However, in the process of forming children, similar methods are carried out, including maximizing time, and prioritizing children in daily routines by communicating, conducting educational visits, through eating together and indirectly each of them of course instills good values to shape the child's character.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dan menganalisis metode dakwah yang digunakan oleh KH Didin Haphiduddin dalam mendorong kemandirian umat. Selain itu, penelitian ini berupaya mengidentifikasi pesan-pesan dakwah utama yang disampaikan oleh KH Didin Haphiduddin dalam upayanya membangun komunitas Muslim yang mandiri. Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif untuk memperoleh pemahaman mendalam tentang strategi dakwah KH Didin Haphiduddin dan pengaruhnya terhadap pemberdayaan dan kemandirian masyarakat. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan KH Didin Haphiduddin sebagai informan utama, serta melalui observasi langsung terhadap khutbah dan kegiatan dakwahnya. Metode-metode ini memungkinkan peneliti untuk menangkap kerangka konseptual dan penerapan praktis dakwah dalam mempromosikan kemandirian umat. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif, dengan fokus pada pola metode dakwah, penyampaian pesan, dan respons masyarakat. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa konsep kemandirian umat yang dipromosikan oleh KH Didin Haphiduddin bersifat holistik dan tidak terbatas hanya pada pemberdayaan ekonomi. Sebaliknya, dakwah mencakup berbagai dimensi, termasuk penguatan spiritual, pengembangan moral, peningkatan kapasitas intelektual, tanggung jawab sosial, dan kemandirian ekonomi. Metode dakwahnya menekankan integrasi nilai-nilai agama dengan keterampilan hidup praktis, mendorong umat untuk menjadi individu yang proaktif, disiplin, dan sadar sosial. Lebih lanjut, KH Didin Haphiduddin menggunakan pendekatan dakwah yang persuasif dan edukatif yang kontekstual dan responsif terhadap tantangan sosial kontemporer. Melalui metode-metode ini, dakwah berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai media pengajaran agama tetapi juga sebagai katalisator transformasi sosial dan pemberdayaan masyarakat. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa metode dakwah KH Didin Haphiduddin memainkan peran penting dalam mendorong kemandirian umat secara komprehensif dengan menggabungkan bimbingan spiritual dengan strategi praktis untuk pembangunan masyarakat yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi representasi maskulinitas dalam video iklan “Mudah Kaya Raya” dengan memeriksa makna simbolis yang tertanam dalam elemen visual dan naratifnya. Dengan menggunakan kerangka semiotik Roland Barthes, penelitian ini menganalisis tiga tingkat makna: denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Pendekatan ini memungkinkan pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang bagaimana maskulinitas dibangun dan dikomunikasikan melalui adegan, visual, gaya pakaian, dialog, gerak tubuh, dan tanda-tanda simbolis lainnya yang disajikan dalam iklan tersebut. Penelitian ini mengadopsi metode deskriptif kualitatif, yang berfokus pada pengamatan dan interpretasi detail terhadap isi iklan. Data diperoleh dengan menganalisis secara sistematis adegan-adegan terpilih yang secara menonjol menampilkan atribut maskulin. Pada tingkat denotatif, maskulinitas secara eksplisit direpresentasikan melalui indikator visual seperti penampilan pria, pilihan mode, ekspresi wajah, bahasa tubuh, dan peran naratif yang digambarkan dalam video. Pada tingkat konotatif, representasi ini menyampaikan pesan implisit yang berkaitan dengan kepercayaan diri, otoritas, kesuksesan, ketahanan, dan status sosial, yang umumnya dikaitkan dengan cita-cita maskulin. Lebih lanjut, analisis mitologis mengungkapkan bahwa maskulinitas dalam iklan tersebut tidak digambarkan sebagai konsep tunggal atau kaku. Sebaliknya, maskulinitas dibentuk oleh beragam nilai budaya dan konteks sosial, yang mencerminkan variasi identitas maskulin di berbagai wilayah dan tradisi. Iklan tersebut membangun maskulinitas tidak hanya melalui kekuatan fisik atau penampilan, tetapi juga melalui tanggung jawab, etos kerja, pengendalian emosi, kepribadian, dan sikap terhadap peran sosial. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa iklan “Mudah Kaya Raya” memainkan peran penting dalam memperkuat dan menegosiasikan makna sosial maskulinitas. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa iklan berfungsi sebagai media berpengaruh yang mencerminkan dan membentuk konstruksi sosial maskulinitas dalam masyarakat, berkontribusi pada pemahaman budaya yang lebih luas tentang identitas dan representasi gender.

Abstract

This paper conceptualizes Digital Storytelling (DST) in Scince, Technology, Engeneering, Mathematic (STEM) Mathematics as a pedagogical model for strengthening students’ mathematical problem-solving while enabling the communication of Islamic values honesty (ṣidq), responsibility (amānah), cooperation (taʿāwun), and perseverance (ṣabr) within problem-based learning (PBL). The concept paper argues that digital storytelling can function as a “narrative bridge” connecting STEM contexts, mathematical reasoning, and ethical reflection without turning mathematics lessons into moral instruction. The proposed framework positions storytelling as an integrative learning product developed across three cycles: (1) problem framing in authentic STEM situations, (2) modeling and solution development through collaborative mathematical inquiry, and (3) narrative synthesis, where learners produce short digital stories that explain assumptions, justify strategies, and reflect on value-informed decisions and societal impacts. To guide implementation and assessment, the paper outlines design principles for tasks, group roles, and teacher facilitation that promote accountable talk, respectful dialogue, and evidence-based reasoning. It also proposes an assessment approach combining mathematics performance indicators (representation, reasoning, accuracy, and validation) with value-oriented communication indicators (truthfulness in reporting results, responsibility in teamwork, cooperative discourse, and persistence through iterative revision). The paper concludes by highlighting practical implications for curriculum design, classroom assessment rubrics, and teacher professional development in value-integrated STEM education. Future empirical work is recommended to test the model across diverse contexts, compare it with conventional PBL, and examine how narrative features mediate students’ engagement, reasoning quality, and value communication over time.
