Abstract

Anxiety disorder is a mental condition characterized by excessive feelings of fear and worry. Individuals experiencing this disorder may feel anxious almost constantly, which can interfere with their daily lives. Aromatherapy is a therapeutic practice that utilizes essential oils extracted from plant parts—typically through distillation—to enhance physical and emotional well-being. The development of aromatherapy as a treatment can be applied to roll-on formulations due to their convenient and practical use, aligning with public preference. This study aims to evaluate the physical quality and effectiveness of an aromatherapy roll-on preparation containing lime leaf (Citrus aurantifolia) essential oil for relaxation in Angora rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus domesticus). Physical quality assessments included homogeneity test, organoleptic evaluation, pH measurement, user preference test, and skin irritation test. Effectiveness testing was conducted based on varying concentrations (3%, 4%, 5%) and a control group. The collected data were processed using SPSS software, applying a one-way ANOVA. The findings revealed that all preparations were yellow liquids with the distinctive citrus aroma of lime essential oil. Homogeneity and pH tests confirmed that all formulations met the criteria for topical application. In terms of effectiveness, the 5% concentration yielded the most optimal results. Normality and homogeneity tests indicated that all data sets had normal and homogeneous distributions (p>0,05), fulfilling requirements for ANOVA. The ANOVA results showed a significant difference among the five treatment groups (p<0,05). Post Hoc analysis identified a significant difference between the negative control group and all other treatment groups (p<0,05).

Abstract

Free radicals accelerate skin aging and cellular damage. Kersen leaves (Muntingia calabura L.) are known to contain flavonoids, saponins, and tannins with antioxidant potential. This study aimed to formulate a facial serum using ethanolic extract of kersen leaves and evaluate its physical properties and antioxidant activity. The extract was obtained via maceration using 96% ethanol and formulated into three concentrations: 5%, 10%, and 15%. Physical evaluations included organoleptic properties, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, viscosity, and irritation tests. Antioxidant activity was assessed using the DPPH method, with IC₅₀ values as indicators. All formulations met the physical quality standards. The 5% extract formula exhibited the highest antioxidant activity with an IC₅₀ value of 72.22 μg/mL, classified as active. Irritation tests confirmed that all formulations were safe for topical use. These findings support the potential of kersen leaf extract as a natural antioxidant ingredient in cosmetic formulations.

Abstract

Anatomy comprehension is a fundamental component in medical education. Alongside technological developments, innovative learning tools such as the Anatomage Table have been introduced to enhance anatomical visualization skills. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Anatomage Table compared to conventional methods in improving students' anatomical understanding. This quantitative comparative study involved 64 medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Baiturrahmah. Participants were divided into two groups: the Anatomage Table group and the conventional learning group. Pre-test and post-test assessments were used, and data were analyzed using paired t-test and independent t-test. Both groups showed significant improvements in post-test scores (p < 0.001). The Anatomage Table group had a higher mean increase; however, the difference between groups was not statistically significant (p = 0.348). The Anatomage Table effectively improves students' understanding of anatomy but does not show significant superiority over conventional methods. A blended approach may provide optimal educational outcomes.

Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) is a popular leafy vegetable in Indonesia due to its fresh taste and crunchy texture. However, according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, pakcoy productivity has been unstable from 2017 to 2021. This study aims to determine the effect of goat manure, cow manure, and NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of pakcoy plants in Pagerpelah Village, Karangkobar District. The study was conducted from October–January 2025 using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RAKL) with a factorial design consisting of six treatments and four replications. Observed variables included plant height, number of leaves, fresh plant weight, fresh root weight, leaf area, and root length. The results showed that the treatment of 100 g goat manure/polybag (O2) had the most significant effect. Effect on plant height (10.82 cm), number of leaves (8.81), fresh plant weight (130.62 g), fresh root weight (119.25 g), and root length (14.87 cm). Meanwhile, the 4 g NPK fertilizer treatment per polybag (A2 and A1) showed the best effect on leaf area (104.12 cm and 105.62 cm). Thus, applying goat manure and NPK fertilizer in appropriate doses can significantly increase the growth and yield of bok choy.

Abstract

The development of technology has been a major factor behind the growth of e-commerce. The future of e-commerce in Indonesia is promising, with an estimated annual growth rate of 53.23%. By using e-commerce platforms, people can easily search for and select the products they wish to purchase. This convenience makes shopping a favored activity, not only for fulfilling needs and desires but also for influencing compulsive buying behavior. This study was conducted using a quantitative descriptive research methodology. This approach is useful for identifying relationships between two or more variables. The correlation analysis test results show that the calculated t-value is 8.064 with a p-value of <0.05. These research findings indicate that e-commerce platforms significantly influence compulsive buying behavior among housewives in Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The study relies on self-reported data, which may be subject to social desirability bias or inaccurate recall by participants. This study provides empirical evidence on how e-commerce platforms influence compulsive buying behavior, particularly among housewives in Sidenreng Rappang Regency.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of adding chia seeds (Salvia hispanica L.) on the physical and organoleptic quality of pasteurized goat milk, as well as to identify the optimal concentration that remains acceptable to consumers. The research was conducted in Sumeradi Village, Kebumen District, Kebumen Regency, from May to June 2025. The experimental design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and four replications: P0 (0% chia), P1 (1% chia), P2 (2% chia), and P3 (3% chia). The observed parameters included pH and organoleptic attributes (color, aroma, taste, texture, and overall acceptability). The addition of chia seeds decreased the pH of pasteurized goat milk from 6.675 (P0) to 6.3 (P2 and P3), although the values remained within the neutral range. Organoleptic evaluation indicated a decline in scores for color, aroma, taste, texture, and acceptability as the chia concentration increased. The control treatment (P0) consistently received the highest scores across all sensory parameters. Analysis of variance revealed that while some differences among treatments were not statistically significant (p>0.05), a descriptive trend of sensory quality reduction was observed. Chia seeds have potential as a functional additive in pasteurized goat milk; however, their use should be limited. A 1% chia seed concentration (P1) was identified as the optimal level, as it did not significantly compromise quality and remained acceptable to consumers.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of adding chia seeds (Salvia hispanica L.) on the organoleptic quality and pH of pasteurized cow's milk, and to determine the optimal concentration acceptable to consumers. The study was conducted in Sumberadi Village, Kebumen District, Kebumen Regency, from May to June 2025 using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments (0%, 1%, 2%, and 3% chia seeds) and four replications. Parameters tested included color, aroma, taste, texture, preference, and pH. Organoleptic testing was conducted by 20 semi-trained panelists using a four-level hedonic scale. The results indicated descriptive changes in sensory characteristics and pH due to the addition of chia seeds, particularly in color, taste, and texture. However, statistical analysis (ANOVA) showed no significant effect (p > 0.05) on any of the tested parameters. The pH tended to decrease with increasing chia seed concentration, but remained within safe limits. Treatment P0 achieved the highest score, while P1 demonstrated the best texture results, still acceptable to panelists. In conclusion, chia seeds can be added to pasteurized cow's milk at a maximum concentration of 1% to produce a product that maintains functional value without compromising the milk's sensory quality and pH.

Abstract

Acne is a skin problem or infection that generally appears on the face, neck, chest, and back. Acne is caused by the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes. Acne treatments that are often used are topical medications containing synthetic antibiotics. However, the use of these drugs can cause adverse resistance. Another alternative for acne therapy is using natural ingredients. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of coriander seed extract in a spray gel preparation. Flavonoid, terpenoid, saponin and tannin compounds contained in seeds This study is an experimental laboratory study using the disc diffusion method with 5 treatments, namely coriander seed extract with a concentration of carbopol F1 0.1%, F2 0.2%, F3 0.3%, a positive control spray gel brand "X" and a negative control only base without extract. The process of making coriander seed extract is carried out through the maceration method for 3x24 hours with 70% ethanol solvent. The filtrate obtained is then evaporated using a water bath to become a thick extract and continued for making spray gel preparations and antibacterial testing. The results of the research on the spray gel formulation from coriander seed extract showed the organoleptic physical characteristics of F1, F2, F3 were yellowish brown, liquid, and had a distinctive coriander odor. The pH test was 6.46; 6.32; 6.04, the viscosity test was 93.43 cP; 81.10 cP; 78.67 cP, the adhesiveness test of all formulas was stated not to drip for 10 seconds, and the spreadability was 6.01 cm; 5.48 cm; 4.42 cm. In the antibacterial test of the spray gel preparation, the inhibition zone value was obtained, namely F1 5.97 mm, F2 6.05 mm, F3 6.08 mm, and the positive control 10.10 mm. Based on the research of the three formulations, the most optimal spray gel preparation was F2 because it met the requirements of the physical test and antibacterial test.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of information quality delivered through Instagram on purchase intention of Janji Jiwa products, with trust as a mediating variable among Generation Z in Bandar Lampung. Social media, particularly Instagram, serves as a crucial tool in digital marketing strategies, especially in shaping consumer perceptions and purchasing decisions. This research employs a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 143 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that information quality has a significant positive effect on trust, and trust positively affects purchase intention. Furthermore, information quality also directly affects purchase intention while simultaneously influencing it indirectly through trust. This indicates that trust partially mediates the relationship between information quality and purchase intention, where information quality still exerts a direct effect even as trust strengthens the relationship. These findings highligh the importance of delivering relevant and up-to-date information in building trust and encouraging purchase intention among Generation Z consumers.
