Abstract

Pharmacists are healthcare professionals with expertise in the field of pharmacy. Pharmacists play a role not only in drug delivery but also in clinical aspects related to therapy selection, side effect monitoring, and patient and healthcare provider education. Clinical pharmacy services are a crucial aspect in improving the quality of healthcare services in hospitals. This study aims to determine healthcare providers' perceptions of the role of pharmacists in clinical pharmacy services at Sarkies 'Aisyiyah Hospital, Kudus Regency. This study used a quantitative descriptive design with a purposive sampling technique on 90 healthcare provider respondents. The research instrument was tested for validity and reliability, with all items valid (r count > 0.361) and reliable with Cronbach's Alpha values of 0.780 and 0.789. The results showed that the majority of healthcare providers supported pharmacist involvement in medication selection (90%), side effect monitoring (93.3%), and drug interaction monitoring (91.1%). However, only 56.7% of respondents agreed with pharmacist involvement in bedside visits with patients. This indicates a limited understanding of the clinical role of pharmacists. Identified barriers included a lack of cross-professional coordination. Healthcare workers' positive perceptions of the pharmacist's role are crucial and strategic in supporting clinical pharmacy services, both for patients and the hospital environment.

Abstract

SMAN Kabuh offers significant opportunities in education, particularly in innovative and technologically adaptive learning processes. SMAN Kabuh, a state educational institution, has the potential for further development due to its excellent facilities and infrastructure. The short story writing learning process still uses traditional methods that do not utilize IT technology, such as Blogspot, which is easy to create and access for students. To develop students who can write short stories, this process approach prioritizes the writing process in its learning. These stages or processes are implemented to instill the principle of respecting the process undertaken by students until completion of their work. The creative process is more difficult than simply a seemingly effortless process. The stages of the creative process are: preparation, elaboration, illumination, and verification. The methods used in the community service activity, entitled "Mentoring the Creative Process of Writing Short Stories Using Blogspot for Grade XI Students of SMAN Kabuh Jombang," included lectures, discussions, questions and answers, and practice/mentoring. This community service activity successfully improved students' creative writing literacy skills and digital skills through the medium of blogs. Using a creative process approach, students are guided to enjoy and appreciate each stage of short story writing, from planning to publication. Twenty-six students successfully created personal blogs and published their short stories, reflecting the program's success in developing students' imagination, expression, and self-reflection through storytelling. The program also equips teachers with innovative learning strategies, combining technology and creativity, making writing instruction more relevant to current developments.

Abstract

The gel mask preparation containing (Gynura pseudochina) extract was evaluated through physical and irritation tests, including organoleptic observation, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, spreadability, adhesion, drying time, and potential skin irritation. Organoleptic results showed that all formulas had consistent color, odor, and texture, aligning with topical product standards. Homogeneity testing confirmed that the formulations were evenly mixed without visible clumps or phase separation. The pH values ranged between 5 and 6, which are considered safe and comfortable for skin application. The addition of extract affected viscosity levels low to moderate concentrations increased thickness, while higher concentrations led to a decrease due to disruption of the gel matrix structure. Spreadability and adhesion tests indicated that all formulas had appropriate consistency for topical use, allowing ease of application and suitable adherence to the skin. Drying times were consistent across formulas, supporting efficient user experience. Irritation testing revealed no visible reactions on the skin, indicating that all formulas are safe for topical application.

Abstract

Roads play a crucial role in human life. Adequate infrastructure support is essential, one of which is the availability of roads. Road damage can cause significant losses, directly impacting road users. Several road infrastructures in Mataram City are affected by flooding and runoff, such as in the Kekalik area (Jalan Swasembada). The impact on road construction is the deformation of the road surface layer, which leads to a decline in road performance. Therefore, an analysis of the level of pavement structural damage on the studied road sections is necessary using the PCI (Pavement Condition Index) method for several segments, both flooded and unflooded. The PCI method has a value ranging from 0 (severely damaged) to 100 (perfect). Calculating the PCI value involves calculating the density, deductible value (DV), total deductible value (TDV), corrected deductible value (CDV), and PCI value. Based on the research results, the types and average levels of damage on the Swasembada Kekalik Road section from km 0+000 to km 0+300 included: subsidence (6.22%), edge cracks (3.22%), vertical slopes (8.22%), patches (4.25%), potholes (1%), and grain detachment (27.33%). The Pavement Condition Index (PCI) values for each study segment indicate that the average pavement quality of the Swasembada Kekalik Road section is 36.33%, which is considered poor.

Abstract

Anacardium occidentale grows abundantly on Lombok Island and is locally known as jambuk nyebet or cashew nut. Currently, the use of Anacardium occidentale is limited to its cashew fruit. Therefore, other parts, such as the flesh of the pseudo-fruit of Anacardium occidentale, are not utilized and are simply thrown away as waste. However, the flesh of the pseudo-fruit can be processed into shredded meat. Based on this description, this study is necessary to determine the potential use of the pseudo-fruit flesh of cashew (Anacardium occidentale) as shredded meat. Shredded meat of cashew is a type of preserved food made from the flesh of the pseudo-fruit of cashew which is processed in such a way that it resembles fibers, then added with spices and fried. Shredded meat is a snack or ready-to-eat side dish. Shredded floss has dry, crunchy, and savory characteristics.

Abstract

Mental health issues such as anxiety and depression are increasingly prevalent among adolescents. The gut–brain axis has been highlighted as a key pathway through which the gut microbiota may influence mood, behavior, and emotional regulation. To systematically review current scientific literature on the relationship between gut microbiota and adolescent mental health, as well as the potential of dietary interventions. A systematic literature search was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar with keywords including “gut–brain axis,” “microbiota,” “mental health,” “adolescent,” and “nutrition.” Eligible studies were original articles or systematic reviews published in the past ten years, in English, and focused on individuals aged 10–24. A total of 28 articles met the inclusion criteria. Most studies found significant links between gut microbiota composition and psychiatric symptoms such as anxiety and depression. Interventions using probiotics, prebiotics, and traditional fermented foods showed potential in reducing stress and improving emotional well-being. Gut microbiota plays a crucial role in regulating adolescent mental health. Dietary interventions using locally available fermented foods such as tempeh and dadiah may serve as effective preventive strategies.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is a contagious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis that can develop into a chronic disease. Tuberculosis patients who adhere to and regularly take their medication can reduce the risk of therapy failure by 3,76 times compared to tuberculosis patients who do not take their medication regularly. The goal of anti-tuberculosis drug (ATD) therapy is to cure patients, improve productivity, enhance quality of life, and prevent mortality. The occurence of tuberculosis recurrence can reduce the risk of transmission and drug resistance. The method used in this study was an analytical survey with a cross-sectional design. The research data collected were from August 2022 to May 2023. The population in this study were tuberculosis patients at the Rejosari Community Health Center Kudus who were taking anti-tuberculosis drugs (ATD). The sample in this study used the entire population (total sampling), namely 30 patients. The independent variable in this study was knowledge and the dependent variable was medication adherence. The data collection technique used a questionnaire method. The data collected consisted of primary data (data obtained directly from tuberculosis patients, including their knowledge and adherence to anti-tuberculosis medication) and secondary data (medical records and patient medical cards). The data was then computerized through collection, review, and processing. Data analysis was performed using Microsoft Excel with the aid of the frequency distribution table described below. The age characteristics in this study were 3 respondents aged 0-11 years (10.0%), 3 respondents aged 17-25 years (10.0%), 3 respondents aged 26-35 years (10.0%), 6 respondents aged 36-45 years (20.0%), 9 respondents aged 46-55 years (30.0%), and 6 respondents aged 56-65 years (20.0%). The gender characteristics of men were more likely to suffer from pulmonary tuberculosis, namely 17 people (56.7%) compared to the female gender category, namely 13 people (43.3%). Characteristics based on good knowledge were 19 people (63.3%), sufficient knowledge were 6 people (20.0%), and insufficient knowledge were 5 people (16.7%). Characteristics based on adherence to taking OAT were 28 people (93.3%) who were compliant with taking medication and 2 people (6.7%) who were not compliant with taking medication. It can be concluded that of the 30 respondents who were compliant with taking medication, 28 people (93.3%) were compliant with taking medication and only 2 people (6.7%) were non-compliant with taking medication.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of plant growth regulator dosage and soaking duration on the early growth of Entog Kebumen dwarf coconut seedlings. Although this variety has strong potential as a local commodity, it often faces challenges during the germination and early shoot development stages. A factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) was used, involving three plant growth regulator dosages (10, 15, and 20 ml/L) and three soaking durations (1, 2, and 3 hours). The results showed that the treatment combinations did not significantly affect the shoot emergence time or shoot height. In contrast, a high plant growth regulator dose (20 ml/L) tended to inhibit shoot emergence and other vegetative parameters such as stem girth, leaf length, and leaf width, although it increased the number of leaves. The best performance was found in the treatment with 10 ml/L plant growth regulator and 3 hours of soaking (D1W3), which resulted in a shoot emergence time of 23.72 days after soaking, shoot height of 56.62 cm, stem girth of 6.33 cm, 2.27 leaves, leaf length of 39.91 cm, and leaf width of 7.89 cm. Therefore, appropriate plant growth regulator dosage and soaking time are essential to support optimal seedling growth.
