Poverty alleviation is a top priority in regional development. Metro City, as a city in Lampung Province, has implemented various programs and policies to reduce poverty. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of poverty alleviation policies in Metro City using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation of the implementation of flagship programs such as the Family Hope Program (PKH), Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT), and the Productive Economic Enterprise Program (UEP). The results show that although policies have been directed at reducing the burden of life for the poor, policy implementation still faces obstacles such as inaccurate targeting, limited resources, and weak coordination between agencies. Recommendations are directed at strengthening databases, ongoing monitoring, and cross-sectoral synergy.

Abstract

Beyond Use Date (BUD) is the time limit for using a medication after the packaging is opened or after compounding is completed. Public understanding of BUD, especially for topical skin and eye ointments, remains low. This condition may decrease the effectiveness of treatment and increase the risk of side effects. The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of educational media leaflets and videos in improving public knowledge about BUD. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach, involving three groups: leaflet, video, and control. A total of 366 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The educational intervention was conducted over seven days, and knowledge was measured using a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to assess changes in knowledge before and after the intervention, and the Mann-Whitney U Test to compare the effectiveness between media. The results show a significant increase in knowledge after the intervention, particularly in the leaflet group (61.50) and video group (60.50), while the control group shows a decrease (57.85). The Mann-Whitney U Test indicates that leaflets are more effective than videos (p = 0.000), with the highest mean rank found in the leaflet group (138.41). It can be concluded that education using leaflet media is more effective in increasing public knowledge about BUD, as it is easier to understand, can be read repeatedly, and allows direct interaction during health education sessions.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is one of the indirect causes of maternal mortality, where CED in mothers and infants has accounted for 11% of global disease in the world and at least 3.5 million deaths in Asia each year. Severity in pregnant women can be seen from the measurement of upper arm circumference (LILA) which is less than 23.5 cm. SEZ in pregnant women can be caused by an imbalance in nutritional intake between energy and protein that lasts for a long time (chronic) so that the nutrients needed by the body are not fulfilled. Risk factors for the occurrence of SEZ are nutrient intake, infectious diseases, age, parity, pregnancy distance, education, occupation, knowledge and family incomeThis study aims to determine the characteristics of chronic energy deficiency (CHD) in pregnant women patients based on the 3E card at the Belimbing Health Center in 2023. The type of research used is categorical descriptive research with a cross sectional design. The sampling technique uses a type of probability sampling sample which is a simple random sampling technique. The minimum sample in this study was 73 samples. The incidence of SEZ is most prevalent in non-risk age (20-35 years) as many as 68 cases (93.2%), Parity is multiparous as many as 55 cases (75.3%), the last education is secondary level as many as 43 cases (58.9%), and Employment is not working as many as 45 cases (61.6%). The incidence of SEZ in pregnant women mostly occurred at non-risk ages, namely 20-35 years, the incidence of SEZ in pregnant women mostly occurred in multiparous pregnancies, the incidence of SEZ pregnant women mostly with secondary level education (SMA, SMK and SLTA), and most of the incidence of SEZ occurred in pregnant women who did not work.

Abstract

Food security is a condition of food fulfillment for households that includes availability, access, and utilization. This study aims to analyze the influence of household consumption patterns on the level of food security in Riangbao Village, Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with the support of quantitative analysis through multiple linear regression. The sample consisted of 59 households selected using the slovin formula and purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation (primary data), and supported by secondary data from BPS and the village. The results of the research on 59 households found that food security and food insecurity were found in small households (1-3 people), while food insufficiency and food insecurity were found in medium households (4-5 people) and large households (>6 people). The average level of energy consumption was highest in small, medium and large households. The consumption pattern of Riangbao Village community is still dominated by carbohydrate sources with limited food diversity. The regression results show that the variable expenditure on rice, fish, vegetables, fruit and oil has a significant effect on household food security. The variables of income and number of family members did not show a significant effect. This finding indicates that food security is determined more by the composition of food consumption than by economic factors.

Abstract

Skin problems caused by hormones, dead skin cells, clogged pores due to excess oil, and bacterial infections such as Staphylococcus aureus are known as acne. Antibiotics can cause side effects, so natural alternatives such as purple leaf masks are used because of their content of flavonoids, saponins, and tannins with antibacterial properties. Clay masks work by absorbing oil and cleaning pores. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of purple leaf extract clay mask in inhibiting Staphylococcus aureus and its physical characteristics. Formulations include F0 (0%), F1 (20%), F2 (23%), and F3 (26%) with antibacterial testing using disc diffusion methods and physical characteristics. The best physical results are shown by F2 (23%) because the physical quality of the formula is the best. Antibacterial results showed that F3 (26%) had the largest inhibition zone (9.16 mm), followed by F2 (5.76 mm), and F1 (3.9 mm). Purple leaf clay mask shows potential as an antibacterial against Staphylococcus aureus with F2 (23%) considered the best formulation due to its good inhibitory effect and standard-compliant physical properties.

Abstract

The implementation of tracer studies is a strategic instrument in ensuring the quality of vocational education. However, the reality on the ground shows that many institutions, including SMKN 3 Gowa, still face serious obstacles such as low alumni participation, difficulty accessing graduate contact data, and the suboptimal use of tracer study results as a basis for curriculum evaluation. This study aims to describe how tracer studies are managed at SMKN 3 Gowa and identify the inhibiting factors that affect their effectiveness. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study involved the principal, the head of the Special Job Fair (BKK), and alumni as primary data sources through interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. While secondary data were obtained from school documents and the treservokasi.kemendikbud.go.id application. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that tracer study management at SMKN 3 Gowa has been carried out in a structured manner with the support of digital technology, but is still hampered by limited human resources, low alumni participation, and minimal use of data as a basis for strategic policies. This study concludes that although there is a strong commitment to implementing tracer studies, optimizing tracer study management at SMKN 3 Gowa requires strengthening communication strategies, updating alumni databases, and increasing human resource capacity so that it can function optimally as an instrument for evaluating the quality of vocational education.

Abstract

Parental involvement in school activities is a strategic element in building synergy between schools and families to support holistic child growth and development, especially in an integrated Islamic school environment that integrates academic and spiritual values. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of community involvement, especially parental involvement, in school activities at Al-Fatih Integrated Islamic Elementary School, Makassar. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, which were analyzed thematically with the help of software. The results of the study identified two main forms of parental involvement: internal activities, such as Parent Meetings, report card receptions, and the Ramadan Festival, which demonstrate direct and intensive interaction between the school and parents; and external activities, such as Al-Fatih Quran Family and Matapena, which demonstrate the school's efforts to expand the role of parents in supporting character formation and strengthening religious values outside the school environment. These findings indicate that parental involvement at Al-Fatih Integrated Islamic Elementary School, Makassar, is not only administrative, but also substantive and structured, in line with the principles of integrated Islamic education. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions in enriching the discourse on school and parent partnerships, and offers a model of parent involvement that can be adopted by other integrated Islamic schools to improve the quality of education comprehensively.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the education sector has become a necessity in the modern era, especially in supporting the improvement of performance and accountability of educators through the application of information technology. The e-Performance system is present as an important innovation to record, monitor, and evaluate teacher performance more objectively, transparently, and in real-time, but its implementation still faces various challenges in various regions, including in the Vocational High School (SMK) environment which has a higher complexity of tasks compared to public schools. This study aims to identify and analyze the process of using the e-Performance system by teachers at SMKN 3 Gowa, with a focus on teachers' understanding of the system, filling in Employee Performance Targets (SKP) electronically, and implementing digital-based monitoring and evaluation. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type, which allowed researchers to explore experiences, perceptions, and dynamics that occur in field practice in depth, through data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, vice principal for curriculum, and teachers as key informants. The results of the study showed significant variations in the level of teacher understanding of the e-Performance system, where some teachers, especially younger ones, were able to operate the application relatively smoothly, while others, especially older teachers or those with low digital literacy, experienced difficulties in accessing and utilizing important features in the system. Filling out the SKP electronically was identified as a fairly complex process, with many teachers admitting confusion in setting performance targets according to indicators and experiencing technical obstacles that impacted the validity of the input data. In addition, monitoring and evaluation of teacher performance through the e-Performance system at SMKN 3 Gowa has not been optimally utilized due to limited time for school management, technical obstacles such as unstable internet connections, and a low digital data-based work culture within the school environment. These findings confirm that although the e-Performance system has been implemented, its effectiveness in supporting teacher performance management still requires more structured interventions, both in terms of improving teachers' digital competencies, refining the system's technical features, and formulating evidence-based monitoring policies. The contribution of this research lies in enriching the literature related to the implementation of technology-based performance management in vocational schools, especially in the relatively underexplored Eastern Indonesia region, as well as providing practical recommendations for policymakers and schools in formulating strategies to optimize the e-Performance system so that it truly functions as an instrument for improving professionalism and the quality of educational services.
