Abstract

The forms and characteristics of labor disputes occurring in the hotel industry show unique dynamics, in line with the nature of the industry which is labor-intensive, service-based, and highly dependent on customer satisfaction. In general, the dominant forms of disputes include; 1) rights disputes, such as late salary payments, underpayment of overtime, wage deductions without legal basis and neglect of normative rights such as leave and social security, 2) interest disputes, such as disputes regarding the service charge distribution system, changes in working hour policies without workers' consent or demands for increased welfare, 3) layoff disputes, which often occur unilaterally by hotel management for reasons of efficiency or disciplinary violations that are not based on proper legal procedures. The characteristics of labor disputes in the hotel industry include; recurring and structural in nature, especially in terms of wages and working hours, involving unequal power relations between management and workers, which makes internal resolution difficult, often not well documented, because some workers are non-permanent or casual, have a direct impact on the reputation and sustainability of the hotel business, considering the nature of the industry that prioritizes image and service. Thus, it can be said that the resolution of labor disputes in the hotel industry requires a comprehensive approach, not only based on positive law but also considering the sociological conditions of the employment relationship, as well as supporting a resolution mechanism that is fast, fair and maintains the stability of industrial relations. The mechanism for resolving labor disputes through mediation and arbitration in the hotel industry has great potential in preventing the escalation of conflict that can be detrimental to both parties and damage the image of the hotel business. However, its effectiveness is highly dependent on an understanding of the law, a commitment to social dialogue, and the commitment of the parties to resolve the problem peacefully outside the litigation channel.

Abstract

The limited understanding of MSME partners regarding pasteurization technology, particularly better pasteurization equipment, results in poor pasteurization outcomes and frequent spoilage of milk during goat milk production, such as during the milking process, pasteurization, and spoilage of goat milk due to harmful bacteria. Goat milk often spoils due to bacterial contamination and a lack of hygiene during the goat milk production process, making the milk easily damaged and its shelf life very short. and the lack of education regarding dairy product diversification, bookkeeping management, and halal certification are obstacles to the development of MSMEs. The purpose of this service is to provide milk pasteurization machinery, conduct training, and introduce modern milk pasteurization machine technology that can increase the production of goat milk by the Geshine House Partners. This service was carried out as one solution to the problems faced by partners thru training on the use of pasteurization technology, bookkeeping management, PIRT (Home Industry Permit), halal certification, and the provision of milk pasteurization equipment. The activities were conducted thru training on the use of pasteurization technology, business bookkeeping management, and halal certification training. The use of a milk pasteurization machine has improved the quality of goat milk production from Mitra's business, and has made the packaging process easier to maintain shelf life, thus optimizing the productivity of Geshine's house goat milk production.

Abstract

Neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) is a heterogeneous group of neoplasms originating from neuroendocrine cells in the lung. High-grade subtypes such as small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC) and large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) are characterized by rapid growth, early metastasis, and a poor prognosis. Early diagnosis through minimally invasive cytology procedures such as transthoracic needle aspiration – rapid on-site evaluation (TTNA-ROSE) is crucial for management. We report a 54-year-old man, a heavy smoker, who presented with progressive shortness of breath, productive cough, hoarseness, chest pain, and night sweats. A chest radiograph revealed a mediastinal mass. TTNA-ROSE, lymph node FNA, and core biopsy demonstrated typical cytomorphology of NEC with salt-and-pepper chromatin, molding, and background necrosis. Immunocytochemistry revealed synaptophysin positivity in >50% of tumor cells. The patient underwent radiotherapy but experienced clinical deterioration on follow-up. The TTNA-ROSE procedure facilitated the early diagnosis of NEC by assessing sample adequacy and expediting additional testing. Differential diagnoses include thymic SmCC, mediastinal lymphoma, Ewing sarcoma/PNET, metastatic SmCC from other organs, and poorly differentiated NSCLC. Current therapies include platinum-based chemotherapy, immunotherapy (pembrolizumab, nivolumab), somatostatin analogs (octreotide, lanreotide), and targeted therapies such as everolimus. The prognosis for NEC remains poor, with a median survival of 12–18 months in SCLC. This case emphasizes the critical role of TTNA-ROSE and immunocytochemistry in the diagnosis of pulmonary NEC. Early diagnosis and a multidisciplinary approach are necessary to improve patient outcomes.

Abstract

Exogenous ochronosis (EO) is a rare but challenging hyperpigmentation disorder, usually associated with long-term hydroquinone use and chronic sun exposure. Treatment is often difficult, and conventional therapies frequently yield unsatisfactory results. We report a 65-year-old woman with darkened facial skin following prolonged hydroquinone. The patient presented with diffuse bluish-brown hyperpigmentation over the malar and mandibular regions. She was treated exclusively with monthly pico laser therapy. After 10 sessions, a significant clinical improvement was observed, with marked reduction of pigmentation and satisfactory cosmetic outcome, without major side effects. Pico laser delivers ultra-short pulses with high peak power, inducing photoacoustic effects that selectively target melanin without damaging surrounding tissues. In this case, pico laser demonstrated high efficacy in reducing pigmentation in exogenous ochronosis, where other modalities such as topical depigmenting agents or chemical peels are often ineffective. This result suggests pico laser as a promising therapeutic option for difficult-to-treat pigmentary disorders, especially in elderly patients. This case highlights the successful application of pico laser for treating exogenous ochronosis with significant improvement after 10 treatment sessions, underscoring its role as a safe and effective therapeutic option.

Abstract

Body odor problems triggered by the activity of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus are a concern in tropical regions such as Indonesia, which have high temperatures and humidity. Long-term use of synthetic chemical deodorants carries the risk of side effects, so safe and effective natural alternatives are needed. This study aims to formulate and evaluate the physical stability and antibacterial effectiveness of a spray deodorant preparation made from a combination of red betel leaf extract (Piper crocatum Ruiz and Pav.) and starfruit leaf extract (Averrhoa bilimbi L.). The extract was obtained through a maceration method with 70% ethanol as a solvent. This study used a laboratory experimental design with a quantitative approach. The study population was a spray deodorant preparation formulated in four variations: F0 (Negative control), F1 (7.5% red betel leaf + 2.5% starfruit leaf), F2 (5% + 5%), and F3 (2.5% + 7.5%). Physical stability tests included organoleptic tests, pH, displaced volume, and homogeneity. Antibacterial activity test was carried out using the well diffusion method against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923. Data analysis was performed using normality test, homogeneity test, and one-way ANOVA test, and Tukey HSD post-hoc test. The results showed significant differences between treatment groups, but no significant differences between test formulas. All formulas met physical stability standards and showed strong antibacterial activity (inhibition zone 12.1 -14.37 mm). Formula F2 showed the highest inhibition, indicating a synergistic effect of a balanced extract ratio. This study contributes to the development of natural spray deodorant products that are safe, effective, and have the potential to replace synthetic ingredients in pharmaceutical formulations.

Abstract

This study aims to see the influence of the entrepreneurial, environmental and social ecosystems on economic growth with competitiveness variables as moderating variables, this study uses panel data of 65 countries, namely 36 developed countries and 29 developing countries, this sampling is with consideration of countries that have complete data to be studied, from 2016 to 2019. This study was conducted with three models, namely the first by looking at the influence of the entrepreneurial ecosystem on economic growth, the second model looks at its influence when moderated by competitiveness and the third model when mediated by competitiveness and finally looks at the influence of the entrepreneurial ecosystem on competitiveness. The model used is a panel data regression model, with statistical hypothesis testing and Sobel test. Empirical findings reveal that the influence of the entrepreneurial ecosystem on sustainable economic growth is greater in percentage in developed countries compared to developing countries, but conversely the influence of the entrepreneurial ecosystem on competitiveness, the presentation is lower in developed countries than developing countries. However, when competitiveness moderates between these two variables, the presentation is greater in developed countries than developing countries

Abstract

This study explores the construction of meaning of jenang sengkolo as a medium of symbolic communication in the Malam Suro ritual in Uteran Village, Madiun Regency. The tradition of jenang sengkolo is not merely a culinary practice, but a cultural symbol that conveys prayers, hopes, and resistance to misfortune. Employing a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and triangulation with key informants including community elders, cultural figures, and ritual participants. The findings reveal that jenang sengkolo, with its two main colors white and abang (red) symbolizes purification, gratitude, protection from calamities, and closeness to God. Within the framework of symbolic interactionism, the meanings of jenang sengkolo are constructed through social interaction and negotiation across generations, with elders emphasizing its philosophical-spiritual aspects while younger generations tend to view it as cultural identity or tradition. The study concludes that jenang sengkolo functions as a living symbolic medium that strengthens collective identity, social cohesion, and the continuity of Javanese cultural values. Academically, this research enriches cultural communication studies, while practically it provides deeper understanding for younger generations to preserve this tradition as both local wisdom and cultural identity.
