Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development strategy of Pantai Lawata tourism object in Bima City through the Community Based Tourism (CBT) approach. The background of this research is based on the great potential of Pantai Lawata as a leading tourist destination with natural beauty, good accessibility, and diverse local culture, but it has not been optimally managed. The CBT approach was chosen because it emphasizes the empowerment of local communities in the planning, management, and implementation of tourism, so that economic and social benefits can be directly experienced by the local community. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants of this research consist of local government, tourism entrepreneurs, community members, and visitors of Pantai Lawata. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including the stages of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the development strategies of Pantai Lawata through CBT include: enhancing community participation in tourism planning and management, developing nature- and culture-based attractions, improving the quality of amenities and accessibility, implementing digital-based promotion, and strengthening partnerships between the government, community, and private sector. Supporting factors of this strategy are natural beauty, strategic location, and government support. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited supporting facilities, low capacity of local human resources, and suboptimal promotion.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) and cholelithiasis are two conditions with increasing global prevalence. Several studies have indicated a significant association between DM and both the incidence and severity of cholelithiasis, particularly in relation to the number and size of gallstones. Objective: This article aims to review the literature regarding the pathophysiological mechanisms, epidemiological evidence, and morphological characteristics of gallstones in patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods: A literature search was conducted using electronic databases (PubMed, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect) for articles published within the last 10 years, using keywords such as “diabetes mellitus,” “cholelithiasis,” “gallstone size,” and “gallstone number.” Results: DM contributes to gallstone formation through impaired gallbladder motility due to autonomic neuropathy, bile supersaturation from dyslipidemia, and increased mucin expression that enhances cholesterol crystal nucleation. Patients with DM tend to develop multiple and/or larger gallstones, which are closely associated with a higher risk of complications such as cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Conclusion: Diabetes mellitus is strongly associated with an increased incidence and severity of cholelithiasis. Routine gallbladder screening is recommended for diabetic patients, particularly those with poor glycemic control, to prevent serious hepatobiliary complications.

Abstract

A threat to the sustainability of the bridge is flooding, which can cause damage, especially in the form of local erosion of the abutment. Erosion that occurs due to the presence of structures or buildings in the river is known as local erosion. This study aims to determine the maximum depth of local abrasion around the bridge abutment at the time of measured discharge using HEC-RAS software. The object of this research is the dimensions of the Way Billu Bridge with the dimensions of a new bridge after experiencing damage due to flooding on December 9, 2021. The velocity data collection method is carried out using a current meter with an average flow velocity of 0.225 m/s. The calculation of measured discharge using the mean section method resulted in a discharge of 2,413 m3/s. The sedimentation velocity produced from upstream, downstream, and river basins is 0.025 m/s, 0.017 m/s, 0.017 m/s. The results show that the depth of local erosion at the measured discharge is a total erosion depth of 0.08 m.

Abstract

Acne (Acne vulgaris) is a common skin problem, especially among adolescents, with a prevalence reaching 80-85% in Indonesia. One of the main causes of acne is the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes. Acne treatment usually uses synthetic antibiotics, but long-term use can cause side effects and bacterial resistance. Alternative natural treatments are needed to address this problem. Aloe vera is known to have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and cell regeneration-accelerating properties, making it potentially useful in skin care products. The active ingredients of aloe vera, such as anthraquinones, saponins, and flavonoids, are effective in inhibiting the growth of Propionibacterium acnes. Peel-off gel masks were chosen as topical preparations because they are practical, have a cooling effect, and can increase the penetration of active ingredients. This study aims to develop a gel mask formulation with aloe vera extract and test its effectiveness in inhibiting the growth of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria. This study used a laboratory experimental method with a post-test only control group design. The formulas used included various concentrations of aloe vera extract (5%, 10%, and 15%) and a positive control using 1% clindamycin. Evaluation of the preparations included organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, spreadability, adhesion, drying time, and antibacterial activity testing using the disc diffusion method. Antibacterial effectiveness testing was divided into 5 treatment groups. The inhibition zone test against Propionibacterium acnes was conducted to assess the effectiveness of each formulation. The test data were analyzed using the One Way ANOVA statistical method with SPSS 25 software to determine significant differences between groups. Antibacterial testing was conducted by disc diffusion. The results of the study on the aloe vera extract peel-off gel mask formulation showed good organoleptic physical quality, homogeneity, adhesiveness, and drying time of the preparation, while the viscosity and spreadability tests did not meet the requirements, and the pH test on formula F3 did not meet the pH requirements for mouthwash preparations. In the antibacterial activity test of the peel-off gel mask preparation, the inhibition zone values were obtained at F0 2.23 mm; F1 4.8 mm; F2 6 mm; F3 7.2 mm; and the positive control 33.5 mm.

Abstract

This research evaluates how the implementation of a Decision Support System (DSS) can improve good governance and the achievement of WTP in regional finance, with implications for policy design and public resource management. Using a phased mixed design, this study first measures the impact of DSS adoption on budget accuracy, expenditure control, and WTP achievement through panel data in several districts/cities. Furthermore, policy-oriented case analysis was conducted to identify governance mechanisms, data governance practices, and capacity building needs that enable the sustainable use of DSS. Data sources included local government budget reports, Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) audit reports, budget documents, and interviews with stakeholders. Metrics included DSS maturity (level of integration, data quality, analytical coverage), deviation reduction, control strength, and WTP status. The findings show that DSS maturity is positively related to budget deviation reduction and increased alignment between planning and implementation, thereby increasing the chances of achieving WTP. Policy implications include a DSS governance framework; ensuring data interoperability in the regional IT ecosystem; capacity investment; and aligning DSS outputs with the audit process. Limitations relate to data availability and constraints in transferring findings across regional contexts. This paper contributes to the public financial management literature by linking advanced information systems to governance quality and external reporting standards, and offers a roadmap for local governments seeking to improve financial transparency and accountability

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of gadgets on the social development of elementary school children, particularly fifth- and sixth-grade students at SDN 171 Palembang. The background of this research arises from the growing phenomenon of gadget ownership and usage among children. On the one hand, gadgets provide benefits such as enhancing creativity, communication skills, and access to information. On the other hand, they also bring negative effects such as decreased social interaction, tendencies toward individualism, and disciplinary issues. The research applied a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving students, parents, and homeroom teachers. The findings indicate that most students tend to use gadgets more for entertainment than for educational purposes. Regular and supervised gadget use still allows children to remain socially active, while excessive use leads to a decline in direct communication skills, social abilities, and self-control. Various internal, situational, social, and external factors influence how children use gadgets. The conclusion of this study highlights the importance of parental and teacher supervision and guidance to ensure that gadget usage remains limited in duration, directed toward positive purposes, and balanced with social interaction, so that children’s development can remain optimal.
