Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, restrictions on activities directly affected people's lives socially and economically to meet their needs of people's lives, namely by developing aquaponic technology with a fish farming system in buckets (Budikdamber). These activities maximise limited land with various crops and develop fisheries so that the results can be used to meet household food needs independently. This service was conducted for local KKN students online through a zoom meeting on September 13, 2021, with 20 participants. The implementation of aquaponics system activities considers the types of fish and vegetables recommended and the procedures for making budikdamber.

Abstract

Freshwater fish farming is appealing to parents and adolescents, including Madrasah Aliyah Miftahussalam, Banyumas students. However, partners frequently find diseased fish. This exercise seeks to improve partners' awareness of fish health management using natural substances. The method of activities carried out includes coordinating the preparation of activities with partners, compiling modules, implementing activities, and evaluating the results of actions. The implementation of the activities was carried out in 4 stages, namely pre-test, delivery of material, discussion and question-answer, and post-test. The pre-post test data were analyzed using a paired T-test. The activity was declared victorious with an indicator of increasing knowledge and understanding of at least 30%. The data analysis results showed a difference in the average value of the pre-post test with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. These results indicate that service activities have a positive effect on increasing partner knowledge and understanding. The average value obtained at the pre-test was 50, then increased at the post-test to 74.35. The post-test results increased by 48.7% compared to the pre-test. Abstract

Palm tree’s (Arenga pinnata Merr.) sap is the main ingredient for palm sugar. Palm tree’s sap is obtained by tapping the male flowers of palm tree. The sap is rich in sugar thus it is easy to be fermented. Palm farmers in Akelamo Village use soap as a preservation agent to prevent fermentation during the taping and loading period before the sap is cooked. Soap is a non-food product which is unsafe to be used in food product. Based on this fact, the community service program was designed to educate and share information about the danger of non-food preservation agent in food product, and also introduce chitosan as potential natural preservation to prevent fermentation process on palm tree’s sap among the palm farmers in Akelamo Village. There were four activities that had been done, such as discourse about food preservation and chitosan as natural preservation agent, workshop about how to apply chitosan to prevent fermentation during palm tree tapping, workshop about how to make palm sugar, and interactive dialogue with palm farmers. All the activities were done succesfully. The farmers were actively participated in every activity during the program.

Abstract

The work program plan document is a requirement that must be met in the management of legal entities of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). Limited human resources cause the common control of BUMDes legal entities. The minimum competence to prepare a work program plan is understanding management and financial statements (accounting). In contrast, the conditions in the field of village BUM management mostly do not have these competencies, so the direction of legal entities is stopped. Tanjung Batu Subdistrict has 11 Village BUMDes, and 1 Village BUMDes has applied for a legal entity process. The activity focused on mentoring 5 Village BUM that had not yet submitted a legal entity process and was constrained by the work program plan document. The mentoring activity takes 12 hours, divided into three meetings, located at Pondok Tanjung Batu. The activity uses the participatory action research (PAR) method, involving BUMDes administrators and students. Activities are carried out in 3 stages, namely (1) preparation, (2) implementation of activities and (3) evaluation and closing. The results of the BUMDes work program preparation activities are carried out properly so that they are ready to take care of the legal bodies of each BUMDes

Abstract

Indonesia is known as one country with a high diversity of flora. Several plants that grow in Indonesia produce certain compounds as medicines and as the primary raw materials in the pharmaceutical industry. The wealth of natural resources owned should be known by the people of Indonesia and can use them to improve welfare, including maintaining their health. The people of Sukajadi Village, Sungai Rattan District, and Muara Enim Regency need to be informed about the types, benefits, and methods of cultivating medicinal plants and making Live Pharmacies. This knowledge is advantageous to help rural communities overcome health problems with mild symptoms because, during the COVID-19 PANDEMIC, which has been going on for a long time, it turns out to cause concern. People fear contracting the COVID-19 virus, which is very dangerous if they go to hospitals, PUSKESMAS and other health facilities. Knowledge of the types, benefits and availability of live dispensaries in each residential area is expected to help rural communities overcome diseases with only mild symptoms and must continue to seek medical treatment. Medicinal plants are felt to have not been able to overcome the disease, especially for people with serious illnesses.
