Abstract

Islamic boarding schools in the digital and modern era must develop knowledge for students to keep up with the rapid technological advancements, while ensuring that students are nurtured according to their individual intelligences, all within the framework of Islamic teachings. A kyai (Islamic scholar) must understand the diverse intellectual characteristics of students and guide them based on their interests and talents. Traditionally, students in Islamic boarding schools often master only one field of knowledge, such as Fiqh, Hadith, or the Quran. The multiple intelligences research program is one way to create successful students by recognizing that every individual has different types of intelligence. This qualitative research uses a case study approach to explore the implementation of the multiple intelligences program at Al-Aqobah 4 Islamic Boarding School in Diwek, Jombang, specifically in helping students excel in Quran memorization (tahfidz). Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using domain and taxonomic analysis. The findings suggest that the multiple intelligences program can run effectively, helping students find memorization methods that suit their individual tendencies or intelligence types, thereby improving their ability to memorize the Quran more efficiently.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the Nature Learning method in improving the poetry writing skills of 10th grade students at SMAN Modal Bangsa Arun, as well as to determine student participation in poetry learning using this method. This research uses a quantitative method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consists of two groups: the experimental group, which uses the Nature Learning method, and the control group, which uses conventional learning methods. The data analysis technique involves collecting poetry writing skills data through pretest and posttest writing tests, while data on student participation in the experimental group is collected through a questionnaire. Poetry writing skills data are analyzed using a t-test to see if there are significant differences between the two groups, and student participation data is calculated using a formula to obtain results on student participation after the Nature Learning method is applied. The results show that there was a significant improvement in poetry writing skills in the experimental group compared to the control group. This was obtained from the hypothesis test results using a t-test, with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000, which is smaller than the common significance level of 0.05. This indicates that the Nature Learning method has a significant effect on improving poetry writing skills in 10th grade students at SMA Negeri Modal Bangsa Arun. Students who learned through the Nature Learning method showed higher creativity and better sensitivity to the use of language and imagery in poetry.

Abstract

Family, as the primary educational institution, plays a crucial role in shaping individuals, and its harmony is essential for the well-being of all members. This study explores the concept of family education from the perspective of Faqihuddin Abdul Kodir's Manba'ussa'adah, focusing on maintaining family harmony. The research employs library research methods, utilizing two primary sources: Manba'ussa'adah by Faqihuddin Abdul Kodir and Menyelami Telaga Kebahagiaan. Data collection was conducted through documentation, and analysis was carried out using descriptive techniques. The study reveals that the curriculum for happy family education outlined in Manba'ussa'adah emphasizes providing fundamental knowledge to family members, particularly the husband and wife, to guide the family toward happiness. Faqihuddin presents three key stages in achieving family harmony: the first stage focuses on fulfilling basic physiological needs, such as proper nutrition, rest, and sexual fulfillment; the second stage involves establishing good relationships through principles like mutual acceptance (taraadhin), marriage contracts (mistsaqan galidzan), and effective communication (tasyawur); the third stage highlights reproductive health, including hygiene, pregnancy preparation, and joint responsibility in raising children. This framework offers valuable insights into maintaining a harmonious family life, fostering an environment where every member can thrive.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of multicultural education at the Sultan Iskandar Muda Education Foundation High School (YPSIM) in an effort to combat attitudes of interreligious intolerance among students. Multicultural education at YPSIM is implemented through a learning approach that integrates the values of tolerance, respect for diversity and mutual respect. The research methods used were observation, interviews and questionnaires involving school principals, teachers and students as respondents. The research results show that school principals play an active role in formulating policies that support inclusion, provide worship facilities for various religions, and involve the community to strengthen multicultural values. Support from the foundation, diversity of students and staff, and parent participation are strong supporting factors. However, several challenges such as conservative perceptions from outside the school, limited teacher training, and limited facilities hinder the optimal implementation of multicultural education. Overall, this research shows that the implementation of multicultural education at YPSIM contributes to reducing attitudes of interreligious intolerance in schools. This research recommends the implementation of multicultural education in other schools to form tolerant and inclusive student characters.

Abstract

The adoption of e-learning is often deemed essential during emergencies in the Gaza Strip. As a result, Many Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are compelled to transition their classrooms to online delivery. This study, therefore, attempted to investigate the attitudes towards e-learning held by the English Department faculty members at five HEIs in the Gaza Strip-Palestine. The data collection instrument used in this research was the Test of e-Learning Related Attitudes (TeLRA) scale. The collected data were analyzed through means and percentages using SPSS v20 statistical package. The findings show that the participants hold mildly favourable attitudes towards e-learning. It was speculated that lecturers holding mildly favourable attitudes towards e-learning rather than strongly favourable attitudes may be attributed to the lack of training and some other difficulties which may hinder the successful implementation of e-learning in the Gaza Strip HEIs. It is then recommended that training and professional development on e-learning need to be provided to the lecturers in order to raise their awareness of e-learning and its benefits. Further research on lecturers’ attitudes towards e-learning and the difficulties they may encounter while adopting e-learning is essential. Such research may enable lecturers to become aware of their attitudes towards e-learning. It may also help educators and other stakeholders find ways to overcome these difficulties, ultimately supporting the successful implementation of e-learning in the context of the Gaza Strip HEIs.
