FOCUS AND SCOPE Enggang adalah jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Enggang dipilih sebagai nama jurnal ini karena kehidupan masyarakat Kalimantan Tengah tidak jauh dari alam, termasuk kedekatannya pada burung yang bernama enggang. Burung enggang merupakan simbol kebesaran dan kemuliaan suku Dayak di Kalimantan Tengah. Burung enggang juga melambangkan perdamaian dan persatuan, sayapnya yang tebal melambangkan pemimpin yang selalu melindungi rakyatnya. Ekor panjangnya dianggap sebagai tanda kemakmuran rakyat suku Dayak. Kaitannya dengan jurnal ini, tidak lain adalah mengambil makna filosofis kebesaran burung enggang agar jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya ini, nantinya menjadi besar yang akan dikenal secara lokal, nasional, dan internasional. Jurnal Enggang sebagai jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya merupakan salah satu wadah untuk mengumpulkan dan melestarikan kekayaan kita yang tidak ternilai harganya. Tentunya kekayaan yang berhubungan dengan pendidikan bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Jurnal ini hadir untuk siapa saja yang mencintai dan ingin berkarya di bidang pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Selain itu, kami sebagai pengurus jurnal ini bersedia memberikan bimbingan dan pelatihan untuk siapa saja yang ingin maju dan berkompeten dalam hal menulis karya fiksi maupun nonfiksi. Abstract

Management is an inseparable part of a teacher in teaching, because organizing the course of learning is very important, so that the knowledge transferred by the teacher can be digested and understood by students. This study aims to determine teacher management in teaching. This type of research is descriptive qualitative to obtain information about the teacher's management of teaching English at grade 1 elementary school. The results of this study indicate that the teacher's management of teaching is not only transferring the knowledge possessed. Teachers have an important role to understand the character of learners who come from different backgrounds. Teachers can evaluate learning directly or indirectly, learning reflections, daily assessments, midterm and end-of-semester assessments to find out the results of students while learning in class.

Abstract

Inferiority and superiority are part of Alfred Adler's concept of individual psychology. The purpose of this study is to understand more deeply about the forms of inferiority in the aspects of feeling (1) insecure, (2) shyness, (3) withdrawing from the environment (withdrawal), forms of superiority in the aspects of (1) defense ego, (2) confident, (3) patient, (4) idealistic, in the novel Hello Salma by Ersica Febriani. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The data were obtained in the form of facts and then analyzed using the Psychology of Literature approach. Collection techniques namely reading notes, literature study, and corpus. Analysis techniques through the preparation stage, collecting theory, selecting, analyzing, drawing conclusions, and preparing reports. The results of the study show the inferiority of the characters in terms of feelings: (1) insecure including pessimism, lack of confidence experienced by Nathan and Salma. (2) Shyness (shyness), a feeling of anxiety about other people's views of her owned by Rebecca, as well as Salma's silent and awkward attitude. (3) Withdrawing from the environment (withdrawal), feeling uncomfortable, insecure in a social environment, often seen alone, was found in Rebcca. Forms of superiority aspect: (1) Ego defense, maintaining self-image as well as trying to accept Nathan's situation. (2) Confidence, belief in one's own abilities, having a strong drive for achievement that Rebecca feels. (3) Patience, keeping the soul from complaining, patiently accepting fate, not giving up easily that Salma encountered. (4) Idealistic, the idea that becomes the principle of life in accordance with the foundation that is considered perfect by the character Salma.

Abstract

Literary works are in the form of language-based works of art with aesthetic elements. The form of literary works includes the novel, which is a work of fiction that expresses aspects of humanity more broadly. Social interaction is a dynamic social bond involving individuals and groups of people. Social value is a measure or assessment of the appropriateness of behavior in people's lives. This study uses a literary sociology approach to describe forms of interaction and social values. The formulations discussed are (1) cooperation (2) accommodation (3) assimilation (4) competition (5) contradiction (6) conflict (7) affection (8) responsibility (9) harmony in life. The aim of the research is to objectively describe and describe social interactions and values. The method used is descriptive literature. The subject is the novel Bumi by Tere Liye. Data collection techniques (1) reading (2) marking (3) recording (4) data corpus. Abstract

Literary work is the only work of art that can represent the life of the writer and someone else in various forms so that it is related to h Likewise, novels are able to describe the broad and complex reality of human life to offer valuable lessons or morals for their readers. This study aims to describe aspects of the character hierarchy and offer an interpretation of the basic needs for survival of the characters through a literary psychology approach which can be used as an alternative to literary studies. The data source is the Malik & Elsa novel published by PT Transmedia Distributor. The focus of his research is the hierarchy of needs of figures with the theory launched by Maslow, the theory is named Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs t The formulation of the problem discusses physiological needs, a sense of security, belonging and love, and self-esteem. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative. Data collection techniques are reading, analysis and corpus techniques. The results showed that (1) Malik's physiological needs were met when he won the guessing game with Elsa. (2) The safety needs needed by Malik, in financial form. The aspect of feeling secure is fulfilled by working as a porter in the market. (3) Malik needs a love connection, in the form of love and affection from the opposite sex, namely Elsa. The sense of love and belonging between the two characters is fulfilled. However, due to caste differences between the two, they could not unite. (4) The esteem needs of Malik's character continue his college education.

Abstract

The research in this journal aims to identify various factors that influence the lack of teacher discipline at SMP Negeri Walelagama. Based on a qualitative approach with a case study strategy. The results show that there are two vital factors affecting teacher discipline: internal and external factors. Internal factors include a lack of awareness of professional responsibilities and low teacher motivation. External factors include limited infrastructure, such as inadequate teacher housing, unfavorable security conditions, and minimal access to health services. Lack of assertiveness in rule enforcement also contributes to low teacher discipline. These findings suggest that improving discipline requires a holistic approach, including the provision of basic facilities and training programs that can increase teacher motivation. Thus, improving teacher discipline can lead to a more optimal learning environment.

Abstract

This research examines the land conflict that occurred in Depapre, Papua, involving indigenous communities and the local government regarding the construction of a container port. This conflict occurs due to claims of dual ownership of land as well as differences in understanding regarding customary law and national law. Indigenous people consider this land as their ancestral heritage, while the government claims it as state land. The conflict is exacerbated by the absence of an agreement that is considered fair by the community, as well as unclear boundaries of the land used for the project. A qualitative approach with a case study method is used to explore the causes of conflict and efforts to resolve it. The research results show that land conflicts in Depapre are the result of weak social structures and low understanding of customary law and national law. This research emphasizes the importance of cooperation between indigenous peoples and the government to resolve land conflicts fairly and prevent similar conflicts in the future

Abstract

Civic Education (PKn) has a crucial role in character building and awareness of life as a citizen. This research will analyze the effectiveness of Civics Education in the MBKM curriculum framework in Jayapura City. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach method, based on data collected from interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. The results indicate that the implementation of Civics in the MBKM curriculum in Jayapura City still faces various challenges, but also shows significant potential in increasing student participation in civic activities.

Abstract

Civic education is a crucial element in realizing responsible citizenship. In Papua, where there is cultural diversity and complex socio-political challenges, the development of human rights is often hampered. In this context, civic education serves as a foundation that can strengthen understanding and respect for human rights. This article aims to examine the significance of civic education in Papua, emphasizing its impact on human rights awareness and community participation. The research applies a qualitative approach to collect data from various sources, including interviews with educators and human rights activists, as well as document analysis of relevant education policies in Papua.

Abstract

The main objective of the research is to design an effective LKPD through comics in Civic Education (PKn) lessons in class X SMA Negeri 1 Jayapura. R&D is the method used with the ADDIE model. The results obtained showed that the application of comic-based LKPD was able to increase students' motivation and understanding of Civics Education material. Hopefully, this research can contribute to the development of innovative and interesting learning media for students.

Abstract

This journal aims to explore the understanding of nationalism among Papuans, particularly in Yabanda Village, Yaffi District, Keerom Regency. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews and observations. The results revealed that nationalism among Papuans is influenced by various factors, including the history of colonialism, social interaction and economic development. The research also found that while there is love for the Indonesian homeland, there are also feelings of dissatisfaction regarding the marginalization and injustice experienced by Papuans. These findings should provide insights into the dynamics of nationalism in Papua and its contribution to national unity.
