This article discusses the relationship between the amount of Qur'an memorization and Arabic reading skills among students in Islamic educational institutions. Arabic language learning is closely related to activities of reading and understanding the Qur'an, and memorizing the Qur'an not only aims to preserve the authenticity of the revelation but also has the potential to support the mastery of Arabic, particularly in reading skills. Through the memorization process, students become familiar with vocabulary, sentence structures, and correct Arabic pronunciation, which can help improve their Arabic reading ability. This study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The research data were obtained from 26 eleventh-grade students who were selected as the sample using a total sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through documentation to obtain data on the students’ Qur'an memorization and through tests to measure their Arabic reading skills. The data were then analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test with a significance level of 5%. The results show that the correlation coefficient value of 0.811 is greater than the rtable value of 0.388, indicating a strong and positive relationship between the amount of Qur'an memorization and the students’ Arabic reading skills. These findings indicate that the more Qur'an memorization students possess, the better their Arabic reading skills tend to be. Therefore, the Qur'an memorization (tahfiz) program can serve as a supporting factor in improving Arabic reading skills and should continue to be developed and integrated with Arabic language learning in Islamic educational institutions.

This study aims to describe the verbal symbols, non-verbal symbols, and the implications of the symbolic meaning of Pasah Sahawung on Indonesian language learning in vocational schools. The study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic theory. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation of traditional figures and Kaharingan religious leaders. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions based on the relationship between signifiers and signifieds. The results of the study indicate that the verbal symbols in Pasah Sahawung are incantations or ritual utterances that function as a medium of spiritual communication between humans and Ranying Hatala Langit. Non-verbal symbols are reflected in the seven-story building structure and ritual equipment that symbolize the cosmology of the Dayak Ngaju people, respect for ancestors, and the relationship between humans and the spiritual world. The results of the study can be implied in Indonesian language learning, especially the material of local wisdom-based observation report texts in vocational schools so as to improve cultural literacy, interpretative skills, and critical thinking of students.

This study aims to analyze the types of pronunciation difficulties and the internal and external factors influencing the pronunciation abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN Mangarabombang within the context of the KKN educational program. The ability to pronounce English words accurately is an essential component of language learning because it supports effective communication and improves students’ speaking confidence. This research employed a qualitative descriptive case study approach, using participatory observation and in-depth interviews with five students as the primary data collection techniques. The findings reveal that the major pronunciation difficulties stem from phonetic interference from Indonesian, particularly in producing unfamiliar English sounds and applying appropriate word stress, especially in number-related vocabulary. Internally, students tend to focus more on memorizing vocabulary meanings than practicing correct pronunciation, resulting in limited repetition and insufficient pronunciation practice. Externally, although students are passively exposed to English through songs and other media, the lack of interactive learning resources, limited classroom pronunciation activities, and minimal use of English during instruction further contribute to their pronunciation problems. These findings indicate that both linguistic and instructional factors play important roles in shaping students' pronunciation abilities. Therefore, teachers are encouraged to implement more communicative learning strategies, strengthen phoneme and word stress instruction, provide regular pronunciation practice, and utilize engaging learning media to create an interactive learning environment. Such efforts are expected to improve students’ pronunciation accuracy, confidence, and overall English-speaking competence.

Indonesia is a country with a highly complex level of diversity, reflected in the uniqueness of culture found in each region. Culture represents a way of life that develops within society and is passed down from generation to generation through customs, language, art, beliefs, values, and moral principles that shape the identity and characteristics of a community. One form of Javanese cultural heritage is the Sedekah Bumi tradition, which serves as an expression of gratitude for the blessings and abundance provided by the earth. This tradition also symbolizes harmony among humans, nature, and God, and is generally carried out after the harvest season. In Kudus Regency, particularly in Karangmalang Village, the Sedekah Bumi tradition continues to be preserved as an important part of community life. Through agricultural parades and various cultural activities, this tradition strengthens social unity, maintains environmental balance, and conveys philosophical and social meanings. This study aims to examine the cultural values and meanings contained in the Sedekah Bumi tradition as an effort to preserve Javanese cultural richness.

The low participation rate in higher education in Indonesia, particularly in semi-rural areas, is often rooted in information deficits, financing myths, and students' psychological barriers. This study aims to describe the implementation, analyze student responses, and evaluate the effectiveness of the higher education socialization program at SMA Negeri 1 Susukan. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the study involved tenth-grade students, Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers, and Field Experience Practice (PPL) university students as key participants. Data collection was conducted through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, followed by analysis using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results indicate that socialization utilizing a multimodal approach integrating informative exposure, visual media, and role modelling is effective in enhancing students' academic literacy regarding selection pathways (SNBP/SNBT) and KIP Kuliah scholarship opportunities. Affectively, this intervention succeeded in transforming students' perceptions from doubt driven by economic constraints into academic optimism. However, complex variations in responses were identified: the majority of students exhibited a significant increase in motivation, while a segment remained constrained by structural family economic realities and a lack of parental support. The conclusion asserts that socialization is a vital instrument for opening initial horizons but requires sustainable career guidance support and parental involvement to address persistent external barriers.

Cursive handwriting is one of the fundamental skills in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level and plays an important role in students’ cognitive, motor, and affective development. However, over the past few decades, the practice of teaching cursive handwriting has gradually been marginalized due to the dominance of digital technology and shifts in educational paradigms. This article aims to comprehensively examine the urgency of cursive handwriting for elementary school students, particularly in the context of Indonesian language learning and the formation of national identity. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, analyzing various research findings published over the last five years. The results indicate that cursive handwriting contributes positively to the improvement of literacy skills, concentration, fine motor coordination, as well as the development of students’ character and learning discipline. Furthermore, handwriting, including cursive writing, holds symbolic value as part of cultural heritage and national identity that should be preserved amid the ongoing digitalization of education. Therefore, cursive handwriting instruction is not only pedagogically relevant but also strategically important in fostering character development and national identity from an early age.

This article explains and analyzes the influence of Karawitan music on the social–emotional development of children who are members of Marsudi Kagunan Cultural Center, in Sragen and examines the role of the studio in preserving local traditions. The study employs a qualitative method, using interviews and participant observation as the primary data sources. The analysis adopts Alan P. Merriam’s theory of the functions of music, which emphasizes the social, emotional, and communicative roles of music. The findings reveal that active participation in Karawitan positively affects children, particularly by enhancing self-confidence, social skills, emotional regulation, and the development of responsibility and independence. Engagement in traditional activities such as wayang kulit, nyadran, and kenduren also strengthens cultural identity and fosters pride in local heritage. Despite challenges, including declining interest among younger generations and public criticism, Marsudi Kagunan Cultural Center functions as a center for character formation and identity development that supports children’s personal and social growth. This study confirms that traditional arts have significant potential as tools for education, empowerment, and social cohesion, positioning the studio as a model for safeguarding cultural heritage amid modernization.

This study aims to describe teachers' understanding, usage practices, and obstacles in implementing bilingual digital media in learning at Semarang State Islamic Junior High School (MTS). Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through open-ended questionnaires with English and Arabic teachers. The results indicate that teachers understand the function of bilingual digital media as a means to clarify material, strengthen language literacy, and increase student engagement through more contextual bilingual visual and audio presentations. However, its utilization has not been optimal due to limited technological devices and unstable internet connections, making it difficult to use the media consistently. Teachers continue to strive to integrate the media when possible and assess that its use has a positive impact on student motivation, focus, and understanding. These findings indicate that successful implementation of bilingual digital media requires adequate infrastructure support and improved teacher digital literacy. Further research is recommended to examine students' direct experiences, analyze variations in teachers' digital skills, and evaluate the effectiveness of bilingual media in specific subjects to broaden understanding regarding digital media integration in learning at Islamic Junior High Schools.
