Abstract

The earthquake that occurred on September 26 2019 caused considerable damage to residential buildings in Ambon City, Central Maluku District and West Seram. This research was carried out in the villages of Liang, Tulehu and Waai, Salahutu District, Central Maluku Regency, which experienced the most damage, namely 5,406 houses were lightly damaged, 1,483 were moderately damaged, and 866 were heavily damaged. This study examines the characteristics of residential buildings, and analyzes the relationship between the level of damage to residential buildings and the distance from the epicenter. Coordinates and data on the level of damage to residential buildings (slight, moderate, very heavy) were obtained from BPBD Maluku Province, data on building characteristics including building construction, basic building conditions, building materials, building age were collected through field surveys and interviews with building owners based on damage level data building. The results showed that the level of damage to residential buildings was related to age/length, structure/construction, and materials used for building walls. The damage is even more severe if the building is old (> 20 years), the construction is boneless and unbuttoned (only the bricks are stacked), and the brick material is made of sea sand. Meanwhile, houses built with plastered masonry walls are more resistant to earthquakes. There is a relationship between the level of damage to residential buildings and the epicenter, the closer to the epicenter the damage is more severe, while the farther from the epicenter the level of damage is mild to moderate.

Abstract

For teachers, obtaining a bachelor's degree represents an important turning point in their academic careers and is unquestionably a positive step forward. Even while earning a bachelor's degree is an impressive accomplishment, it frequently is not enough to make the most impact on student's lives. Thus, upgrading themselves through enrollment in graduate programs equips them with an advanced technical understanding of their subject matter. The study focused on the trend analysis of admission, enrollment, and completion in the graduate programs of Surigao del Norte State University from SY 2010-2011 to SY 2021-2022. Data were taken from the Registrar's Office. At the same time, the factors contributing to the late and low completion rate in the programs were obtained purposively from sixty (60) respondents; most of them were graduate students who were identified to stop schooling in the semester where they were supposed to write their thesis and dissertation due to lack of funds needed to spend during the writing period of their research. The study revealed a growing trend in the admission, enrollment, and completion rates from SY 2010-2011 to SY 2021-2022. The growing trend is because adequate knowledge and skills can be obtained from enrolling in the graduate program, which could be primarily used in maximizing the teaching-learning process in the classroom by having the students as the recipient of learning. However, there is a low rate in terms of completion, which encouraged the author to recommend to the management to review the existing policies on writing research and improve its learning environment.

Abstract

Words are composed of morphemes. The notion that morphemes are words is not necessarily true. While some single morphemes can function as words, some words have two or more morphemes. Furthermore, it is wrong to consider morphemes to be syllables. In contrast, many words only have one syllable and two morphemes; examples are "cats," "runs," and "barked." Morpheme can be classified as either Free or Bound Morpheme. It applies the Bound Morpheme's restriction, which included eight inflectional affixes. The goal is to determine how pupils use bound morphemes. This study's research tool was acquired through testing. Knowing the sort of error and where it happens helps with testing. The procedures for data analysis were applied by the data analysis methodologies. Counted the Bound Morpheme first. Second, they were divided into groups. Thirdly, the number of frequently occurring terms was counted. Fourthly, determined which word should be chosen and which should not be. Then, based on the total number of words with the ratings Excellent, Good, Fair, and Poor, percentages were calculated. Meanwhile, based on the results of the The student’s ability in implementing the Inflectional Affixes is 38% as a very good category, 25% as a good category, 25% as a fair category, and 12% as a low category in implementing the Inflectional Affixes of Bound Morpheme on the text.
