Abstract

The onset of menstruation is one of the first real changes that teenagers experience. Even though menstruation is a normal, natural process, some women experience discomfort during menstruation, including dysmenorrhea (low back pain), irregular menstruation, or lower abdominal pain. To relieve dysmenorrhea, one of the options is to use methods other than drugs. To relieve the severity of menstrual pain or dysmenorrhea, this research will examine the efficacy of acupressure and ginger drinks, as well as variations in administration and the effects of ginger drinks. This research used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest strategy with two groups. Thirty women aged eighteen to twenty-one years participated in the study (15 in the acupressure group and 15 in the red ginger group). To select the sample, the researcher used a purposive sampling technique. The research results revealed that acupressure, ginger drink, and a combination of the two were effective in alleviating the symptoms of menstrual pain and dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls. However, the effects of ginger drinks and acupressure treatments are not additive. In the Adolescent Girls Age Group

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is still a problem that often occurs in toddlers,Lack of understanding about nutrition and stunting in mothers can increase the risk of stunting. One of the steps that can be taken to reduce cases of stunting is to spread knowledge about stunting evenly to mothers. Objectives: Determine the effect of providing stunting prevention education to mothers of toddlers using the peer support group method on maternal knowledge and children's nutritional status. Methods: This research is included in Quasi Experimental research with a pretest posttest non-equivalent control group design. The research method used is stunting education using the peer support group method. The research population was mothers who had toddlers aged 7-24 months in Benculuk Village, Cluring District, Banyuwangi Regency. Sampling technique. Purposive sampling technique. The sample size was 60 respondents consisting of 30 people in the experimental group and 30 people in the control group. Univariate data analysis using frequency distribution tables, bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test, Mann Whitney test and ordinal regression test. Results: The statistical test results showed a decrease from the intercept only model to the final, namely 27.349 to 10.715 with a difference of 16.630, which means there is a real influence with the presence of the independent variable. If we look at the significance value, there is a significant influence between stunting prevention education using the peer support group method on maternal knowledge and children's nutritional status because the significance value obtained is 0.005 < 0.05. Conclusions: Evaluation after providing education, moreincrease efforts to prevent stunting so that the stunting rate does not increase by consistently providing education about stunting.

Abstract

Back pain, particularly in the lumbosacral region, is a common issue among women in their third trimester of pregnancy. This discomfort tends to become more pronounced as the pregnancy progresses. Without prompt intervention, this condition can lead to persistent pain until postpartum. Endorphin massage and effleurage massage are alternatives to help alleviate back pain in pregnant women during their third trimester. This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of endorphin massage versus effleurage massage in alleviating back pain among women in their third trimester of pregnancy in the working area of the Kembiritan Banyuwangi Health Center in 2023. This study utilizes a pre-experimental methodology, employing a two-group pretest-posttest design. It targets the entire population of third trimester pregnant women suffering from back pain, totaling 99 individuals. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling and resulting in a total of 60 pregnant women who are then divided into two treatment groups, namely group 1 endorphin massage and group 2 effleurage massage then will be tested using the Wilcoxon test and Mann Whitney test. The findings of the study determined using the Wilcoxon test showed a pvalue of < 0.05 both in endorphin massage and effleurage massage which means there is a decrease in pain scales before and after treatment. The Mann Whitney test result found a pvalue of < 0.018 in endorphin massage and a pvalue of < 0.00 in effleurage massage, thus it can be deduced that a difference exists in the reduction of pain levels, and effleurage massage proves to be more efficacious in alleviating back pain among pregnant women in their third trimester. than endorphin massage. Advice for health workers to practice and teach effleurage massage for pregnant women in their third trimester who are dealing with back pain.

Abstract

Hazardous and Toxic Materials are substances, chemical and biological in a single form or mixture, whose properties, concentration, or amount can contaminate, damage, and endanger the environment and health directly or indirectly. Improper storage of Hazardous and Toxic Materials can harm humans and the environment. Blambangan Regional Public Hospital has a Hazardous and Toxic Materials Warehouse used for storing chemicals needed for pharmacy service processes. This study aimed to investigate the Hazardous and Toxic Materials storage in the Hazardous and Toxic Materials Warehouse at Blambangan Regional Public Hospital. This was an observational study using descriptive methods. It was conducted in the Hazardous and Toxic Materials Warehouse of Blambangan Regional Public Hospital during June-July 2023. The results showed that the Hazardous and Toxic Materials storage in the Blambangan Regional Public Hospital Warehouse had Hazardous and Toxic Materials inventory data, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The availability of Hazardous and Toxic Materials safety facilities includes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Hazardous and Toxic Materials signs and symbols, and a spill kit. However, the lack of safety facilities includes Hazardous and Toxic Materials cabinets, body wash stations, and eye wash stations. Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Hazardous and Toxic Materials management are still incomplete, and Hazardous and Toxic Materials emergency handling is not yet well established. This study concludes that the Hazardous and Toxic Materials storage in Blambangan Regional Public Hospital Warehouse does not meet the requirements according to Permenkes No. 66 of 2016, because out of 5 required aspects, only 3 aspects are fulfilled.
