Abstract

Abstract Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) play a vital role in the national economy, but often face challenges in terms of marketing and market reach. Social media offers significant potential as an effective and affordable promotional platform for MSMEs. This community service aims to analyze and demonstrate the strategic role of social media in increasing the visibility and sales of UMKM products. The methods employed include direct training and mentoring for UMKM actors on social media digital marketing strategies, pre- and post-intervention surveys, and sales impact analysis. Findings indicate that consistent and targeted utilization of social media, such as using engaging visuals and active consumer interaction, significantly increases brand awareness and sales volume of UMKM products.

Abstract

The main purpose of implementing the seminar with the theme (satan scammer: online fraud) is to provide education to the people of Olora village to be more aware of various modes of digital fraud. The methods used are Community Education, training, mediation, science and technology simulation, science and technology substitution. The results of the PKM explain that Fraud Mode 1: Taking Advantage of Emotions & Urgency, Fraud Mode II: False Opportunities, Prevention Strategies that can be done include Identity verification: When there is a message asking for confirmation of the request. Make sure that the message is from an official source. This can be seen from the check mark symbol in the upper right corner of the sender and use a strong and unique password: Use a strong password that is not easily guessed by anyone. The conclusion in dealing with the many online frauds today, we as young people must be more active in finding out tricks so as not to get caught in this online fraud, so that by knowing we can anticipate and fortify our parents so that they are not tempted by all forms of online fraud.

Abstract

Training on digital-based marketing strategies for agricultural products was conducted in response to the challenges of marketing agricultural products in the increasingly competitive digital era. Many agricultural businesses still face limited knowledge and skills in utilizing digital technology to market their products more widely and efficiently. The objective of this training was to increase participants' capacity in understanding digital marketing concepts, promotional techniques through social media, the use of marketplaces, and agricultural product branding strategies to increase consumer awareness. The training method included theoretical material, case studies, simulations of digital platform use, and interactive question-and-answer sessions. The training participants included farmers, farmer groups, and agribusinesses. The results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of digital marketing strategies, with most participants feeling more confident in starting to market their products through online platforms. Furthermore, this training also encouraged participants to be more creative in creating attractive promotional content that aligns with the characteristics of the agricultural products being sold. Therefore, this training is expected to be the first step in strengthening the competitiveness of agricultural products in the modern market and contributing to increasing the income and welfare of agricultural businesses.

Abstract

The transition to digital approaches in church ministry has become imperative due to the swift advancement of information technology. This community engagement initiative was designed to strengthen the digital skills of HKBP ministry personnel in District XII Tanah Alas through structured training and intensive guidance. The program was executed through interactive presentations, focus group discussions (FGD), practical simulations involving digital tools, and evaluations conducted before and after the activities. Findings revealed that participants’ baseline digital capabilities were generally at a low to moderate level, yet experienced notable improvement following the intervention. Church staff began to exhibit proficiency in embedding digital technologies into everyday ministry, including using Zoom for virtual worship, leveraging social media for church-related communication, and employing applications for managing congregation data. The participants’ active involvement demonstrated their eagerness for a ministry model that is both adaptive and contextually grounded. This initiative further emphasized the long-term promise of digitalization in addressing geographical barriers and broadening the scope of church outreach. Sustained progress requires ongoing training and institutional backing to maintain relevance and coherence throughout the transformation journey. In conclusion, this initiative marks a foundational step for HKBP in cultivating a digitally-driven ministry ecosystem anchored in theological principles and cultural heritage.

Abstract

This Cross Cultural Understanding activity is part of a Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat or PKM) aimed at introducing the local culture of Medan City to students and lecturers from Praha-Suchdol, Czech Republic, through collaboration with the English Literature and Music Arts Study Programs of Universitas HKBP Nommensen. This activity was designed as an effort to strengthen intercultural understanding, enhance appreciation of diversity, and foster academic and cultural relations between countries. The implementation method involved direct visits to two main cultural sites—Istana Maimun and Velangkanni Church—with local students actively serving as cultural guides. The results of the activity showed meaningful educational interactions, where international participants gained firsthand insights into Indonesian culture, while local students developed intercultural communication skills and a deeper sense of pride in their cultural identity. This program demonstrates that cultural introduction through direct experience can be an effective strategy for building tolerance and sustainable international collaboration.

Abstract

Abstract Bullying in elementary schools is a serious issue that can negatively impact children's development. This study aims to explore the use of interactive digital media, specifically Edpuzzle, as a preventive measure against bullying by enhancing language politeness. Conducted at SD Negeri 162107 Tebing Tinggi, this research involved training teachers in the use of Edpuzzle to deliver material on language politeness. The method employed was the creation of interactive videos that educate students about the importance of polite language and the impacts of bullying. The training results showed an increase in teachers' understanding of using Edpuzzle, as well as a high interest from students in the material presented. The interactions that occurred during the learning process created a positive classroom atmosphere, thereby reducing the potential for bullying. The conclusion of this study indicates that Edpuzzle is effective in raising awareness of language politeness among students. It is recommended that schools continue to integrate technology into learning and conduct further socialization regarding the importance of language politeness to prevent bullying.
