Abstract

AbstractOne sector of non-timber forest products (NTFPs) that is a favorite in the national and international markets is beekeeping. The main products from beekeeping are honey, royal jelly and bee pollen. The aim of this research is to determine the types of plant sources of food for honey bees, the density, frequency, importance index of each type of plant source of food for honey bees and the diversity of plant sources of food for honey bees based on their habitus in Buana Sakti Village. This research uses a centralized circle method which is placed systematically, with sample plots made in the form of a circle covering an area of 0.05 ha with a radius of 12.6 m, the sampling intensity used is 0.52%, so the observed sample area is 0.8 Ha. Based on the research results, it is known that there are 43 types of plants, 37 types of which are food sources for honey bees consisting of plantation plants, agricultural plants, ornamental plants, forestry plants and grass. The habitus of the 43 types of plants consists of 22 types of trees, 6 types of shrubs, 2 types of lianas and 13 types of herbs. Corn (Zea mays) is the type of plant that has the largest density, namely 225 individuals/ha, while the largest frequency value is owned by the plant species, Mimosa pudica, which is 0.563. The highest level of species control for the type of forestry plant that feeds honey bees (Apis cerana) is owned by mangium (Acacia mangium) with an INP of 15.302%. Meanwhile, for agricultural crops as a food source for honey bees, the highest level of species control is owned by corn with an INP of 17.686%.

Abstract

The Sungai Merah Protection Forest is close to community settlements. As the population increases, the need for arable land will also increase, so that many people cultivate protected forests into arable land in the form of plantations. On this basis, through the NTFP development program with a community empowerment pattern, it is hoped that protected forests can provide social and economic functions for the community while still paying attention to their ecological functions. In preparing the NTFP development program it is not yet known and there is no data on potential NTFPs that can be developed. This study aims to inventory and identify the types of each non-timber forest product species recorded (classification and nomenclature, morphological characteristics and the beneficial value of the species) of non-timber forest products (HHBK) in the Sungai Merah Protection Forest. The sampling method was carried out by purposive sampling. The selection of samples is based on classification or cluster based on the classification of land cover types resulting from the interpretation of images using GIS software. The sampling intensity to be used is 0.1%. The plot size to be used refers to the guidelines for surveying natural forests and community cultivated plants, namely a plot area of 0.1 ha with a rectangular plot shape (20x50) meters. Rectangular plot shape 20 x 50 m (0.1 ha). the results of data analysis on NTFP secondary forest were dominated by shuji plants, the highest Relative Density (KR), Relative Frequency (FR) and Importance Value Index (INP), namely 28.72%, 20.14% and 48.86 respectively %., while the plantation area was dominated by rubber plants with density, frequency, and dominance of 80.00, 0.25, and 18003.10. This shows the important role of these plants in the protected forest area of the Red River.

Abstract

Birds need habitat conditions that are suitable and safe from all kinds of disturbances, which can be an important factor in the presence of birds in a place. The aim of this research is to analyze the diversity of bird species and the factors that influence the existence of bird species in the Sriwijaya Royal Archaeological Park, Palembang. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive data taken using the "point count" or IPA (Index Point of Abundance) method, namely by recording the number of bird populations and then processing the data to determine the species richness index, species diversity index and species evenness index. The research results obtained by the richness of bird species in the Sriwijaya Royal Archaeological Park include high criteria. This is shown by the results of calculating the bird richness index which obtained an average value of R index > 5.0, which is included in the high criteria and the species evenness index in each transect is low. , because it is less than <0.3. The diversity of bird species in the Sriwijaya Royal Archaeological Park is relatively low. This is caused by trees that grow less densely, making the availability of food for birds insufficient. Apart from that, the factors that influence this are the distribution of species, dominance, limiting factors, competition, and the presence of predators and a supportive environment so that some species can spread in the area. The factor that influences bird species in the Sriwijaya Royal Archaeological Park, Palembang City, is land cover.
