Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand how to develop an innovative creative approach to enhancing entrepreneurial spirit and to assess the effectiveness of this approach in improving entrepreneurial spirit. The background of this study is based on the fact that entrepreneurship education implemented so far has only emphasized the cognitive aspect. In addition, the low interest of students in participating in the Creative Entrepreneurship Workshop on Developing Innovative Business Ideas among Students also indicates that students' entrepreneurial spirit is lacking. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Four D model, which includes define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data collection in this study was conducted using a questionnaire. The data analysis techniques employed were qualitative descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis using the independent sample t-test. The results of this study are: 1) The development of an innovative creative approach to improving entrepreneurial spirit is carried out using the four Ds: define, design, develop, and disseminate; 2) The innovative creative approach is very effective in improving entrepreneurial spirit. Entrepreneurship plays a significant role in driving a country's economy. Entrepreneurs not only create jobs for the community but also enhance productivity through innovation. They are the main drivers of economic transformation, bringing new ideas to the market and creating added value. In this context, the younger generation, especially students, stands out as a great potential source for developing entrepreneurship. They tend to have high enthusiasm, abundant creativity, and strong innovative capabilities, which are vital assets in the business world.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of a free polio vaccination program in RW 05, Cilandak Subdistrict, with a focus on analyzing factors influencing community participation rates. The research employed an exploratory qualitative approach, with data collected through: (1) in-depth discussions with 18 caregivers of toddlers, (2) direct observation of 5 healthcare workers during program implementation, and (3) analysis of supporting documents. The evaluation results indicated a significant increase in vaccination coverage, from 65% in the previous year to 82% during the study period. This success was primarily supported by: (1) active data collection by local health cadres, (2) evidence-based visual communication strategies, and (3) a personalized approach in community education. Identified challenges included: (1) concerns about side effects (reported by 37% of respondents), (2) limited healthcare infrastructure, and (3) community-level misconceptions. A critical finding revealed that individual counseling approaches successfully improved vaccine acceptance in 60% of initially hesitant cases. The study recommends: (1) strengthening the capacity of cadres in health risk communication, (2) optimizing family-based information systems, and (3) innovating service models that are adaptive to the needs of working communities.

Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women worldwide. Early detection through Breast Self-Examination (SADARI) is an important step in efforts to reduce the death rate due to this cancer. Indonesian working women in Japan, most of whom work in the manufacturing and care sectors, face significant health challenges, including low levels of awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer. This community service activity aims to increase the awareness and knowledge of Indonesian women workers in Japan about breast cancer and the SADARI technique as a preventive effort. This activity was carried out through health education held at the Chiba Islamic Cultural Center (CICC), Japan, involving 29 mothers from the Indonesian community. The results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge about breast cancer, risk factors, and SADARI techniques. It is hoped that education about breast cancer and early detection through SADARI can continue to be introduced to Indonesian communities abroad, in order to increase women's empowerment and breast cancer prevention.

Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in women and is the leading cause of cancer death in women in various parts of the world. Early detection is a crucial step in increasing the success of treatment and reducing mortality rates. One easy-to-do early detection method is Breast Self-Examination (BSE), which is an examination carried out independently, regularly, and systematically by every woman to find abnormalities or lumps in the breasts from an early stage. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to increase the understanding of mothers and young women about the importance of early detection of breast cancer through the BSE method. The activity was carried out in Pengaingan Hamlet, Bangkalan District, involving participants from among students of Madrasah Diniyah Al Munawaroh and local mothers. The methods used included interactive counseling, BSE demonstrations, and question and answer sessions. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge about breast cancer and their ability to perform BSE independently. It is hoped that this activity can encourage healthy living behavior and awareness of the importance of early detection as a preventive measure against breast cancer.

Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are essential contributors to economic development, especially in emerging countries. However, many SMEs lack the necessary knowledge and tools to manage their finances effectively, particularly through standardized and digital approaches. This community engagement initiative seeks to enhance the digital financial literacy of SMEs through a cross-border collaboration between State University of Jakarta (Indonesia) and University Malaysia Sabah. The program introduced a structured empowerment framework that integrates SME accounting standards—particularly Indonesia’s SAK EMKM—with financial technology applications to support accurate and timely financial reporting. The activities included virtual training and mentoring on financial literacy, the use of cloud-based accounting tools, and simplified financial reporting procedures. Evaluation results showed significant improvement in participants’ ability to record transactions, prepare basic financial statements, and use digital accounting tools independently. This project demonstrates that integrating localized SME standards with financial technology can strengthen SME resilience, promote innovation, and contribute to Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).

Abstract

Toddlerhood is one of the critical phases for human growth and development. In the toddler period, a very rapid growth and development will affect the next life, and the continuity of growth and development of toddlers is affected by nutritional status. The nutritional status of toddlers is the nutritional condition of children aged 0-59 months determined by anthropometric methods, based on the index of Body Weight according to Age (BB / U), and Body Weight according to Height (BB / TB) (Izwardy, 2019).   This community service activity aims to exemplify to parents how to meet nutritional needs, one of which is by giving catfish nuggets, and how to "fall rice in paud kana" self-monitoring of growth and development in paud kana. This activity was carried out at PAUD Kana in West Bandung and involved children, parents, and school stakeholders. Patin fish nuggets are made from natural ingredients such as catfish, eggs, panir flour, pepper, onion, salt, and sugar, and are rich in protein to support children's health and growth. Nutrition education and demonstration on making fish nuggets were also provided to parents. The results of the activity showed that catfish nuggets not only attracted children, but also effectively increased their appetite. Through the nutrition education session and demonstration of making catfish nuggets, parents gained essential insights on providing healthy and nutritious food. This activity provides a practical solution to the problem of feeding difficulties in children and motivates families to adopt healthier eating habits. Catfish nuggets are an effective and easy-to-implement alternative to increase the appetite of toddlers, and support their optimal growth and development.
