Abstract

The Tangerang Regency Housing, Settlement and Cemetery Service (DPPP) supports regional performance achievements in improving environmental management for sustainable development, especially in the residential infrastructure sector. The 2024 RTLH Program, still the Tangerang Regency's Leading Program in the Sub-districts, aims to help people living in houses whose conditions do not meet health and safety standards. The impact of RLTH on residents/recipients of assistance includes social and economic effects. The role of all parties is vital, and the community's increased participation in the successful development that has been implemented can be felt by the community in developing Tangerang Regency. One of the roles in the success of the RTLH program in Tangerang Regency is the Field Facilitator (TFL), who collaborates with experts, both technical and empowerment, and the RTLH Community Forum (Formas) to improve RTLH development. TFL assistance and evaluation are for DPPP recommendations on TFL performance. The method of implementing evaluation activities uses several techniques, namely observation, interviews, discussions, written tests and documentation. From the evaluation results carried out by experts and representatives of the Tangerang Regency DPPP, it was found that 4 (four) TFL workers out of 23 TFLs were absent and received the lowest score. TFLs who are absent are deemed not to have committed to carrying out the duties and responsibilities that have been determined and agreed upon.

Abstract

Parents significantly influence the growth and development of early childhood, particularly during the "golden age." Parenting styles significantly shape children's physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. This study analyzes the role of parents in the education, care, protection, and health of children using action research and literature study methods. The survey results indicate that good parenting patterns, balanced nutrition, and positive interactions support optimal child development. However, limited knowledge and resources are challenges. Therefore, parents must receive education on PKM (Community Service) activities or socialization of smart parenting, both offered at Paud Raudotul Islamiah, to provide care conducive to their children's optimal development.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in women worldwide. The main cause of cervical cancer is infection with oncogenic types of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), especially types 16 and 18. Early detection through methods such as Pap smear, IVA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid), and HPV DNA testing is very important to identify precancerous lesions before they develop into invasive cancer. Public education about cervical cancer prevention, including HPV vaccination, routine screening, and a healthy lifestyle, is a strategic step to reduce the incidence and mortality due to this disease. This community service program aims to increase public awareness of the importance of early detection and prevention of cervical cancer through a structured educational approach. Thus, it is hoped that a community can be created that is more aware of reproductive health and is able to take preventive measures against cervical cancer. Objective: to increase public understanding and knowledge about early detection of cervical cancer and its prevention. Method: Community service is carried out by providing education to the public about early detection of cervical cancer and its prevention. Results: The activity was carried out on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at PKM Chiba, Japan. Twenty-nine people attended community service activities. Educational activities were carried out from preparation to evaluation. The materials provided included early detection and prevention of cervical cancer. Abstract

Menopause and premenopause are natural transition phases experienced by women with significant hormonal changes. This condition is often accompanied by symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep disturbances, mood swings, and an increased risk of osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease. This community service program aims to provide comprehensive knowledge and solutions in dealing with hormonal disorders in premenopausal and menopausal women through educational approaches, non-pharmacological therapies (complementary therapies), and lifestyle changes. The methods used in this activity are the preparation and submission of proposals, counselling, questions and answers, evaluations and door prizes. The materials provided include health seminars, healthy lifestyle training, and medical consultations involving health professionals. The results of the program showed that participants had increased knowledge about menopause and how to cope with hormonal changes in non-pharmacological ways (complementary therapy). In conclusion, multidisciplinary approaches in complementary lifestyle and parenting education and interventions can help women better manage menopausal symptoms, improve quality of life, and reduce the negative impact of hormonal changes that occur. Therefore, it is important to continue to develop similar programs to help more women cope with this transition optimally.

Abstract

Many community members do not know enough about herbs' benefits and how to use them properly, which often leads to distrust of their effectiveness as an alternative treatment. The habit of consuming modern medicines is more dominant than herbs. This is triggered by the perception that modern medicine provides results faster. Limited access to information about the types of herbs and their benefits and restricted access to quality herbal products in some areas. In 2024, 56 PCIM members studied in Thailand, and around 130 Indonesian students studied internationally at Khoen Kaen University (KKU). Around 40% of these students experienced physical complaints such as colds, nausea, vomiting and dizziness due to physical conditions, weather and other factors. The use of herbs/herbal medicine to maintain health and treat various diseases has been passed down from generation to generation. This legacy is expected to continue to be utilized by the younger generation, especially international students, as an alternative to increase endurance and overcome physical complaints. Indonesia and Thailand have similarities in using herbs as medicine, including ginger, melon, nutmeg, cinnamon, chilli, cloves, galangal, lemongrass, honey, and others. Community service was implemented in Mueang District, Khon Kaen, Thailand, on August 28, 2024, with 20 participants. After counselling and practice in making herbal drinks, participants learned the types, benefits and processing of spices to make herbal drinks that can be used as safe and effective alternative medicine.

Abstract

Development in the industrial sector on the one hand will produce goods and services that are beneficial for the welfare of the people, and on the other hand, industrial activities will produce waste. The problem of industrial waste is increasingly worrying, especially the waste produced generally contains toxic and hazardous chemicals. One of them is waste containing heavy metals. This community research aims to assist in the evaluation of the electroplating liquid waste processing process at UMKM CV. XYZ with parameters of Cr, Zn, Cd, CN-, total suspended solids (TSS) and acidity values (pH). The method used is to apply SK. MENLH. No. KEP-51 / MENLH / 10/1995, if the waste is directly disposed of into the environment it will cause pollution to other living things. Therefore, the process of reducing the concentration of metals is carried out by neutralization and coagulation, so that the metals that are discharged are in accordance with the quality standard. The results of the application concluded that the inlet concentration of chromium metal was 0.48 µg/L, zinc 1.83 mg/L, cyanide compound 0.02 mg/L, total suspended solids (TSS) 195.3 and the degree of acidity (pH) 10.6 and decreased to chromium metal 0.19 µg/L, zinc 1.48 mg/L, cyanide compound 0.0043 mg/L, total suspended solids (TSS) 52.6 and the degree of acidity (pH) 9 at the outlet that is discharged into the environment. So that the efficiency level of each parameter is obtained: TSS 73.11%, pH 12.36%, chromium metal 43.75%, zinc 19.13% and cyanide compound 78.5%.
