Abstract

 This research is based on low, medium and high problem solving abilities to solve contextual problems. Researchers used a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze the problem solving abilities of SMP Negeri 34 Medan class VIII using rectangular material. The next data collection technique is interviews. The test was carried out on 29 students, where three people were selected who had high (S1), medium (S2), and low (S3) problem solving abilities. Based on the results of tests and interviews, students in the high category have four areas of mathematical problem solving ability: the ability to understand problems, the ability to formulate problem solving plans, the ability to solve problems, and recheck the answers they get.  This shows that the indicators can be met. Students show that in the medium category they are able to fulfill three indicators of mathematical problem solving ability: the ability to understand a problem, the ability to formulate a problem solving plan, and the ability to carry out problem solving. . On the other hand, students who are in the low category show that they are only able to fulfill two indicators, namely understanding the problem and planning a solution to the problem.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of mathematical reasoning ability of junior high school students in solving HOTS problems on the material of exponents by dividing them into three categories, namely high, medium, and low. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the study consisted of 25 grade IX students at one of the State Junior High Schools in Pekanbaru. The instrument used in the study was a mathematical reasoning ability test instrument with the material of exponents of 4 HOTS questions in the form of descriptions. The data analysis techniques used in this study consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that there were 2 students with a percentage of 8% in the high category, 20 students with a percentage of 80% in the medium category, and 3 students with a percentage of 12% in the low category. It can be concluded that the mathematical reasoning ability of grade IX students at one of Pekanbaru's junior high schools in solving HOTS problems on the material of exponents is still in the moderate category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the influence and improvement of learning outcomes with the application of the Discovery Learning model in mathematics learning of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Barru. The research method used was classroom action-based research (PTK) conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Barru, Barru District, Barru Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The participants or subjects of this study were students of class VIII.3 SMP Negeri 2 Barru. This study was attended by 24 students of class VIII.3 SMP Negeri 2 Barru, consisting of 13 boys and 11 girls. The research was conducted from August to October 2024. The results of cycle I research showed that only 41.67% of the 24 students in the class passed. While from the table of research results of cycle II, 4 people or 16.67% have not been able to meet the completeness, while those who achieve the completeness results are 20 people or 83.33%. Comparison of the results of the two cycles shows the average number (mean) of learning evaluation results increased from 62.92% to 80.83% after improving the shortcomings of the Discovery Learning model implemented. Likewise, the completeness of student learning increased from research cycle I to research cycle II.

Abstract

By using the Teams Assisted Individualization (TAI) learning approach, this study seeks to enhance the learning results of second-grade pupils in mathematics. TAI is a kind of cooperative learning that allows students to study based on their unique learning styles by fusing solo and group projects. It is anticipated that this model will enhance students' comprehension of fundamental mathematical ideas, particularly addition and subtraction. This study is a case study that was carried out at SDN Pondok Ranji 04 using a two-cycle classroom action research (PTK) methodology. Planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection were the four phases that made up each cycle. Student surveys, learning outcome assessments, and observation were used to gather data. The findings demonstrated that using the TAI model greatly enhanced student learning outcomes. Although it had not yet reached 80%, the growth from cycle I was carried over to cycle II. The TAI model's implementation in cycle II was successful in raising learning outcomes to 90.2%. This result demonstrates that the TAI model works well for both enhancing learning outcomes and fostering a more engaging and joyful learning environment.

Abstract

According to preliminary findings, class III mathematics instruction at SDN Tanjung Barat 09 that uses lecture and Q&A formats is less successful in producing the best learning results when it comes to flat geometry content. Just 42.3% of pupils have finished studying this content. By using the demonstration technique, this study seeks to address this issue and enhance student learning outcomes. Two cycles of Classroom Action Research (CAR) were conducted. To boost students' active engagement in learning, the demonstration technique was used in conjunction with instructional aids and learning materials like movies in each cycle. and it achieved a really satisfactory 92.31% in the second cycle. This improvement in learning outcomes demonstrates how well the demonstrative method works for teaching flat geometry content. This is because kids may learn visually and kinesthetically through the presentation approach, which makes the concept more tangible and simpler to recall. Additionally, using a variety of instructional resources and learning materials can boost students' willingness to learn.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of the Realistic Mathematic Education approach in the context of Malay culture in the Riau Islands on the learning outcomes of class VIII SMP students on flat-sided geometric building material. Quasy experiment with non-equivalent control group design was applied in this research. The research sample, namely classes VIIIA and VIIIB, was selected from all class VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Bintan with a total of 99 students using a cluster sampling technique. The test instrument used is essay questions to measure student learning outcomes. Data was collected using a test technique, namely pretest-posttest and analyzed using an independent sample t-test with a significance level of 5%. Through the research results, a sig value was obtained. equal to 0.0125 and it is known that 0.0125 < 0.05 ( ). So it is found that the sig value. < 0.05 then H0 is rejected, meaning that the average difference in students' final learning outcomes has a significant difference. It can be concluded that there is an influence of the Realistic Mathematic Education learning approach in the Malay cultural context of the Riau Islands on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that causes Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). This virus attacks the immune system by destroying one of its important elements, namely white blood cells known as T lymphocytes or lymphocyte cells. This study aims to analyze the influence of population mobility on the spread of HIV in North Sumatra Province using the SEIR (Susceptible, Exposed, Infected, Recovered) model. The data used includes the population and new HIV cases in 2023 in 33 districts/cities in this region. The SEIR model was modified to take into account the level of population mobility to calculate the disease transmission rate. The results of the analysis show that areas with high levels of mobility, such as Medan and Deli Serdang, have a significant number of new HIV cases, 1,200 and 144 cases respectively. In contrast, areas with small populations and low mobility, such as Pakpak Bharat and North Nias, recorded low or no HIV cases. This research shows a correlation between population mobility and the spread of HIV, so prevention strategies are needed that focus on areas with high levels of mobility.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of differentiated learning with a flipped classroom model assisted by the S.id platform on students' mathematics learning outcomes. This research used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study comprised all seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Bintan. Purposive sampling technique was used based on the assessment of expert teachers, namely the seventh-grade mathematics teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Bintan. Data collection techniques used were tests and observations. The instruments used were the main instruments consisting of test sheets and observation sheets, as well as supporting instruments consisting of learning modules, differentiated learning materials, and question sheets. The data analyzed was quantitative data using the Paired-Sample T-test. The results showed that the average pretest and posttest scores were 43.1 and 76.2, respectively, with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000. The results revealed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores, indicating the effectiveness of differentiated learning with a flipped classroom model assisted by the s.id platform on students' mathematics learning outcomes. This, it can be concluded that there is an effect of differentiated learning with a flipped classroom model assisted by the S.id platform on students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of the mountain crank game in numeracy literacy learning, describe students' numeracy literacy skills after using the mountain crank game media and describe the obstacles of teachers and students who have tried the mountain crank game during numeracy literacy learning for grade 5 students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Numeracy literacy is defined as a basic ability that is essential for children to understand and apply mathematical concepts in everyday life. However, it is often realized that repetitive learning methods can make students less enthusiastic and less focused in learning. This research applies a qualitative method which produces descriptive data in the form of sentences or words based on research findings. The data collection techniques applied are documentation, observation and interviews in this research. Data analysis is carried out interactively with data analysis that is processed in such a way that it appears more complete in the picture. This research shows that the results of the implementation of the mountain engklek game as a learning medium in this class are good, students can understand the material about counting whole numbers in questions which are packaged in the form of numeracy literacy so that many of the students are more interested and active in learning, although some students are still have not been able to understand the material according to the indicators of the material in students' numeracy literacy skills as expected by researchers.

Abstract

Terdapat banyak pelabelan graf yang telah dikembangkan, salah satunya adalah pelabelan graceful. Pelabelan graceful dari graf dengan E busur dan V simpul adalah pelabelan yang memenuhi fungsi injektif sedemikian sehingga label busur yang dihasilkan diperoleh dengan cara pada setiap busur berbeda secara berpasangan. Pada penelitian ini, kami membahas tentang pelabelan graceful graf hasil korona bunga mawar yaitu untuk dan untuk Graf bunga mawar dikenal sebagai graf tengah dari graf lingkaran. Misalkan adalah himpunan simpul dari graf lingkaran , . Graf bunga mawar dapat dibentuk dari graf lingkaran dengan simpul dan simpul terisolasi dan kemudian menghubungkan setiap dua titik dengan untuk dimana . memiliki simpul dengan derajat 2 dan simpul dengan derajat 4. Graf produk hasil korona bunga mawar yang dapat ditulis sebagai dibentuk oleh operasi korona pada graf bunga mawar dengan menambahkan r simpul daun pada setiap simpul.
