Abstract

The increase in the population of ruminants has resulted in an increase in the production of livestock waste which has the potential to be a source of environmental pollutants as well as a potential biogas producer. The study of the biogas potential of ruminant livestock waste in Sidrap Regency was carried out using secondary data from BPS. Biogas potential is calculated by multiplying the ruminant population with the potential for livestock waste production, solid matter content, volatile matter content, and volatile matter biogas production in one year. The potential energy for biogas propulsion from ruminant livestock waste is calculated using the multiplication of the potential for biogas production per year with the methane content of biogas and the energy value of methane gas. The biogas equivalence of LPG gas is calculated by multiplying the biogas potential of ruminant livestock waste by the equivalent per m3 of biogas with LPG. The results of the study show that the biogas potential of ruminant slag waste in Sidrap Regency is 1,071,508.23 m3/year. The potential driving energy of biogas from ruminant livestock waste in Sidrap Regency is 5,400,401.49 kWh/year. The biogas potential of ruminant livestock waste in Sidrap Regency is equivalent to 492.893.79 kg/year LPG. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the potential for renewable energy biogas from ruminant livestock waste in Sidrap Regency is very large.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk organik cair dengan dosis berbeda terhadap daun rumput gajah (Pennisetum purpureum). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan pemberian pupuk dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan P0= kontrol, P1 = 150 ml/polybag, P2= 300ml/polybag dan P3= 450ml/polybag. Variabel yang diamati adalah panjang daun, lebar daun dan luas daun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pupuk organik cair pada dosis 450 ml/polybag memberikan hasil terbaik pada variabel yang diukur dengan rincian panjang daun (103,33 cm), lebar daun (3,1 cm) dan luas daun (321,33 cm2).

Abstract

This reseacrh aims to find out the effect of probiotic administration of Bacillus subtilis BN Strain on shell thickness, white index and chicken yolk index. This research used 38-week-old layer laying hens as many as 24 heads, randomized into four treatments with eight replays. Treatment consists of P0 without the addition of probiotics, P1 with the addition of Bacillus subtilis BN Strain as many as 0.005 grams / kg of feed, P2 with the addition of Bacillus subtilis BN Strain as many as 0.01 grams / kg of feed and P3 with the addition of Bacillus subtilis BN Strain as many as 0.02 grams / kg of feed. Based on the analysis of statistical data, the Analysis Of Variance (ANOVA) test showed no noticeable difference (p>0.05) to the thickness of the shell, white index or egg yolk index. The results showed that the addition of probiotic Bacillus subtilis BN Strain as many as 0.005 grams/kg of feed, 0.01 grams/kg of feed and 0.02 kg/kg of feed had no noticeable effect on the increase in egg shell thickness, egg white index and egg yolk index.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian glutation 150 ppm dalam ransum terhadap peroksidasi lipid ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kandang Produksi Ternak Unggas dan analisis sampel dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Fisiologi dan Biokimia Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran. Objek penelitian ini terdiri dari 60 ekor ayam broiler yang dipelihara sejak doc sampai umur 35 hari. Sebanyak 60 ekor ayam broiler dibagi ke dalam dua kelompok yaitu 30 ekor ayam diberi glutation 150 ppm dan 30 ekor ayam broiler tidak diberi glutation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan glutution dalam ransum sebanyak 150 ppm per kg ransum mempengaruhi kadar MDA, kolesterol dan TIBC ayam broiler. Rata-rata kadar MDA, kolesterol dan TIBC ayam broiler yang diberi glutation berturut-turut adalah 2,501 ± 0,033 nm/M-1cm-1, 196,093 ± 2,821b mg/dl, 499,759 ± 2,730b mg/dl. Glutation 150 ppm dalam ransum mampu menekan konsentrasi MDA dan meningkatkan kadar kolestrol dan TIBC dalam plasma darah ayam broiler.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi asam urat terhadap malondlialdehyde (MDA) dan Transferrin pada ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kandang percobaan dan analisis sampel dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisiologi dan Biokimia Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran. Objek penelitian terdiri dari 50 ekor ayam broiler yang dipelihara selama 35 hari. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu eksperimental dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis korelasi. Peubah yang diamati yaitu: asam urat, malondialdehyde (MDA) dan transferrin. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa asam urat memiliki korelasi yang tinggi terhadap malondialdehyde (MDA) dan transferrin. Dengan nilai korelasi masing-masing 0,853; 0,968 dan koefesien besaran masing masing 0,727; 0,936. Model regresi untuk nilai pendugaan asam urat dengan MDA yaitu y = 11,192 – 1,794x dan asam urat dengan transferrin yaitu y = 1,4348 + 0,701x.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesejahteraan rumah tangga peternak kambing di kecamatan Tiris Kabupaten Probolinggo. Proporsi konsumsi makanan merupakan salah satu indikator untuk menentukan tingkat kesejahteraan rumah tangga. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer yang dikumpulkan meliputi karakteristik rumah tangga peternak kambing pengeluaran konsumsi makanan dan non makanan, pendapatan peternak kambing. Data sekunder berasal dari instansi terkait seperti BPS, Dinas kesehatan hewan dan peternakan Kabupaten Probolinggo. Data yang diperoleh dari lapangan diproses dari tabulasi dan dihitung menggunakan rumus PKP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan tingkat kesejahteraan peternak kambing berdasarkan proporsi konsumsi makanan 60 rumah tangga peternak kambing atau sekitar 92% dari total sampel rumah tangga dalam kategori petani sejahtera dan 5 rumah tangga peternak kambing atau sekitar 8 % dalam kategori kurang mampu.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Bocek Village, Karangploso District, Malang Regency as one of the several village agribusiness centers for fresh milk around the KUD Karangploso area. The research purpose was to determine social interaction in the fresh milk marketing chain. The research method used was survey method. Type of data uses were primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained through observation, direct interviews to dairy farmer and cooperative officer & Netle representative, and documentation. While secondary data obtained from relevant documents. The theoretical approach used was the social interaction theory which it can be consist of the form of cooperation, competition as well as conflict and accommodation. Data then analyzed descriptive qualitatively. In general, there are two main characteristics of social interaction, namely associative and dissociative. The results indicated that the social interaction that was formed in the marketing of fresh milk by dairy farmers in the Karangploso KUD area was social interaction between farmers because there was an organizational relationship between members of the Karangploso KUD. The social interaction of dairy farmers with the KUD Karangploso was formed due to cooperation in marketing fresh milk. While social interaction between KUD Karangploso and PT. Nestle Indonesia is in the form of cooperation in the distribution of fresh milk on the basis of contractual cooperation.

Abstract

Colostrum is the milk secreted by the mother cow on the first day until the fourth day of milking after giving birth sothat it becomes the main food for the calf. The decrease in the milk production of dairy cows is in line with the increasein the lactation period. The effect of lactation period and colostrum age on colostrum fat content needs to beinvestigated because many small farmers do not understand the importance of colostrum for calves, especiallycolostrum fat content. The research location is in the Cattle Farming Cooperative. Dairy (KPSP) Faithful Friend. Dairycows used were 23 FH cows with a sample of 115 samples with 3 lactation periods (1,2,3) and 1,2,3,4,5 milking days.The method used is the case study method and sampling with purposive sampling. The variables used were lactationperiod, age and colostrum fat. data were analyzed using simple linear regression and correlation then analyzed usingdescriptive results. The relationship between lactation period and colostrum fat content is Y 7.43 + 0.03X, which meansthat every increase of 1 lactation period will result in an increase in colostrum fat content of 0.03%. With a correlationcoefficient (r) of 0.013 and a determination coefficient (R2) of 0.01%. while the average age of colostrum with thehighest colostrum fat content on the first day was 8.79 while the smallest fat content on the fifth day was 5.85. Basedon the results of the study it can be concluded that lactation period is not associated with the highest colostrum fatcontent on day 1 and the lowest on day 5.Keywords: Colostrum, lactation period, colostrum age, fat

Abstract

Making ice cream on a laboratory scale generally still uses conventional methods. The process of making ice cream in the conventional way or by manual stirring by human hands is considered inefficient because it takes a long time to make. Thus, it is necessary to evaluate the manufacture of a semi-automatic ice cream maker with considerations of efficiency, effectiveness, and ergonomics. In making this semi-automatic ice cream maker, it has several components, namely making the main frame, making dough tubes and ice cube tubes as temperature controllers, and stirrers. Making ice cream using 4 treatments of stirring time, namely P1 15 minutes, P2 30 minutes, P3 45 minutes, P4 60 minutes. The ingredients used are 67% pure milk, 10% skim milk, 10% sugar, 12% whipping cream, 0.5% CMC, and 0.5% gelatin. The testing phase uses ice cream overrun measurements. The longer the stirring, the higher the overrun value. Based on the results it can be concluded that the semi-automatic ice cream maker was successfully made at an affordable price. Based on the overrun value test, the best results were found in P4 with a stirring time of 60 minutes. Semi-automatic ice cream maker can be used to support milk processing in the laboratory. Abstract

This study aims to calculate the potential utilization of feed from roughages and feed capacity for beef cattle in Barru Regency, South Sulawesi. Research data were obtained through surveys and secondary data from government agencies, statistical data, and other literature sources related to the research. Data analysis included calculating beef cattle population (animal unit, AU), dry matter production from roughages, and roughage carrying capacity. The results showed that dry matter (DM) production from roughages in Barru Regency was 147,878.60 tons DM. This total DM production can accommodate a beef cattle population of 75,627.41 AU. The study area can still develop the potential for additional beef cattle to reach 21,081.82 AU. Optimal utilization of roughage feed can increase the population and meet the fiber needs of beef cattle in the Barru Regency.
