Abstract

This study examines students' perceptions of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in the "English for Business communication" course at Universitas Bhinneka. PBL, a student-centered approach, engages students in meaningful projects, promoting skills like collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The course was divided into three phases: Product Identification and Presentation, Business Communication via Email, and Field Observation and Product Promotion. The study involved 30 second-semester Economics Education students, utilizing questionnaires to gather data. Findings indicate that students found PBL to be an effective and engaging teaching method. The activities helped them develop public speaking, formal writing, and professional communication skills. The hands-on nature of PBL allowed students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts, particularly in business scenarios. They appreciated the practical applications of their tasks and the opportunity to work collaboratively with peers, which enhanced their learning experience. While some challenges, such as the need for careful planning and adequate resources, were noted, students generally reported increased motivation and engagement. The study concludes that PBL is a valuable method for teaching English in a business context, providing practical and relevant learning experiences.

Da’wah is an activity aimed at inviting, calling, or guiding humanity to do good, so they obey Allah’s commands and avoid His prohibitions. An effective communication model and strategy are crucial for the preacher in delivering dakwah so that the message conveyed can be received, understood, and applied by the audience in their daily lives. The focus of this research is to examine the communication model and digital dakwah strategy on Gus Miftah’s YouTube channel through one of the videos titled “Gus Miftah Visits Prisoners in Prison.” This research uses a narrative qualitative approach. Narrative research is a study that explores the lives of individuals or groups as told or documented. Based on the results of the research and analysis, it was found that Gus Miftah, in delivering his dakwah or sermon in the Narcotics Prison, utilized several communication models: the informative communication model (providing information), the persuasive communication model (inviting, motivating, and influencing), the recreational communication model (delivering with humor), and the extemporaneous communication model (noting key points and delivering them flexibly). Additionally, Gus Miftah, in his sermon or dakwah video at the Narcotics Prison, used two dakwah strategies: the sentimental strategy (appealing to feelings, emotions, or the heart) and the rational strategy (through reason and intellect). Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the principle of qaulan layyina as mentioned in the Qur’an (QS. Taha: 44) within the context of Islamic preaching on Indonesian television, specifically in the Q&A program aired on Metro TV. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach supported by literature analysis, this research explores how preachers deliver religious messages with gentleness, empathy, and persuasion to a heterogeneous audience. The study highlights that the application of qaulan layyina is influenced by several factors, including the preacher’s personal understanding of Islamic ethical principles, their communication skills, and the structure of the television program. The findings demonstrate that most preachers succeed in maintaining a soft and inclusive tone, especially when responding to sensitive or controversial questions. Through this approach, they are able to minimize conflict, promote mutual respect, and uphold the core values of Islamic communication. This research contributes to the broader field of Islamic communication studies and offers practical insights for da’wah practices in modern media environments. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study examines the story of Prophet Musa in Q.S. Al-Baqarah 67–71 through Angelika Neuwirth’s intertextuality perspective, connecting it to Prophet Muhammad's preaching in Medina. The narrative emphasizes obedience, sincerity, and patience, which are essential for fostering multicultural societies. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytic approach, this research explores the interplay between Qur'anic narratives and other religious traditions, such as Judaism. The findings reveal that the command to sacrifice a cow conveys profound universal moral messages, such as the importance of compliance and sincerity in religious practices. These values are mirrored in Prophet Muhammad’s wisdom-, dialogue-, and empathy-based preaching strategies, particularly in addressing Medina's diverse community. This study contributes to Qur'anic studies by offering an intertextual perspective and practical guidance for contemporary Islamic preaching strategies that prioritize inclusivity and contextual relevance. Keywords: intertextuality, Q.S. Al-Baqarah 67-71, Prophet Musa, Prophet Muhammad, universal values, preaching strategies.
