Abstract

Corn is the leading agricultural product for corn farmers in Meteseh Village, Tembalang Subdistrict, Semarang City. However, the farmers process and thresh the corn manually without using machine tools, so it takes a long time and is inefficient. To overcome this problem, the service team designed and made a corn threshing machine that was used to optimize the application of corn threshing technology to increase post-harvest productivity. This service activity begins with the handover of the corn thresher machine to the farmer group, then the presentation and training on the use of the machine. The corn threshing process is carried out by inserting corn into the thresher shaft, then the thresher knife will separate the corn kernels from the stalks. The results of the threshing trial showed that this machine can work well, is very practical to use, easy to carry around, fast production process, undamaged corn cobs, and low electrical power. This machine has a power of 0.5 HP which is able to thresh corn kernels with a production capacity of 183 kg/hour

Abstract

The "Ecobrick Goes to School" program is a collaborative initiative between the Pre-service Teacher Professional Education (PPG) students of Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) and SMP Negeri 25 Malang. This program aims to educate students on the importance of plastic waste management through the creation of ecobricks, a simple technology that transforms plastic waste into environmentally friendly building materials. In support of the Adiwiyata School vision, the program is designed to raise students' environmental awareness and promote sustainable practices within the school environment. Through a participatory approach, the PPG students from UM collaborated with teachers and students to conduct a series of educational activities, including ecobrick-making workshops, discussions on the environmental impacts of plastic waste, and the introduction of recycling concepts. The results of this program showed an increase in students' understanding and involvement in waste management efforts, as well as a tangible contribution to reducing plastic waste in the school environment. This collaboration not only provided educational benefits to students but also strengthened the leadership competencies of PPG students in implementing community-based programs. The success of this program highlights the importance of synergy between educational institutions and school communities in addressing global environmental issues through concrete local actions

Abstract

In today's technological advancements, every process can now be carried out digitally. Digital connectivity refers to the connection or network that enables electronic devices to communicate, exchange data, and interact through digital media. In terms of service delivery, a platform is needed that allows interaction between service providers and consumers, where interactions occur solely through mobile communication devices (smartphones). Baros Village in Warunggunung Subdistrict, Lebak Regency, Banten Province, with an area of 136 hectares and a population of 5,573 people, has the potential to become an integrated village by connecting the village community with the village government. This can be achieved by integrating participatory and collaborative elements through the development of a village website. The village website is expected to expedite the service process, improve access to information, and strengthen communication between village residents and the village government. Consequently, community participation in village development will increase, along with the realization of more effective and efficient public services

Abstract

The School Literacy Movement (GLS) is an Indonesian government program that fosters a liking for reading at all levels of education. In its implementation until now, many schools have not been able to implement it under the guidelines provided. SDN Pantai Bahagia 04 in Pantai Bahagia Village, Muaragembong District, Bekasi Regency, West Java, does not yet have a library. Teachers with their limitations have carried out reading activities for fifteen minutes of school textbooks before learning. This activity aims to promote literacy at SDN Pantai Bahagia 04 in Muaragembong sub-district, Bekasi district, by fulfilling the physical, social-affective, and academic environment aspects. A total of ten teachers were involved in the activity, which took place from June to August 2024. The method applied was GLS training and its implementation. The stages of this activity include training with tutorial, practice, and monitoring-evaluation. The knowledge test results on GLS showed that teachers' knowledge and understanding still needed improvement. However, in its implementation, teachers have practiced various reading techniques, created a classroom atmosphere with a literacy theme, and created fun activities after reading. Until now, the library has not been opened for students to read because data is still being finalized in the SLiMS and library administration. Nevertheless, the existing books can run GLS in their respective classrooms. Based on the conditions of students and schools, teachers understand the actual implementation of GLS. They are still in the process of realizing the physical, socio-affective, and academic environments

Abstract

Polydactyly is a congenital condition that manifests in a variety of ways, ranging from minor splitting to a fully duplicated thumb. When duplication occurs alone, it is typically unilateral and infrequent. Polydactyly is a deformity of the human limb that is distinguished by the presence of more than the average number of fingers or toes. It is thought to be one of the most common inherited hand illnesses. Polydactyly can be classified into three types based on the anatomical placement of the duplicated digits: preaxial, postaxial, and central or mesoaxial. Polydactyly can be classified into three types based on the anatomical placement of the duplicated digits: preaxial, postaxial, and mesoaxial. This case report describes an otherwise healthy 8-years-old female with isolated left hand preaxial polydactyly. She then underwent surgical correction, and the overnumbered thumb was removed, along with thorough bone and soft tissue repair. Polydactyly is the most prevalent congenital digital abnormality of the hand and foot. It may arise alone or as part of a condition. Surgery is required to generate a single functional thumb and is recommended to improve appearance. An optimum finger must be constructed by combining skin, nail, bone, ligament, and muscular aspects. In this situation, surgery was required to leave the student with a single working thumb

Abstract

Pluralism is an important concept in understanding diversity and the way people live side by side in harmony. Aspects of pluralism include religious diversity, recognition and acceptance of various religions and beliefs that exist in society. If we want to understand and be able to apply the values of pluralism in everyday life, we must first understand the basic values of pluralism itself. The aim of implementing this community service is to provide outreach about the application of pluralist values in Haurkolot village, Indramayu. This Community Service Activity aims to provide education regarding the application of pluralist values in Haurkolot village, Indramayu Regency. The result of this activity is to know the values of pluralism, including: tolerance, equality, dialogue, inclusiveness, and recognition of identity. These values of pluralism are very important in building a peaceful, just and harmonious society. By implementing tolerance, equality, dialogue, inclusivity, and identity recognition, we can create an environment where differences are seen as strengths, not as sources of conflict. Among the conflicts that arise in society are related to religious intolerance, such as At-Tadayyun Al- Manqus, which is a phenomenon that must be watched out for in religious life. It is important for each individual to try to understand and practice religion as a whole, so as not to be trapped in incomplete religious practices. So the benefits of pluralism in social life include increasing creativity and innovation, strengthening social cohesion, learning and self-development, reducing conflict, increasing quality of life, empowering minority groups, and economic development. Collective efforts from individuals, com munities and governments are needed to realize true pluralism and gain full benefits from it

Abstract

School is one of the public facilities that can produce waste every day from activities carried out by students and teaching staff. Community service activities serve as a platform for transferring knowledge and skills through community education programs. The aims of this activity is to provide education for students and teachers about waste (household waste and marine debris) and its management. The process of conducting activities involves the preparation phase, the implementation phase through socialization and counseling, and the evaluation phase. Data analysis is done using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the activity was going well with enthusiastic students and active discussions with the lecturer team. There was a significant increase in the percentage of people with knowledge and understanding of waste material and its management. The percentage of correct answers in the pretest was only 3%, but increased to 83% after socialisation (posttest).
