Abstract

The lack of use of media in the process of learning mathematics then has an impact on the low cognitive ability of students, so to overcome these problems, students need media that can help the learning process. The purpose of this study is to produce flashcard media products based on augmented reality as a valid, practical, and effective media to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes. This research belongs to the type of development research that was developed using the ADDIE model with the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects involved in this study were validators, teachers, and fifth grade elementary school students. Data collection was carried out using observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The data collection instrument uses a questionnaire and test questions. Data analysis techniques used were descriptive analysis of qualitative, quantitative, and t-tests. The results of the analysis show that the validation of material experts obtained a percentage of 79.2%, which is included in the valid criteria. The second criterion, which is practical, was obtained through the teacher questionnaire and small group trial. Students obtained a percentage of 88.7% included in the very practical criteria, and the student questionnaire obtained a percentage of 89.5% included in the very practical criteria. The teacher and student questionnaires during the large group trial for teachers obtained a percentage of 91.2% included in very practical criteria and for students obtained a percentage of 88.3% included in very practical criteria. The third criterion is effectiveness. Based on these results, it can be concluded that flashcard media based on augmented reality can significantly improve students' cognitive abilities.

Abstract

A collaborative research project between university lecturers and school teachers is a type of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program that allows them to collaboratively analyze classroom problems and provide effective solutions. This study described the findings of a two-cycle collaborative Classroom Action Research project between a lecturer and a teacher in Indonesia. The study analyzes students' English-speaking attitudes. 8 meetings rich in role-play activities were designed to improve students' English-speaking attitudes by continuously analyzing and modifying instruction. The study was designed using the spiral cycle model. This model has four (four) steps: Plan - Actions - Observe - and Reflect. This study employed two data collection methods: interviews and observation. Data were analyzed in which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusions. This study reveals that there are four stages to implement Role play technique to increase students English-speaking attitudes. They are as follows: 1) The familiarization stage, which involves students connecting their prior knowledge with the topic 2) the rehearsal stage, which involves students rehearsing the role play; 3) the demonstration stage, which involves students demonstrating their role play; 4) the evaluation stage, which involves teacher and classmates providing feedback; and 5) the reflection stage, which involves students reflecting on their learning. Some teaching modifications that important in improving students' English-speaking attitudes and how the study develops teacher’s professionalism are discussed.

Abstract

One of the geography skills is students have spatial thinking ability. The aim of this research is to develop 3D Street Story Map Learning Media to accelerate students' spatial thinking ability. Learning media developed based on Google My Map integrated with virtual tours so that learning media can be used in geography learning courses. The development uses a 4D model that is adjusted to development needs. The define phase examines the study of development needs including a literature study and needs assessment of high school students and teachers. The design stage contains four steps, including constructing criteria and references, selecting media, selecting formats, and initial design. The second stage is to develop and validate learning media from material and media experts and test the practicality of learning media. The research results are the creation of 3D Steet Story Map learning media which was developed based on a needs assessment study, tested validity based on the material and media experts, and has practical and effective value for student geography learning. The practical implications of using 3D Street Story Map learning media are in this article.

Abstract

Technology is a basic need of everyone so it can be said that educational innovation and educational technology are inseparable whole and causes the use of technology in the scope of education to be a must to achieve a more advanced and quality education. Therefore, it is important to know the development of technology in the scope of education so that it can be the basis for technological development in education in the future. The purpose of this study is to analyze and find out the trends of technology research in the field of education in the last 5 years starting from 2018 to 2022. This study uses bibliometric analysis which is a quantitative statistical analysis tool that is often used to provide analysis of existing publications with the help of VOSviewer to visualize data and use databases in Scopus. Then, based on the results of the analysis, 547 publications were obtained in the span of 5 years, starting from 2018 to 2022, furthermore, technological research trends in education related to publication growth and leading affiliations, leading country and subject area, the most source title, the most cited source, the most cited authors, and keywords co occurances analysis. In addition, this research contributes and also opens up opportunities for future researchers to be able to conduct research related to technology in education, which is still small in the density visualization area.

Abstract

The exploration of generic science skills in solving chemistry problems can be influenced by various factors, one of which is gender bias in the learning process. This research aims to measure students' generic skills in solving chemistry problems based on gender. This study is quantitative descriptive research with a pre-experimental method using a One-Shot Case Study design. The sample consists of 20 eleventh-grade students, with 10 male students and 10 female students, selected based on gender and the taught material. Data collection techniques include measurement techniques, observation techniques, and interview techniques. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the research show difference in the scores of generic science skills between female and male students. Female students have higher scores in direct observation indicators (80 vs. 79) and logical inference (83 vs. 79). However, there is no significant difference in the cause-and-effect law indicator (74 vs. 74). Meanwhile, male students have a slight advantage in the abstraction indicator (67 vs. 66) and concept building (76 vs. 74). Of the five indicators examined in the form of tests, the abstraction indicator obtains the lowest score, while the highest score is in the logical inference indicator. From these results, there is no significant difference in the generic science skills of male and female students.

Abstract

Based on the previous literature review, applying the POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) model in elementary school learning still needs to be strengthened using animation media to achieve optimal learning goals. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of using the POGIL model assisted by animation media regarding changes in science process and collaboration skills. This type of research is a quasi-experiment with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design class design. The sample used was 58 students, consisting of 29 in the VA class as the experimental class and 29 in the VB class as the control class. The data collection instruments in this research were essay question sheets, observation sheets, and questionnaire sheets. The data analysis method used is inferential statistics with the t-test. The results of this research are that the use of the POGIL model assisted by animation media has very effective results on the science process skills and collaboration abilities of elementary school students as seen from the achievement and improvement of each indicator of science process skills which is classified in the very high category. Students' cooperative abilities in groups have increased significantly, resulting in relatively high scores. It was concluded that using the POGIL Model significantly improved elementary school students' science process skills and collaboration.

Abstract

The number of students who need to improve in understanding science learning material is caused by using less than optimal learning components. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the problem-based learning model assisted by audio-visual media on the competence of science knowledge in fifth-grade elementary school. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study was fifth-grade students. The sample in this study was determined by cluster random sampling technique. The sample in this study was fifth-grade elementary school students. Data in this study were collected using the multiple-choice test method. The collected data were then analyzed using descriptive and t-test inferential statistical analysis techniques. The results of the t-test analysis obtained count = 8.413 and table = 4.027 with a significance level of 5%. These calculations show that tcount>ttable, so H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted. Therefore, the problem-based learning model assisted by audio-visual media significantly influences the science knowledge competence of fifth-grade elementary school students. The implication of this research is to improve students' science knowledge competence.

Abstract

Most students have not been able to collaborate with friends and teachers. Apart from that, there are still many students who are not severe, and students cannot respect friends of different religions. This research aims to analyze the influence of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model on the Pancasila student profile of fourth-grade elementary school students. This research is quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The population of this study was 149 fourth-grade elementary school students. Data collection methods use questionnaires and description tests. The research data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques (t-test). The results of data analysis showed that the average posttest score on the experimental group questionnaire was 67.44, which was in the very high category, and the average posttest score on the control group questionnaire was 46.04, which was in the medium class. Meanwhile, the average posttest score on the experimental group's description test was 76.2, which was in the very high category, while the average posttest score on the control group's description test was 52.31, which was in the medium class. The t-test analysis results show a significant influence of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model on the Pancasila student profile of fourth-grade elementary school students. It was concluded that the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model could improve the shape of Pancasila students in fourth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Lack of teacher ability to develop teaching materials causes boredom. The aim of this research is to develop a Visual Auditory Kinesthetic (VAK) based learning e-module aimed at students in the fourth grade of elementary school, a solution that researchers can offer. This research is a mixed method-based development research using the 4 D (Four-D) research model. Data collection methods use observation, interviews and questionnaires. The research subjects were 4 experts and 1 teacher. The test subjects were shown to fourth grade elementary school students. The data analysis technique uses qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The research results show that material experts and media experts carry out product testing, while teachers and students carry out assessments. The results show overall results for material experts are 91 percent in the very good category, overall media experts are 89 percent in the very good category, practitioners overall are 95 percent in the very good category, and students overall are 93 percent in the very good category. Therefore, it can be concluded that learning e-modules that focus on energy-saving materials for fourth grade elementary school students are suitable for use. The implication of this research is that this learning e-module can help teachers and students as a learning tool to support learning, especially in energy saving material.

Abstract

Lack of student interest in learning English material. The current learning outcome scores in English courses have decreased. This research aims to create an English practicum module to increase student interest in learning and learning outcomes. This type of research is development. The research model used is the ADDIE development model. The subjects in this research were 6 experts to determine the validity of the module developed. The data collection methods in this research were questionnaires and tests. Data analysis techniques are qualitative descriptive analysis quantitative and inferential statistics. The research results show that the English practicum module obtained a validity index for material experts I and II with an average score of 95.5%, media experts I and II with an average score of 87%, and design experts I and II with an average score of 87. % is included in very good validity. The results of the practical expert assessment obtained a result of 87%. The results of the product effectiveness test stated that the average pretest learning score was 52.79, and the post-test learning results averaged 82.14. The English practicum module could increase student interest in learning and learning outcomes. The results of this research show that the product developed is valid, practical, and effective and is expected to overcome the value of student learning outcomes.
