Abstract

This study aimed to develop science learning media based on scientific literacy using the Anyflip flipbook platform for elementary school students. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants were 33 fifth-grade students from a public elementary school in Berastagi, Indonesia. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed that the developed media was highly feasible, indicated by positive student responses with an average score of 87.27% in the very good category. The effectiveness test demonstrated an improvement in learning outcomes, with average scores increasing from 67.12 in the pre-test to 84.36 in the post-test. The N-Gain analysis showed that 24.24% of students were in the high category, 66.67% in the medium category, and 9.09% in the low category. These findings indicate that flipbook-based science learning media effectively improves students’ conceptual understanding, engagement, and scientific literacy in elementary science learning.

Abstract

The culture of the pesantren is a living value system and plays an important role in the formation of the character of the students. This study aims to analyze the role of pesantren culture in shaping the character education of students at the Al-Anam Cianjur Islamic Boarding School. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation. The research informants included kyai, ustadz, pesantren administrators, and students. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The validity of the data is maintained through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study show that the pesantren culture at Al-Anam Islamic Boarding School, which includes daily discipline, ta'dzim attitude towards teachers, mutual cooperation, simplicity, independence, and the tradition of recitation of the yellow book, plays a significant role in shaping the character of students. The character values formed include sincerity, responsibility, discipline, humility, independence, tolerance, and honesty. The culture of pesantren has proven to be an effective character education system because these values are internalized through example, habituation, and religious boarding life. This study recommends strengthening the culture of pesantren as a model of Islamic character education that is relevant to the challenges of modern education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the efforts of teachers and the principal in preventing bullying at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) 10 Layung, Aceh Barat Regency. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The informants consisted of the school principal, classroom teacher, and three students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using an interactive analysis model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that bullying cases at MI 10 Layung are relatively low and continue to decline. The principal emphasizes direct guidance for both perpetrators and victims, as well as involving parents in more serious cases. Classroom teachers handle minor incidents through quick and consistent educational reprimands, including the strategy of calling students by their parents’ names to create a deterrent effect. Observations support the interview results, indicating that the school environment is safe, student interactions are positive, and teachers actively supervise and guide students. The study concludes that the synergy among the principal, teachers, students, and parents plays an essential role in creating a conducive learning environment and preventing bullying in primary schools.

Abstract

This article examines how the KAAN fighter jet procurement deepened defense relations between Indonesia and Türkiye through defense diplomacy. Using Lech Drab’s framework of defense diplomacy, the article argues that the KAAN case should be understood not merely as a procurement decision, but as a form of strategic engagement that elevated bilateral defense relations to a more intensive and institutionalized level. Methodologically, the study applies a qualitative single case study design, with data collected through a structured desk review of official statements, policy documents, company releases, academic works, and reputable news reports, and analyzed through thematic analysis. The findings show that the KAAN procurement deepened Indonesia-Türkiye defense relations through three connected mechanisms: the strengthening of strategic trust, the expansion of defense-industrial cooperation, and the enhancement of Indonesia’s defense capability. More broadly, the article finds that Indonesia’s cooperation with Türkiye reflects an effort to build a stable long-term defense relationship that can widen Indonesia’s strategic influence while preserving its autonomy amid great-power competition. The case also confirms that defense diplomacy remains a practical means through which middle powers can simultaneously build confidence, strengthen military capability, and develop the defense industry. In this sense, the KAAN case demonstrates the growing sophistication of defense diplomacy among middle powers. Lastly, this study is limited to a single qualitative case and does not assess the long-term operational outcomes of the KAAN program or compare it systematically with Indonesia’s other procurement pathways.

Abstract

The development of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning materials in Madrasah Aliyah plays a strategic role in fostering competencies as well as a harmonious and contextual religious character in students. A challenge that frequently arises in current learning practices is the utilization of instructional materials that tend to be textual, lack contextuality, and are not fully adaptive to student characteristics or the demands of the latest curriculum. This study aims to examine the nature of materials, learning resources, development principles, types of content, as well as the techniques and designs for compiling PAI instructional materials at the Aliyah level that are relevant to students' competency needs. Utilizing a qualitative approach in the form of a literature review, this study analyzes various literatures relevant to the subject matter under internal investigation. The results of the study indicate that the design of PAI learning materials must be executed systematically, integratively, and contextually by balancing the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions. Furthermore, the implementation of PAI instructional materials needs to integrate essential values such as the "Love Curriculum", religious moderation, and ecotheology. Through this integration, PAI learning is not merely oriented toward conceptual mastery, but also focuses on character building, humanistic values, and students' socio-ecological awareness. Designing materials that align with learning outcomes and contemporary advancements is proven to enhance effectiveness and cultivate a PAI learning paradigm that is more reflective, dialogic, and student-centered in Madrasah Aliyah.

Abstract

Quality of education is one of the main indicators of the success of education implementation and has a strategic role in human resource development. The low quality of graduates, weak relevance of education to the needs of the community, and lack of effective management of educational institutions show that quality improvement cannot be separated from education management. This article aims to examine the concept of education quality, describe various models for improving the quality of education, and analyze these models from the perspective of education management. This study used a qualitative approach with a literature review method. Data were obtained from national and international journal articles, proceedings, research reports, and other relevant academic documents. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques through conceptual grouping, model categorization, and theory synthesis. The results of the study show that quality of education is the result of a planned and sustainable management process, which includes the dimensions of input, process, output, and outcome. Various models of education quality improvement, such as total quality management, school-based management, continuous improvement, the input-process-output model, and internal quality assurance, have a strong theoretical and relevant foundation to be applied in education management. The perspective of education management helps us understand that quality improvement requires a systemic approach, effective leadership, supportive organizational culture, and the participation of all stakeholders.

Abstract

This study examines the multidimensional impacts of electoral policies on geometric economy models and global stability through a qualitative literature review approach. The analysis reveals that political uncertainty during election cycles significantly disrupts geometric growth consistency, with a 1–2% decline in growth ratio (r) leading to an annual GDP loss of 0.3–0.5%. Money politics systematically distorts optimal resource allocation, diverting up to 40% of budgets to non-productive activities and reducing the marginal productivity of capital (MPK) by 0.8–1.2%. Financial market volatility, particularly in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and rupiah exchange rates, follows election-related fluctuation patterns, though mitigated by Bank Indonesia's interest rate stabilization and foreign reserve interventions. Globally, political instability in strategic nations disrupts supply chains and international trade. Sectors with exponential growth characteristics, such as technology, experience greater disruptions compared to linearly growing sectors like agriculture. The study recommends campaign financing reforms, monetary-fiscal policy coordination, and public education to minimize electoral disruptions to geometric economic models and global stability. These findings underscore the need for evidence-based policies to balance democratic processes with sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

This study examines the Indonesian government's policy of increasing tobacco excise rates from the perspective of fiqh siyasah, specifically the principle of Tasharruful Imam 'Ala Ra'iyah Manuthun BilMaslahah, which asserts that every action of a leader must be oriented toward public welfare. The main focus of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of the exercise policy in reducing cigarette consumption, minimizing health impacts, and increasing state revenue amid the growing circulation of illegal cigarettes. This study employs a normative legal method with a juridical-normative approach through library research that reviews relevant regulations, academic literature, and data from official institutions. The findings indicate that, normatively, the policy has a strong legal foundation, namely Law Number 39 of 2007 concerning Excise and Government Regulation Number 28 of 2024 concerning the Control of Addictive Substances. Theoretically, this policy is effective through the mechanism of price elasticity; however, in practice, its effectiveness is hindered by the widespread distribution of illegal cigarettes, weak enforcement, complex tax structures, and low public awareness. Therefore, optimizing the tobacco excise policy requires simplifying the excise structure, strengthening law enforcement against illegal cigarettes, and implementing cross-sectoral educational campaigns grounded in Islamic ethics and social justice. Through these comprehensive measures, the excise policy can function not only as a fiscal instrument but also as a tangible manifestation of public health protection and societal welfare.

Abstract

This study discusses the use of artificial intelligence in early childhood education from the perspective of Islamic religious education. The background of this research emerged because AI technology began to be used in children's learning, but it was not fully aligned with Islamic moral values and teachings. This study aims to explain how AI is used in early childhood learning, identify opportunities that can be utilized, and identify challenges that arise in its use. The method used is qualitative with a literature study approach, which involves collecting and reading various journals, books, and scientific sources related to research topics, and then analyzing them by grouping, comparing, and compiling findings so that they are easy to understand. The results of the study show that AI can facilitate learning to be more interesting, fast, and in accordance with children's abilities through media such as games, videos, chatbots, and smart learning systems. AI makes it easier for teachers to prepare materials and understand children's development. However, challenges such as the risk of misunderstanding religious teachings, reliance on technology, reduced social interaction, and ethical and data security issues exist. In Islamic religious education, AI cannot replace the role of teachers because teachers guide morals and set direct examples. Therefore, AI should be used as a tool that remains under the guidance of teachers and parents so that learning runs well without leaving religious values.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the application of the Picture and Picture learning model in improving the learning outcomes of students in the subject of Islamic Religious Education in grade IV of SDIK Asy-Syafi'i. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design method in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 18 students. Data were collected through learning outcome tests in the form of pre- and post-tests. The data obtained were then analyzed using the calculation of the average and Normalized Gain (N-Gain). The results showed that the average pre-test score of 66.39 increased to 85.00 in the post-test, with an increase of 19.11 points. The N-Gain value obtained was 0.66, which was in the medium category. In addition, the completeness of students' learning increased from 44% to 78%. These results demonstrate that the application of the PiPeL model is effective in improving student learning outcomes. This model can increase students' activity and understanding through the use of visual media in the learning process. Thus, the PiP learning model can be used as an alternative to improve the quality of learning, especially in the subject of Islamic Religious Education in elementary schools.
