Abstract

This research designs a web-based application that utilizes Machine Learning technology to predict the risk of possible heart disease with algorithms. This research aims to develop a web-based application that uses Machine Learning technology with the Decision Tree algorithm to predict the risk of heart disease. The research process begins with the collection of relevant medical data used in the training of Machine Learning models. Next, the web application is integrated with IBM Cloud services such as Watson Studio and IBM Cloud Object Storage to store user data and access configured Machine Learning algorithms for heart disease prediction. The data is processed and auto-configured using Machine Learning services from IBM Cloud, then the Machine Learning model is trained with Decision Tree algorithm using the processed dataset. As a result, a web application was successfully developed and integrated with IBM Cloud services, capable of providing heart disease prediction with sufficient accuracy. The application's simple and user-friendly interface allows users to easily access the heart disease prediction service without requiring in-depth technical knowledge. Thus, this research successfully created a solution that can assist in the early diagnosis of heart disease, provide direct benefits to the community, and expand access to heart health information widely. This application is built using the Flask framework and integrated with Machine Learning services from IBM Cloud. The use of the Decision Tree algorithm with an accuracy of 91.9% is based on a dataset that is processed and configured automatically using Machine Learning services from IBM Cloud.

Abstract

Handling the problem of data imbalance is a crucial challenge in the development of classification models, especially in medical data such as stroke detection. This study proposes a hybrid resampling approach of SMOTE (Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique) and NearMiss to improve the accuracy of K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm on stroke datasets. Our hybrid resampling approach aims to overcome the shortcomings of each resampling technique, with SMOTE generating minority class samples and NearMiss subtracting samples from the majority class. We test this approach on a stroke dataset that has class imbalance. The method was evaluated using K-NN. The experimental results show that the hybrid approach can improve the accuracy of K-NN in predicting the minority class compared to the conventional approach. It shows that adjusting these parameters can significantly affect the performance of the hybrid approach. In this study, providing the highest accuracy in SMOTE with K-1 neighbors resulted in a 100% improvement in accuracy, followed by a 97% improvement with K-2, and a 93% accuracy with K-3. On the other hand, the undersampling approach using NearMiss showed 100% accuracy improvement with K-1, followed by 74% improvement with K-2, and 76% accuracy with K-3. In conclusion, the use of SMOTE proved to be more consistent in improving accuracy with higher K values. In this case, it is important to consider various parameters in choosing the right resampling technique to handle data imbalance.

Abstract

The development of online media training for digital marketing training for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Medan aims to increase understanding and skills in digital marketing strategies to improve competitiveness and business sustainability in the digital era. The advantages of online media training include ease of access, cost efficiency, and scalability that allows reaching more participants simultaneously. The implementation of online media training is expected to increase participants' knowledge and skills, improve the quality of SME products and services, and increase the effectiveness of digital marketing. The research findings show that online media training provides benefits in improving the competitiveness and business growth of SMEs in Medan. Recommendations include wider promotion, periodic evaluation, development of relevant content, and expert involvement to continue to enhance the positive contribution of online media training in improving SMEs' competencies in digital marketing.

Abstract

AMH (Literacy Rate) is the percentage or proportion of individuals in a population who have the ability to read and write. In particular, literacy rates are often used to measure the literacy level of a region or country. Literacy rates are one of the important things for economic growth and reducing poverty rates. AMH is also a factor that influences life expectancy. This research aims to predict the percentage of AMH aged 15 years and over using the K-Near Neighbor (KNN) method specifically in the Sulawesi Island area, namely Southeast Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi and Gorontalo. This classification uses data taken from the website of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of the Republic of Indonesia, namely data on the AMH percentage of the population aged over 15 years in the Sulawesi Island area in 2017-2023. The working principle of K-Nearest Neighbor is to find the shortest distance between the test data and the training data. The results of this research showed the prediction of the percentage of AMH (literacy rate) of the population aged over 15 years in the Sulawesi Island area in the following year (2024). Meanwhile, test results using MAPE show that the prediction of the AMH percentage in 2024 by the KNN algorithm has quite good accuracy. The MAPE calculation results for the prediction of the AMH percentage in 2024 are 0.594307365%.

Abstract

Materials are needed to help students in understanding the object of their lessons. In vocational education, English is regarded as one of the subject intended to specific purpose which depends on the major of the students. To that aim, specific materials are more vital compared to the general one. This present study lies the main objective to design the materials to study English virtually for business in Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif. Similarly, it is also projected to create an application with android-based system which can be used either online or offline. Before designing the materials, students were asked to answer the questions which help the researcher to sort out kinds of topics included. There are forty students involved in an interview. By applying qualitative method, it is found that most of the students look for the authentic-related materials to study English. In order to fulfil that, the researcher finally designed and made the concept to the materials selected. The result indicates that students in vocational need more specific materials which attractive and practical based. Additionally, this research is projected to shed the light on how to enhance the learning experiences of vocational students in virtual learning.

Abstract

Health is the most crucial aspect of life, as it signifies a state of well-being and vitality. Gastric diseases pose a significant health concern, often requiring prompt and accurate diagnosis for effective treatment. In this study, an expert system utilizing the forward chaining method is developed to aid in diagnosing gastric diseases. The system aims to streamline the diagnostic process, providing users with timely and reliable results to facilitate early intervention and management of stomach disorders. Through the integration of technology and medical expertise, this system offers a valuable tool in enhancing healthcare delivery and improving patient outcomes in the realm of gastric health. The research findings highlight the effectiveness of an expert system employing the forward chaining method in diagnosing gastric diseases. The system demonstrates the capability to efficiently identify and assess symptoms related to stomach disorders, offering users a reliable and accessible platform for obtaining accurate diagnostic results. By leveraging current knowledge base rules and user-provided symptom data, the system enhances the diagnostic process, potentially reducing both time and costs associated with diagnosing gastric diseases. This study underscores the significance of technological advancements in healthcare, particularly in the realm of gastric health, by providing a valuable tool for early detection and management of stomach disorders.

Abstract

This research delves into the realm of data integrity enhancement within E-Presence Systems by conducting a comprehensive study on the implementation of JSON Web Token (JWT) in the backend API. The use of JWT as an authentication and authorization mechanism aims to fortify the security posture of E-Presence Systems, ensuring reliable and tamper-resistant data transactions. The study investigates the impact of JWT on data integrity, exploring its role in preventing unauthorized access and mitigating potential security vulnerabilities. Through empirical analysis and practical implementation, this research sheds light on the efficacy of JWT in safeguarding the backend API of E-Presence Systems, thereby contributing to the evolution of secure and resilient electronic presence solutions.

Abstract

A person who memorizes the Qur'an is guaranteed to enter heaven by Allah, as well as being the best among other people, because of this virtue, many believers flock to memorize the Qur'an. Likewise, the Hamalatul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School makes memorizing the Qur'an its flagship program. However, there are several shortcomings of the rote memorization system which is still manual, including memorization books which are often lost, students who do not make deposits are not known so they are not subject to sanctions and the students' guardians cannot monitor their sons' activities while they are at the Islamic boarding school. Given these problems, this research aims to develop a monitoring system for tahfidz assessment and santri activities. The research method used in this research is the Research and Development method with a waterfall development model with application testing using black-box, while data collection is through interviews, literature studies and field observations. The conclusion obtained from this research is that the monitoring system for tahfidz assessments and website-based activities in Islamic boarding schools is to help Islamic boarding school administrators manage memorization data and student activities and the guardians of Islamic boarding schools can monitor their sons who are in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) find out how the process of official travel for employees of the Regional Revenue Agency of North Sumatra Province is, (2) design a decision support system for a website system in the process of implementing official travel for employees of the Regional Revenue Agency of North Sumatra Province. This research method uses quantitative research. Data analysis technique using the Entropy-Waspas Method. The sample used in the research consisted of 27 alternatives. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews and literature study. Next, a simulation of the Waspas entropy calculation was obtained by carrying out (1) determining alternatives and (2) determining criteria. The researchers obtained the results that (1) Using the Entropy Waspas Method in the support system for determining BAPENDA employees entitled to travel on business can make it easier for BAPENDA to select employees who have the right to travel on business and (2) the system calculation results show the same results between system calculations and manual calculations seen from the highest ranking value.
