Abstract

This study examined the effect of financial performance, environmental performance, and carbon emission disclosure on firm value. The research population consists of energy and basic materials sector companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2021–2023, with a final sample of 33 companies. Data were obtained from financial reports, sustainability reports accessed via IDX and company websites, as well as PROPER KLHK documentation. The study employs a quantitative approach with panel data regression analysis. The findings reveal that financial performance has a significant positive effect on firm value, whereas environmental performance and carbon emission disclosure do not demonstrate significant effects. Beyond its empirical contribution, this study also offers implications for business education, particularly in aligning sustainability and financial analysis with cognitive learning preferences. By integrating these findings into diverse instructional modalities, educators can foster a deeper understanding of the interplay between financial performance, environmental responsibility, and corporate value among future professionals.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the application of gamification in English learning as a strategy to increase student motivation and engagement in the digital era. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that gamification has a significant positive impact on the classroom atmosphere, learning motivation, and student participation. Through the implementation of game elements such as points, levels, badges, leaderboards, and quiz-based challenges, the learning atmosphere becomes more lively, fun, and interactive. Observations found that students were more enthusiastic in participating in learning activities, showed courage to speak English, and were more focused when facing mission-based challenges. Interviews with teachers revealed that gamification made it easier to monitor student progress while encouraging them to be more diligent in learning vocabulary, grammar, and speaking skills. Interviews with students also confirmed that they felt more motivated because the learning was similar to a familiar digital game. Documentation in the form of grade notes and activity reports showed an increase in student engagement and an increase in the average class score, especially in vocabulary mastery. Thus, it can be concluded that gamification is an innovative strategy that is effective in increasing student motivation, engagement, and learning outcomes in English learning in the digital era.

Abstract

Honorifics are an essential aspect of sociolinguistic studies because they represent how language reflects respect, hierarchy, and cultural values within a community. This study focuses specifically on identifying the types of honorific addresses employed in male communication within the English Literature Department of Universitas Pamulang. By limiting the scope to the categorization of address terms, the research aimed to contribute a detailed understanding of how men employ different honorifics in both formal and informal settings. A qualitative descriptive method was applied to explore these linguistic patterns. The participants consisted of 58 male respondents, including students, lecturers, and staff, who were selected purposively to represent a range of academic and social backgrounds. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and direct observations, and were then analyzed thematically to identify recurring address terms. The findings reveal that male speakers at Universitas Pamulang utilize a variety of honorifics, such as Bang, Bro, Mas, Pak, Om, Kak, and Kang. These forms indicate a strong tendency to differentiate address terms based on social closeness, hierarchy, and cultural habit.

Abstract

Inclusive education in Indonesia represents a strategic policy aimed at ensuring the rights of all children, including students with special needs, to receive equitable and dignified educational services. However, its implementation continues to face various challenges in terms of management at the institutional level. This study seeks to examine in depth the policies and practical implementation of inclusive education management in Indonesia through a literature analysis approach. The subjects of this study include more than ten scholarly articles, policy reports, and relevant academic publications published between 2015 and 2025, selected through purposive sampling to ensure empirical data and high contextual relevance. Data were collected through a systematic review of these publications, using a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection instruments included document review sheets and a literature synthesis template, while content analysis methods were employed to identify key themes and to analyse theoretical correlations among factors influencing the effectiveness of inclusive education implementation. The findings reveal that, despite the existence of supportive regulations, the implementation of inclusive education remains hindered by managerial factors such as limited teacher training, budgetary support, and school leadership. A positive correlation was found between participatory managerial planning and the successful integration of students with special needs into regular classrooms. In conclusion, inclusive education in Indonesia requires the strengthening of data-driven management and policies that are responsive to local contexts. These findings have significant implications for policymakers and education practitioners in building a more equitable, adaptive, and sustainable education system.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a crucial issue faced by many schools, including vocational high schools in Cilegon City. This study aims to explore the role of interpersonal intelligence in mediating the influence of character strength and emotional intelligence on juvenile delinquency. Using a quantitative survey method, data were collected from 250 vocational high school students in Cilegon City through a validated questionnaire and analyzed using the SEM-PLS approach. The results showed that character strength has a negative and significant effect on juvenile delinquency with a coefficient value of -0.321, indicating that increasing character strength can significantly reduce the level of juvenile delinquency. In addition, emotional intelligence also showed a negative and significant effect on juvenile delinquency. This confirms that increasing emotional intelligence also contributes to reducing juvenile delinquency. Interpersonal intelligence itself has a negative and significant effect on juvenile delinquency with a coefficient value of -0.161, indicating that better interpersonal skills can reduce the tendency of delinquent behavior. Furthermore, character strength and emotional intelligence were found to have a positive and significant influence on interpersonal intelligence, with coefficient values of 0.370 and 0.484, respectively. Another important finding is the significant negative indirect effect of character strength and emotional intelligence on juvenile delinquency through interpersonal intelligence. This indicates that increasing character strength and emotional intelligence can reduce juvenile delinquency by increasing their interpersonal intelligence. This study concludes that strengthening students' character and emotional intelligence, as well as increasing interpersonal intelligence, are important strategies in reducing juvenile delinquency.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the internalization of prophetic values in the poems "Sang Utusan" and "Musim Panen" by Kuntowijoyo. The analysis employs a prophetic literary criticism perspective using a descriptive qualitative method. The prophetic values examined in this research include aspects of humanization, liberation, and transcendence. The results of the study indicate that humanization is reflected in the persona’s loving attitude, simplicity, and concern for the suffering of society or the underprivileged. Meanwhile, liberation is expressed as an appeal to break free from the shackles of materialism, hedonism, and the pursuit of power, in favor of a life with moral and spiritual meaning. Transcendence is revealed through the character's spiritual awareness, which enables them to receive and convey the will of God in a profound manner. Through the use of symbolism in the poems, Kuntowijoyo as the author demonstrates that prophetic values have the potential to reach the deepest dimensions of the reader’s self. Therefore, literary works are not merely expressions of aesthetic experience, but also serve as instruments for promoting social and spiritual transformation.

Abstract

Early reading skills play a crucial role in determining students' success in advanced reading. Therefore, teacher attention and intervention are essential in developing early reading skills. Early reading is seen as the primary foundation for subsequent learning, which must be built solidly and managed effectively. This study aims to improve reading skills in elementary school students. One approach offered is the application of the Synthetic Analytical Structure Method (SAS) combined with the use of website-based interactive media. This method is expected to significantly improve students' early reading skills. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, implemented in two cycles, each encompassing four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Research data were obtained through observation, interviews, assessment, and documentation techniques. The research results show that the use of the interactive web-based SAS method empirically improves students' reading skills in the early stages. This is demonstrated by the increase in completion rates from the pre-cycle (45%) to the second cycle (88%). This not only improved reading technique (pronounced letters and words), but also increased comprehension and desire to learn.

Abstract

Foreign Language Anxiety (FLA) encompasses feelings of fear, nervousness, and negative self-perceptions that can impede learners’ progress in acquiring a new language. Within the Indonesian educational landscape, where English is introduced as a foreign language, such anxiety presents a formidable obstacle to achieving language proficiency. This research explored the various types and intensities of foreign language anxiety experienced by eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 9 Pematangsiantar in their English learning journey. Employing descriptive qualitative approach, this research gathered data through surveys administered to eighth-grade students, complemented by classroom observations and open-ended student responses. The findings indicated that anxiety levels are most pronounced during speaking activities and examinations, primarily driven by limited vocabulary, apprehension about making mistakes, and classroom environment factors. The predominant manifestations of anxiety included communication apprehension and fear of negative evaluation, with many students expressing feelings of embarrassment and reluctance to actively participate. To cope, students resorted to strategies such as self-research, note-taking, and seeking help from peers; however, these methods tended to be simple and unstructured, limiting their effectiveness. The research underscored teachers’ role played in cultivating a supportive, non-threatening classroom atmosphere where students feel safe to practice English without fear of judgment. Ultimately, this research enriched understanding of foreign language anxiety within Indonesian educational context and provides valuable insights for teachers aiming to implement strategies that reduce anxiety and foster greater confidence among students in English learning.

Abstract

This study examined grammatical errors in recount texts written by 20 Management students at Malahayati University. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the analysis focused on vocabulary, mechanics, organization, grammar, and content. The results showed that while some students demonstrated good writing ability, many struggled, particularly with grammar and mechanics. Weaknesses were evident in verb tense usage, subject–verb agreement, and sentence structure, as well as in punctuation and capitalization. Differences in vocabulary and organization scores indicated varying levels of skill in word choice and text structuring. The findings highlight the need for targeted instructional strategies, especially grammar-focused lessons, explicit training in mechanics, and individualized support for vocabulary building and organizational skills. Identifying recurring error patterns allows for more effective teaching interventions aimed at improving students’ proficiency in recount writing.
