Abstract

The stamped batik industry in Purwokerto is a cultural heritage with strategic economic value in creating jobs and supporting the local economy. This study aimed to analyze the marketing strategy of the stamped batik industry and its impact on increasing labor income in Purwokerto City. The research method employed was a qualitative approach, utilizing a case study, which involved 50 informants comprising MSME owners, workers, consumers, local government officials, and academics. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model. The research results indicate that the stamped batik industry in Purwokerto comprises 47 UMKM, employing a total of 380 workers and generating a monthly production value of IDR 1.2 billion. The marketing strategies implemented include digital marketing (68% of UMKM), product diversification, and local brand development. The social media platforms Instagram (85%), Facebook (72%), and marketplaces (45%) are the main digital marketing channels. The implementation of marketing strategies has proven effective in increasing production volume by 35% and product sales value by 25-40%, which has a positive impact on increasing labor income through increased working hours, bonuses, and job stability. Supporting factors for industry development include government support, the availability of skilled human resources, adequate digital infrastructure, and a strong local culture. Meanwhile, the main inhibiting factors are limited capital, the quality of digital marketing human resources that still needs to be improved, competition with batik products from other regions, and dependence on imported raw materials. This study recommends improving the digital marketing capabilities of UMKM, providing continued government support in training and access to capital, and developing workforce skills in marketing and business management to create a sustainable business model for the Purwokerto stamped batik industry.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze in-depth the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the halal food sector in Purwokerto, Central Java. This location was chosen strategically, considering that Purwokerto, as an educational city and economic center in the Banyumas Residency area, has great potential for the development of the halal food industry. The halal food sector has become a primary focus due to the continued growth of the global halal market and Indonesian public awareness of the importance of halal food consumption. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon of halal food MSME development. The data collection method involved in-depth interviews with 15 halal food MSMEs selected purposively based on certain criteria such as business duration, product type, and operational scale. Field observations were conducted to observe daily operational practices, while a documentary study analyzed relevant documents such as business permits, halal certificates, and financial reports. The research identified three main challenges facing halal food MSMEs in Purwokerto. First, the complexity of the halal certification process, which involves high costs and complicated administrative procedures. Second, limited access to capital from formal financial institutions, which hinders business expansion. Third, low adoption of digital technology for marketing, which results in limited market reach. However, the research also identified significant opportunities in the form of increased consumer awareness of halal products and the local government's commitment to supporting the development of the sharia economy. Recommended development strategies include improving product quality through standardization, menu diversification to expand the target market, and optimizing the use of digital platforms to increase the visibility and accessibility of halal food products in Purwokerto.

Abstract

The Islamic capital market has experienced significant growth in recent decades as an investment alternative compliant with Islamic principles. This development demonstrates that the Islamic financial system is not only an option for Muslims but is also beginning to attract the attention of global investors seeking more ethical and sustainable investment instruments. This article comprehensively analyzes the development of Islamic investment and capital markets, identifying their underlying principles and evaluating the challenges and opportunities faced in the context of the modern global economy. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, this study demonstrates that the Islamic capital market not only provides a halal investment alternative for Muslims but also offers stability and sustainability that can attract investors from diverse backgrounds. The unique characteristics of the Islamic capital market, which avoids riba (usury), gharar (gharar), and maysir (risk of gambling), create a strong foundation for more stable and sustainable long-term investment. These principles not only ensure compliance with Islamic teachings but also encourage more transparent and responsible business practices However, challenges such as global standardization, investor literacy, and product innovation still need to be addressed to maximize the potential of the Islamic capital market. Global standardization is crucial given that differences in sharia interpretations across countries can hinder cross-border market growth. Furthermore, the low level of investor literacy regarding sharia products requires ongoing educational efforts. Product innovation is also necessary to meet the increasingly diverse and dynamic needs of investors. By addressing these challenges, the Sharia capital market has significant potential to continue growing and make a significant contribution to the stability of the global financial system.

Abstract

Barakatology, or the study of blessings (barakah), is a fundamental aspect of religious life that requires a deep understanding of its concept, implementation, and implications in religious practice. This research examines the theological, spiritual, and practical dimensions of barakatology in the context of modern religious life through a comprehensive descriptive-analytical approach. The study reveals that barakatology plays a multidimensional role in religious life, not only as an abstract theological concept but also as a practical guide that can be implemented in everyday life. The analysis shows that understanding blessings can enrich an individual's spiritual dimension and provide deeper meaning to religion, creating a more intimate relationship between worshippers and the Creator. The research findings indicate that barakatology serves as a bridge connecting the vertical (relationship with God) and horizontal (relationships with others) aspects of religious life. Implementing the principles of barakatology has been proven to improve the quality of spiritual and social life for religious communities, provide inner peace, and strengthen moral values within society. This study concludes that barakatology is a discipline with high relevance in the context of contemporary religious life, offering spiritual solutions to modern challenges and providing a solid framework for the development of a holistic and sustainable spirituality.

Abstract

This study focused on how generation gaps affect business sustainability and growth, with special attention to the role of entrepreneurship education and intergenerational learning within the family. The research aims to analyze the challenges of family business sustainability, particularly in dealing with differences in interests between generations in Mrs. Teti's kiosk business. As a family business, the challenges faced are often related to the involvement of different generations who bring diverse priorities, values, goals, and approaches to learning about business practices. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews with business owners and potential successors to understand their views on business management, succession planning, and strategic decision-making. The research findings show that differences in interests between the first and second generations especially concerning the modernization of business practices while preserving traditional methods create tensions that can threaten the long-term sustainability of the business. From an educational perspective, these tensions reflect gaps in how entrepreneurial knowledge is transmitted: while the first generation relies on tacit knowledge and experiential learning, the second generation emphasizes formal knowledge, digital literacy, and innovative approaches. In addition, challenges related to adapting to market changes, integrating technology, and preparing a structured succession plan also emerge as key factors that need to be addressed so that the business can survive across generations. This study provides insight into how family businesses can manage generational differences by fostering entrepreneurship education within the family—through mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative learning—to develop strategies that ensure business sustainability amidst evolving family dynamics and business environments.

Abstract

Succession in family business is a strategic process to ensure company sustainability through mature and considerate planning that takes into account family expectations, business interests, and successor readiness. In the past, men played a larger role in leadership, but now women also hold increasingly significant leadership positions. This shift reflects a change in how individual ability is viewed, no longer based solely on gender hierarchy, but on how an ideal and capable successor can bring positive change to the company. The research method used is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. This research was conducted at the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), with the study object being family business founders and family business successor candidates who are students of the 2022 Entrepreneurship Study Program. The sampling method applied in this research is purposive sampling. The results show that the majority of family businesses have their own planning in selecting a successor by providing formal education and practical experience from an early age. Furthermore, 67% of family business owners do not consider gender as a determining factor in choosing a company successor. For them, mental readiness and commitment to running the business are the main requirements for a family business successor.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine how the Merdeka Curriculum provides a holistic framework by combining language and literature learning, with the goal of enhancing literacy skills and at the same time nurturing cultural awareness. Using a systematic literature review method, the study reviewed scholarly works—including articles, research reports, and scientific publications published between 2015 and 2025—selected through purposive sampling based on predetermined eligibility criteria. Data were analysed thematically through coding, categorisation, and identification of recurring themes. The findings reveal that integrating language and literature in the Merdeka Curriculum consistently enhances students’ critical reading, expressive writing, and comprehension of social and cultural contexts. The incorporation of digital technologies and interactive media further broadens access and encourages active participation in integrative learning. Nevertheless, several challenges persist, such as limited teacher competence, insufficient professional training, and inadequate supporting facilities. The study concludes that the success of language and literature integration within the Merdeka Curriculum is strongly influenced by teacher preparedness, supportive educational policies, and adequate infrastructure. It further emphasises the necessity of continuous professional development for teachers, the establishment of competency-based assessment models, and the expansion of empirical research to evaluate the broader effectiveness of integrative approaches. These findings provide significant implications for policymakers, educators, and researchers seeking to enhance both literacy skills and cultural awareness in the Indonesian educational context.

Abstract

Religious moderation is a crucial discourse in addressing polarization and intolerance within pluralistic societies. This study systematically reviews scholarly works to examine the conceptual, practical, and policy-oriented intersections between religious moderation and multiculturalism. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by PRISMA protocols, the research identified, screened, and analysed studies published from 2015 to 2025 across databases such as Scopus, Google Scholar, DOAJ, and Garuda. Inclusion criteria focused on peer-reviewed works addressing religious moderation, multicultural education, and social cohesion, while data extraction captured objectives, theoretical frameworks, methods, and findings. Thematic analysis was then applied to synthesise key patterns and gaps. The findings indicate that religious moderation, when contextualised through multicultural values, significantly enhances social integration, interfaith tolerance, and civic dialogue. Evidence suggests that its effectiveness is reinforced by educational frameworks, inclusive policy initiatives, and community-based empowerment strategies. Moreover, the analysis highlights that contextual adaptation to local culture and religious narratives is essential to ensure the acceptance and sustainability of moderation initiatives. This review concludes that embedding religious moderation within multicultural frameworks not only mitigates identity-based conflicts but also strengthens substantive democracy in diverse societies. It further underscores the necessity for policymakers, educators, and religious leaders to adopt participatory and culturally grounded strategies to promote moderation values. By mapping theoretical developments and empirical practices, this study contributes to advancing an integrative conceptual model that unites religious moderation and multiculturalism for fostering inclusive and harmonious societies.
