Abstract

Studi ini dilakukan dari bulan Mei hingga Juni 2023 dan meneliti bagaimana usaha pembibitan tanaman cengkeh memengaruhi pendapatan petani cengkeh di Kelurahan Tuweley, Kecamatan Baolan, Kabupaten Tolitoli. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui sensus, dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 9 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usaha pembibitan tanaman cengkeh memberikan kontribusi paling besar pada pendapatan keluarga petani, mencapai Rp 677.735.834 per tahun atau 50,13% dari semua pendapatan.

Abstract

The use of herbal cosmetics is one of the lifestyles that need to be improved in order to implement back to nature. One of the pharmaceutical biotechnology products that can be developed as an antibacterial for Shigella dysentriae and Vibrio cholera made from butterfly pea flower kombucha is bath soap. The use of natural cosmetics is influenced by several factors of the cultivation location used as a sample in the scope of this study. The locations for taking samples of butterfly pea flowers in this study were Pekuncen, Ciwedus, and Cigeblak villages in Cilegon City, Banten. The three locations for cultivating the plant were used to provide information on its potential as an antibacterial in inhibiting the growth of both test bacteria. The study showed that bath soap containing the active ingredient of butterfly pea flower kombucha in each formula and three cultivation locations showed a positive correlation as a pharmaceutical biotechnology product and antibacterial against Shigella dysentriae and Vibrio cholera organisms. The optimal formula to inhibit the growth of both test microorganisms, especially those from butterfly pea flowers cultivated in Pekuncen Village, was a concentration of 40%. This is due to differences in plant cultivation locations, especially the altitude of the place producing different metabolite compound content, especially in this study as antibacterial in inhibiting the growth of both test bacteria.

Abstract

Arowana (Scleropages spp.) as an ornamental fish native to Indonesia has experienced a population decline. Whereas the market demand for arowana never subsides. Bornean arowana and Papuan arowana, both of which must be immediately conserved so that their populations can increase again. The purpose of this paper is to reveal some aspects of their biology, threats and conservation efforts. Various efforts to conserve arowana have been made as well as the role of the government with binding regulations. It is just waiting for the implementation to implement the existing regulations, and the rule of law in the event of a violation.

Abstract

Najawa carp is one of the carp developed at BPTPB Cangkringan and has economic value. Market demand for Javanese carp is at the larval stage. This is the reason why fish spawning activities are routinely carried out to obtain larvae that are ready to be sold. Business analysis needs to be done to evaluate the feasibility of the najawa carp seeding business. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of the najawa carp seeding business with a natural spawning system. The data taken were primary data, namely direct observation and secondary data obtained from interviews. Data analysis included investment costs, fixed costs, variable costs, total costs, R/C ratio, break event point, payback period, and cost of production. The results of the analysis showed a payback period value of 2.08, an R/C ratio value of 1.22, a BEP unit of 2,053,120.61, and a BEP price of 151,564,296.4. The najawa carp seeding business with a natural spawning system is feasible to be developed.

Abstract

Spiny lobster (Panulirus homarus) is one of the marine commodities that has a high demand value and export commodities to Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Korea. However, most of the spiny lobster still comes from natural catches which these productivity is decreasing. Therefore, spiny lobster farming one of strategies to fulfil the high demand for lobster and maintain the spiny lobster population in nature. Spiny lobster cultivation technology can be carried out in floating net cages, fixed net cages and bottom/sinking net cages. The bottom cage system was to be the best methods because it can prevent cultured organisms from predators, temperature fluctuations and surface pollutants such as trash and oil spills.  The objective of this study is to evaluate the spiny lobster culture system using bottom net cages, especially in the Bali Strait Waters.  This research was conducted from 9 August - 9 October 2021 at the Bottom Net Cage System Lobster Cultivation Pilot Unit, ‘PESONA BAHARI’ Banyuwangi, East Java. The method used in this research is descriptive explorative and comparative through primary and secondary data collection. Parameters observed included specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio and survival rate. The data obtained were then descriptively analysed using table. The results showed that the sand lobster culture system with round bottom net cages in the Bali Strait Waters showed higher SGR, FCR and SR values than the box shape.

Abstract

In agriculture, ANOVA is often used to determine the effect of different treatments (categories) on the response (continuous). Research in the field found many cases that aim to evaluate the difference in treatment where the response in the form of data count. In this study, ANOVA will conduct a one-way ANOVA analysis study on the response in the form of count data by applying one-way ANOVA standard, transformation  and poisson approach. The data used are six datasets to observe the number of corn pollen sprouts. The results showed the statistical decisions of the six datasets gave consistent decisions on each method. The performance of the standard one-way ANOVA method and poisson approach provides the same conclusions to each dataset. Based on AIC and BIC criteria, poisson approach is recommended in response data count especially count data that contains zero value. This method does not require assumptions of normality and homoscedasticity to be met.

Abstract

White shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is one of the leading export commodities of aquaculture in Indonesia. The success of the White shrimp cultivation system is largely determined by proper planning, especially in terms of the suitability of technical aspects of the construction side. Therefore, an analysis of the technical aspects (construction) of earthen and semi-concrete ponds is needed to determine the growth performance and survival of the cultivated White shrimp. This study aims to evaluate the maintenance of White shrimp up to DOC 58 in earthen and semi-concrete ponds in East Lampung Regency. The study was conducted from July to September 2022 at Tambak Suparman Farm located in Sriminosari Village, Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung. The method used in this study is descriptive exploratory through the collection of primary and secondary data. The parameters observed include Mean Body Weight (MBW), Average Daily Growth (ADG), feed conversion ratio (RKP) and survival rate (TKH). The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively in the form of tables. The results of the study showed that the maintenance of vaname shrimp in soil and semi-concrete ponds for 58 days showed MBW values ​​of 9.76 g and 8.01 g; ADG of 0.14 g/day and 0.11 g/day; SR of 64.3% and 77.9%; FCR of 1.65 and 1.49; EP during the maintenance obtained was 60% and 66.89%.

Abstract

One of the efforts to reduce production costs in raising vaname shrimp is to use low protein feed with the addition of supplements to improve feed quality. Siamese catfish processing by-products in the form of silage have advantages such as a distinctive aroma and high nutrient absorption. The purpose of the study was to determine the addition of silage by-products of Siamese catfish processing to feed on the growth and survival of vaname shrimp. The treatments tested included the addition of Siamese catfish by-product silage to 25% protein feed at a dose of 10% (A), 20% (B), 30% (C), 40% (D) per kg of feed. The test shrimp (weight 2.30 ± 0.19 g) was given 5% of body weight with a frequency of 5 times a day. Maintenance was carried out for 7 weeks in an aquarium measuring 30×25×25 cm3 containing 12 L of water. The results showed that the highest growth was obtained in the addition of catfish by-product silage at a dose of 40% (2.81 g) and the lowest at a dose of 10% (2.00 g) (p<0.05). The lowest feed conversion ratio was in the 30% dose treatment (2.93) compared to the 10% dose (4.09). The survival rate obtained for all treatments ranged from 86.7-93.3%. The use of silage in feed to obtain growth and survival and low feed conversion ratio in vaname shrimp can be done by adding silage at a dose of 30% / kg of feed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi kadar air, kadar protein, kadar serat, kadar lemak, dan kadar debu, pakan alternatif DOC, telur ayam, dan usus ayam pada ikan lele (Clarias sp.). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Juli 2022 – Februari 2023 di Laboratorium Bioteknologi Terpadu Peternakan, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Hasanuddin. Metode dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode analitik. Berbagai alternatif pakan yang di uji coba dianalisis proksimat untuk mengidentifikasi kandungan nutrisi yang terkandung di dalam pakan. Pengujian proksimat menggunakan metode Kjeldahl.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pakan alternatif DOC, telur ayam dan usus ayam mengandung kadar protein yang lebih tinggi dengan kisaran 42% - 54%, kemudian kadar lemak berkisar 16%-19%, kadar abu berkisar 10%-22%, kadar air berkisar 8%-9%, sedangkan kadar serat kasar berkisar 3%-4%. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pakan alternatif DOC, telur ayam, dan usus ayam mengandung kadar protein yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kandungan lainnya, sedangkan kadar serat kasar memiliki nilai yang paling rendah. Diharapkan selanjutnya dapat dilakukan analisis uji lanjut untuk melihat pengaruh dari ketiga pakan dan juga dapat dibandingkan dari segi kemudahan untuk memperoleh pakan dan harga yang harus dibayarkan.

Abstract

Manajemen pemeliharaan indukan sapi potong merupakan hal penting dalam pengembangan sapi potong secara nasional. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi penerapan sistem manajemen pemeliharaan di Loka Pengujian Standar Instrumen (LPSI) Ruminansia Besar, Pasuruan, Jawa Timur. Aspek yang diteliti meliputi sistem perkandangan, pemberian pakan dan air minum, perkawinan, penanganan kebuntingan, pasca melahirkan, serta manajemen kesehatan. Penelitian dilakukan melalui observasi, partisipasi, dan wawancara  secara langsung pada bulan September hingga Desember 2022. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem perkandangan menggunakan tipe tail to tail, dengan desain yang sesuai dengan standar kebutuhan indukan bunting dan laktasi. Pemberian pakan dilakukan dengan metode component feeding, di mana pakan konsentrat diberikan terlebih dahulu, kemudian hijauan dua jam setelahnya. Rasio pakan yang digunakan untuk induk bunting adalah 60:40 dan induk laktasi 65:35, dengan tambahan mineral untuk mendukung kesehatan reproduksi dan produksi susu. Proses perkawinan dilakukan secara alami dan pemeriksaan kebuntingan menggunakan palpasi rektal dan ultrasonografi (USG). Induk yang mencapai akhir kebuntingan dipindahkan ke kandang khusus untuk mempermudah pemantauan kelahiran. Manajemen kesehatan mencakup pencegahan, pemantauan kondisi kesehatan, serta penanganan penyakit dan pengobatan. Secara keseluruhan, manajemen pemeliharaan di LPSI Ruminansia Besar telah diterapkan dengan baik sesuai standar dan dapat menjadi model pengembangan indukan sapi potong di daerah lain.
