Abstract

Nurul Islam Islamic boarding school Jember is one of the modern Islamic boarding schools that teaches religion, science, and technology. Organic vegetable cultivation training using Takakura technology and a verticulture planting system aims to increase the knowledge awareness, and skills of the students. Besides, this activity has a positive impact on health, waste management, environmental harmony, vegetable crop production, land effectiveness and adds economic value. Takakura technology produces odorless and nutritious compost products. Takakura compost is used as a growing medium in verticulture pipes. The skills of cultivating organic vegetables using Takakura technology and a verticulture planting system are very useful for the students. Technically, the implementation of this program includes material presentation, leaflet giving, and hands-on practice. Cultivation that is carried out includes making media, preparing seeds, preparing planting media, transplanting seeds into verticulture media, and plant care. The result of training activity can improve the knowledge and competence of student to produce organic fertilizer and vegetable through the technology that transfer for them.

Abstract

Petani kentang di Desa Ngadisari selama ini menggunakan benih kentang dari daerah lain atau benih dari pertanaman sebelumnya dalam budidaya kentang, sehingga kualitas benih tidak dapat terjamin. Selain itu, benih yang digunakan mudah terserang penyakit sehingga menyebabkan produktivitas kentang turun. Harga benih kentang yang mahal juga menjadi masalah bagi petani. Produksi benih kentang menggunakan teknologi aeroponik merupakan salah satu solusi dalam meningkatkan wawasan petani di bidang teknologi pertanian, meningkatkan produktivitas kentang, serta kemandirian petani dalam memproduksi benih kentang yang bermutu. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan beberapa pendekatan yaitu sosialisasi tentang persiapan bibit kentang, pemasangan aeroponik, penanaman planlet, dan pemberian nutrisi pada tanaman. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian, anggota kelompok tani Jaya Makmur bertambah wawasannya tentang teknologi pembibitan kentang serta memahami tentang pentingnya penggunaan benih bermutu untuk meningkatkan produktivitas kentang. Penerapan teknologi aeroponik dalam produksi benih kentang di Desa Ngadisari mampu meningkatkan produktivitas kentang, mengasah keterampilan petani dalam menghasilkan benih kentang yang bermutu, serta memberikan motivasi bagi petani untuk menjalankan usaha di bidang penyediaan benih kentang.

Abstract

Cauliflower is a annual vegetable crop that is rich in vitamins and minerals.  This is one of the commodities exported by Indonesia. Fertilization is a determinant of the success of vegetable farming. The use of chemical fertilizers that are not balanced with organic fertilizers can have a negative impact on the environment. Vinasse is an industrial waste that is rich in organic matter, potassium, calcium and micro nutrients and can be used as liquid organic fertilizer. This study aims to determine the effect of giving several doses of vinasse on the growth and production of cauliflower. The experimental design used is a single factor Randomized Block Design (RCBD). The treatment dose used consisted of four levels namely, 0 l / ha (V0), 15000 l / ha (V1), 20000 l / ha (V2), 25000 l / ha (V3). The results showed that there was a very significant effect on plant height at 14 DAP and 21 DAP, and on the variabels of flower weight per sample, flower weight per bed, and fresh stover weight per sample, and showed a significant effect on the number of leaf  variabel on age 14 DAP and 21 DAP. The best treatment of vinasse fertilizer is 25000 l / ha (V3).

Abstract

Pollen managements consisted of suitable harvest timing, pollen drying to a certain misturecontent, pollen viability testing, and pollen storage. Maize pollen was sensitive todesiccation. This experiment was aimed to determine preservation technique in reducingpollen water content while maintaining its viability. Maize variety which used in thisresearch was BIMA 3 as male line hybrid maize. Pollen viability testing used potassiumiodide (KI) 1%. This experiment used randomized block design with 3 factors and 2 replicates, i.e. boron (H3BO3) fertilizers (0 and 3 kg ha-1), drying techniques (MgCl2, silicagel, zeolite and preservation in air-cond room (18±1 °C; RH 43%), and drying periods (0,2, 4, 6 and 8 hours). The observation response of this experiment were viability and pollen weight changing. The result showed that there is no interaction between three factors to observation response, while drying technique and drying period combinations showed interactions to observation response. Pollen maize drying used silica gel for 4 hours was able to decline much pollen weight and maintain pollen viability better than other techniques.

Abstract

Model logit multinomial digunakan untuk memodelkan sifat hubungan antara peubah respon politomus dan peubah penjelas. Ada dua model logit multinomial untuk peubah respon politomus yang strukturnya tak berurut: model logit terampat dan model logit bersyarat. Kedua model mempunyai struktur serupa, ,  j = 1, …, k, tetapi berbeda dalam karakteristik peubah penjelasnya. Logit terampat menggunakan karakteristik dari individu (subyek) sebagai peubah penjelas, sedang logit bersyarat menggunakan karakteristik dari pilihan individu.  Tulisan ini ingin menyajikan penggunaan keduanya dalam model regresi yang sering dibutuhkan dalam penelitian-penelitian sosial dan kependidikan. Ilustrasi melalui data hipotetik digunakan untuk memperjelas kebutuhan, kegunaan, metode analisis data sampai pada interpretasi hasil model regrgesi. Sajian komputasi yang ringkas dilakukan melalui dua software yang populer yaitu SAS untuk model regresi generalized-logit. Sedangkan untuk model regresi logit bersyarat dapat dilakukan dengan SAS dan SPSS. Baik SAS dan SPSS menyajikan hasil analsis regresi yang sama untuk model regresi logit bersyarat.

Abstract

The use of learning media by utilizing technology is very important needed during a pandemic. Learning media can be in the form of visual, audio, and audio visual. Attractive learning media can create memorable and easier-to-understand learning activities. Canva is a graphic design application that helps users to create various types of creative materials online. Using Canva as a learning medium can make it easier for teachers to design learning media. Almost all teachers at SMPN 1 Tegalampel have not been able to make video-based learning media so that the delivery of material to students is still low. This activity aims to provide training in making learning media using Canva for teachers at SMPN 1 Tegalampel, Bondowoso. The training activities were carried out in several stages, namely socialization, practice, and evaluation. The results of the activity showed that the training participants got an increase in knowledge and skills related to learning media using the Canva application.

Abstract

Permentan No. 67/ Permentan / SM.050 / 12/2016 states that the women farmer group is part of the farmer institution. The development of farmers aimed to(a) strengthening farmer groups and become independent farmer institutions; (b) increasing the ability of members in agribusiness development, and (c) increasing the ability of farmers' groups to carry out their functions. Sukowiryo Village is one of the villages in Jelbuk Subdistrict, Jember District that hasn’t been introduced yet to the initiation of women farmer groups as a forum for the cooperation of its members. This study aimed to analyze how the perceptions of the initiation of women farmer groups in Sukowiryo Village, Jelbuk Sub-District, Jember District. This study was used as a quantitative approach with purposive sampling method and used PLS analysis. The results showed that the relative advantages, observability, and compatibility have a direct influence on the initiation of the formation of female farmer groups, this is due to respondents have good perceptions, that the initiation of the women farmer groups that reflected in the planning and the types of activities that are considered to be beneficial later easy to observe and very much by the needs of the community.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksakanan di sekolah pedesaan merupakan salah satu program pemberdayaaan masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan wawasan dan pengetahuan masyarakat pedesaan. Sekolah tingkat menengah kejuruan satu-satunya di Desa Tugusari adalah SMK Teknologi Pertanian Tugusari. Keterbatasan sarana kegiatan belajar siswa tentang literatur di bidang pertanian perlu ditunjang dengan adanya perpustakaan mini pertanian. Perpustakaan mini pertanian sangat diharapkan dapat membantu meningkatkan minat baca, menunjang pembelajaran dan menambah wawasan siswa-siswi SMK Teknologi Pertanian Tugusari. Keterbatasaan media pembelajaran juga sangat penting dikarenakan harga alat dan bahan untuk praktikum cukup mahal. Sebagai alternatif, media pembelajaran berbasis lingkungan menjadi solusi yang sangat membantu dan mudah untuk diterapkan. Media pembelajaran dengan teknik pengawetan tumbuhan disebut herbarium. Herbarium penting digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran bagi siswa dalam memahami struktur tanaman maupun identifikasi bagian-bagian tanaman secara umum maupun karakter khusus tanaman terutama untuk tanaman obat. Siswa-siswi SMK Teknologi Pertanian Tugusari meningkat pengetahuannya setelah mendapatkan materi dan praktikum tentang herbarium kering. Pemberian bantuan buku dan pendirian perpustakaan mini pertanian diharapkan dapat menunjang pembelajaran di bidang pertanian dan pengetahuan umum lainnya.

Abstract

The increase of Indonesian’s porang export has led into a new opportunity for better prosperity of local farmers. Thus, the demand for porang’s bulbil/ katak has risen due to its function for vegetative propagation. This study aimed to observe the growing and phytochemicals properties of porang tubers from bulbil with 10 bulbil weight categories samples, which were 0.5 g, 1 g, 1.5 g, 2 g, 2.5 g, 3 g, 3.5 g, 4 g, 4.5 g, and 5 g. The parameters observed were statistically analyzed in PAST 4.03. This study was conducted for three months and the results showed that samples from bulbil weighing 5 g had significant higher value than the others for the plant height, crown diameter, and stem diameter, but bulbil samples with other weights did not show any significant difference in porang tuber growth. Phytochemical’s analysis for dissolved protein resulting in 0.5 g weight sample was the best of all but random results for carbohydrate, antioxidants, polyphenol, and saponin.
