Abstract

The imbalanced position of consumers compared to business actors has led to the potential for disputes between consumers and businesses, known as consumer disputes. These disputes arise when consumers demand compensation for damages, pollution, and losses incurred from consuming goods or utilizing services. According to Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, a consumer dispute can be resolved either through the Court or out of Court. Resolving consumer disputes outside of Court is the absolute competence of the Consumer Dispute Resolution Agency. (BPSK). Normatively, the presence of BPSK provides many benefits to consumers; however, in practice, this is not the case, and in many instances, it often fails to provide legal protection to consumers. This includes issues related to the distribution of BPSK, which is not easily accessible to consumers as it is not available in all districts/cities. There are several contradictory regulations in its management, including human resource constraints, that, in many ways, need an understanding of the legal aspects of dispute resolution, especially regarding its position as a quasi-judicial body. Therefore, as a form of legal protection for consumers, BPSK must be empowered in various aspects.

Abstract

The Resolution of Music and Song Copyright Disputes Through Arbitration in Providing Legal Protection for Owners in Indonesia is traditionally managed by the Commercial Court, which is often criticized for being slow, costly, and inefficient, thereby failing to offer optimal legal protection for creators. This situation highlights the need for alternative dispute resolution methods. This study analyzes the challenges of resolving copyright disputes through the Commercial Court and examines arbitration as a faster, more effective alternative for protecting music and song creators' rights in Indonesia. Using a normative legal research approach with legislative and conceptual methods, the research involved literature studies of primary and secondary legal materials. Data were analyzed qualitatively through descriptive analysis and deductive reasoning to assess legal synchronization, case studies, and a comparison between litigation and arbitration. Findings show that Commercial Court processes take 160 to 250 days on average, entail high costs, and involve complex bureaucracy, often resulting in inadequate protection for creators. In contrast, arbitration, especially through the Intellectual Property Arbitration and Mediation Agency (BAM HKI), provides a faster resolution (typically 90–180 days) and is conducted by intellectual property specialists, though its rulings require district court enforcement. The study concludes that arbitration is a viable and strategic alternative to litigation for music copyright disputes. It recommends raising awareness and encouraging the use of BAM HKI among creators and policymakers to improve accessible, efficient, and specialized legal protection, thereby strengthening Indonesia’s intellectual property landscape.

Abstract

The history of the Jewish nation is a complex topic, encompassing various historical, theological, and moral dimensions, one of which is outlined in the Qur'an. The narration of the Jews in the Qur'an, scattered throughout various surahs and verses, often highlights their behavior—both exemplary and avoidable—as a lesson for humanity. This research aims to analyze in depth the Jewish nation as mentioned in the Qur'an. The research method used is qualitative, with data collection techniques through documentation. After the data are collected, the analysis is carried out by reducing the data, presenting the data, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the narration of the Jewish people in the Qur'an includes praise of them as descendants glorified by God and illustrates the various extraordinary gifts given to the Jewish people. These verses were revealed to provide lessons and warnings to the Prophet Muhammad and Muslims to face challenges patiently and believe that the truth will ultimately prevail. In addition, the Qur'an also explains that the Jews made mistakes that led to God's wrath, offering a warning about the consequences of iniquity.

Abstract

The importance of implementing Quality Management Systems (QMS) in facing business competition in the construction sector, especially at the construction work implementation stage—both private and government—requires strict compliance with quality standards and procedures to produce quality construction products that meet customer expectations and needs. This study analyzes the level and impact of implementing QMS ISO 9001:2015 clauses 4 to 10 on the quality of irrigation network modernization projects in the Rentang Irrigation Area. The research combines descriptive analysis with a quantitative approach, involving 98 respondents from 14 construction service providers directly involved in the project. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression. Results show that the degree of QMS ISO 9001:2015 adoption in the Rentang irrigation network modernization project was very good, with an average score of 4.06 (80.96%). Multiple linear regression analysis and hypothesis testing prove that implementation of clause 7 (support) and clause 10 (improvement) partially have significant effects on project quality. The simultaneous implementation of clauses 4 to 10 of ISO 9001:2015 has a significant impact on the quality of irrigation network modernization project implementation. The effectiveness depends on strong top management support to ensure adequate resources and continuously evaluated employee competencies, guaranteeing construction products meet customer expectations and needs.

Abstract

Mastery of narrative texts plays an important role in learning English in vocational schools, but in reality many students still encounter obstacles in understanding the content of reading, recognizing the structure of the story, and honing critical thinking skills. Conventional learning tends to involve students less actively in exploring the meaning and moral message of the texts studied. This emphasizes the need for teaching material innovations that are more interactive, contextual, and relevant to the characteristics of students in vocational schools. This research aims to develop teaching materials in the form of Canva-assisted digital comics which are expected to support students' understanding of concepts and critical thinking skills. The method used refers to the Research and Development (R&D) approach with the Borg and Gall model which includes the planning stage, initial product development, limited trials, revisions, field tests, and product improvements. The subject of the study is a class X student at one of the State Vocational Schools in Yogyakarta, with data collection techniques through pretest and posttest. The validation of the instrument was carried out by media experts and material experts, whose results showed that the teaching materials were in the category of suitable for use, with the Aiken index of 0.73 and 0.75, respectively. The results of the analysis of learning effectiveness with the N-Gain formula showed a significant increase, namely a concept mastery score of 0.77 and critical thinking skills of 0.70, both of which are classified as high. These findings prove that Canva-based digital comics teaching materials are not only feasible, but also effective in supporting the understanding of narrative text materials while developing students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, this product is recommended to be integrated in English learning in vocational schools and can be a reference for the development of similar media.

Abstract

The internal training program of KPLH (SAKTI) at PT Antareja Mahada Makmur Jobsite Mifa has not been effective in forming safe behavior. The main problems include low training implementation (30.8% of the plan), low employee participation (6.2% of 2,830 people), and the dominance of unsafe behavior and personal factors as causes of work accidents. Based on the results of the analysis of the identification of the root causes of the ineffectiveness of the internal training of KPLH SAKTI is due to the absence of a real-time monitoring system, suboptimal trainer appointment, the absence of TNA-based needs analysis, and the absence of a post-training evaluation mechanism. The innovation of the Mining Occupational Safety and Health (KPLH) Training system (SAKTI) which is more structured and digitally based has resulted in a significant increase in participant participation (Q1: 6.2% to 15.3% in Q2), increased training implementation (Q1: 30.8% to 53.8% in Q2), as well as evaluation of learning outcomes with the achievement of a score of >70 and the implementation of safe behavior in the workplace. to 15.3%, training implementation realization at 53.8%, and learning outcome evaluations above 70, which contribute to the implementation of safe behavior in the field. Other impacts achieved from this innovation include strengthening a behavior-based safety culture, improving the quality of the training system in accordance with the standards of the Director General of Mineral and Coal Mining Decree No. 185/2019, and contributing to the development of human resource competencies in K3.

Abstract

The development of information technology, including social media, is believed to have become a fertile medium for the spread of radicalism, intolerance, and terrorism. Digital and social media are considered capable of changing a person's character in a short time through the content they share. This study aims to determine the application of the soft approach method implemented by the Bekasi City Metro Police in an effort to prevent radicalism. The research employs a qualitative method by applying data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the soft approach method implemented by the Bekasi City Metro Police in preventing radicalism is still not optimal. Therefore, concrete steps are needed to improve it through the enhancement of soft approach methods in the prevention of radicalism, including strengthening counter-radical and deradicalization programs, improving the performance of Bhabinkamtibmas, increasing the internalization of Pancasila values, and strengthening the state defense program. Furthermore, to enhance cooperation in the implementation of soft approaches to preventing radicalism, efforts can be made through the empowerment of work units dealing with radicalism or terrorism, increasing the exchange of intelligence information between units, establishing MoUs with local governments for radicalism prevention, and developing integrated programs to strengthen government institutions against the spread of radicalism.
