Abstract

Aromatic plants are plants that can produce essential oils, contain volatile substances and have a distinctive aroma. The ethnobotanical study of aromatic plants aims to find out the types of aromatic plants used by the community and how to apply. This research was carried out in April-June 2024 at Air Putih Village and Botanical Laboratory, Basic Science Building, FMIPA UNIB. The method of open interviews with informants was carried out to find out the use of aromatic plants. The results of the study obtained 10 species of aromatic plants belonging to 5 families, namely Alpinia galanga (L.) Willd., Amomum compactum Sol. ex Maton, Curcuma domestica Val., Curcuma zanthorrhiza Roxb., Zingiber cassumunar Roxb., Zingiber officinale var rubrum included in the family Zingiberaceae, Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) Stapf (Poaceae), Acorus calamus L. (Acoraceae), Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb. ex Lindl (Pandanaceae), and Myristica fragrans Houtt. (Myristicaceae). The most used plant organs are rhizomes 60%, followed by leaf organs 50%, and fruits 20%. The community processes aromatic plants by boiling 70%, cooking spices 60%, diced 30%, grated 20%, crushed and boiled 20%, covered 10%, sliced 10%, and tied 10%.

Abstract

Indonesia negara dengan tingkat kebencanaan yang tinggi, sehingga menimbulkan ancaman serius bagi anak-anak karena mereka termasuk kelompok paling rentan terhadap dampak yang ditimbulkan. Di sisi lain, belum terbentuknya Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) di Kota Bandung menyebabkan upaya pengembangan kemampuan mitigasi bencana, khususnya bagi anak-anak, masih sangat terbatas. Mengingat kemampuan mereka dalam menganalisis situasi dan mengambil keputusan masih terbatas, maka diperlukan pembelajaran yang dapat menumbuhkan keterampilan reasoned-decision making. Keterampilan ini penting untuk membantu siswa dalam memilih tindakan yang bijak, baik saat menghadapi situasi bencana maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, terutama di tengah derasnya arus informasi di era digital saat ini. Pendidikan formal berperan dalam pendidikan preventif untuk membentuk masyarakat yang tangguh bencana. Penelitian ini mengembangkan media e-learning untuk meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan dan keterampilan reasoned decision-making siswa sekolah dasar di Kota Bandung menggunakan model pengembangan (D&D) dan metode SUS sebagai alat ukur kegunaan. Hasil uji validasi memperoleh nilai baik, dan hasil uji SUS mendapatkan nilai 69 dengan nilai D dan atau dikategorikan sebagai "OK", dan menunjukkan bahwa itu dapat diterima secara marginal, dan mendapat klasifikasi “High”. Aspek yang belum terpenuhi dalam media ini adalah pengguna yang perlu membiasakan diri terlebih dahulu dengan adanya teknologi dalam seluruh rangkaian pembelajaran.

Abstract

Pelatihan diversifikasi abon ikan cakalang yang dilakukan di Malanu merupakan suatu bentuk pemberdayaan untuk memberikan pengetahuan serta keterampilan kepada Mama-mama Papua dalam memanfaatkan dengan baik sumber daya alam yang tersedia. Ikan cakalang merupakan salah satu spesies ikan yang banyak dan mudah diperoleh di Papua Barat Daya khususnya Kota Sorong. Pada umumnya masyarakat hanya mengkonsumsi ikan cakalang dalam bentuk olahan rumahan saja seperti dibakar, digoreng dan dimasak langsung. Namun dengan adanya pelatihan diversifikasi abon ikan cakalang ini, bertujuan mampu meningkatkan keterampilaan dalam mengolah ikan cakalang yang berbeda dari biasanya, serta menambah wawasan Mama-mama Papua terkait cara pengolahan ikan cakalang. Sehingga akan menambah daya tarik untuk mengkonsumsinya dan menambah nilai ekonomis yang tinggi. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini yaitu pelatihan diversifikasi abon ikan cakalang dengan penambahan jantung pisang sebagai sumber serat kepada Mama-mama Papua. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini yaitu meningkatkan wawasan dan keterampilan Mama-mama Papua dalam mengolah ikan cakalang menjadi diversifikasi olahan abon ikan cakalang.

Abstract

Rapid environmental changes demand an increase in environmental literacy and eco-anxiety management among students. Environmental literacy is important for students because it can form concern for environmental problems, while eco-anxiety is only at a certain level, so that students can be motivated to take real action in protecting the environment. The results of pre-research on environmental literacy and eco-anxiety of students showed a low category. This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model integrated with ecopreneurship on the level of environmental literacy and eco-anxiety of students on environmental change material in class X of high school. This type of research is a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design and a purposive sampling technique in selecting samples. The samples used were X-4 as the experimental class and X-5 as the control class. The results of the study show that the implementation of PjBL integrated with ecopreneurship has a significant effect on environmental literacy and eco-anxiety, as evidenced by the One Way ANCOVA test which produces a significance value (2-tailed) (p<0.05).

Abstract

Kompetensi lulusan program studi Pendidikan biologi salah satunya adalah lulusan memiliki kemampuan bekerja di laboratorium. Pada mata kuliah manajemen laboratorium mahasiswa dilatih untuk mengelola laboratorium secara optimal supaya fungsi laboratorium berjalan dengan baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan buku pedoman praktikum mata kuliah manajemen laboratorium biologi SMA supaya mahasiswa memiliki panduan untuk mengelola laboratorium biologi SMA. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D yaitu define, design, develop, dan dessiminate. Buku Pedoman Praktikum Manajemen Laboratorium khususnya untuk laboratorium biologi SMA memiliki tiga topik praktikum yaitu inventarisasi peralatan laboratorium biologi SMA, penggunaan dan perawatan mikroskop cahaya serta pengenalan bahan kimia di laboratorium biologi. Hasil uji validitas dari ahli materi memiliki skor 3.7; ahli Bahasa memiliki skor 3.3 dan ahli desain memiliki skor 3.7 dari ketiga validator ahli mendapatkan skor 3.00-4.00 yang artinya Buku Pedoman Praktikum Manajemen Laboratorium sangat valid dan layak untuk digunakan.

Abstract

Enhancing information literacy among teachers is a crucial step in supporting the achievement of quality education. Information literacy, which encompasses the ability to access, evaluate, and use information effectively, is vital in the learning process. With the advancement of technology, 3D animated video-based learning media has become a tool that can increase students' interest and understanding of the material being taught. This training aims to equip teachers with the skills to create learning media in the form of 3D animated videos using the Lumen application. This application is chosen for its ease of use in creating engaging and interactive visual content. In this training, participants will learn the basics of using Lumen, starting from 3D animation concepts, storyboard creation, to rendering and video editing techniques. The expected outcome of this training is the enhancement of teachers' competence in creating innovative and interactive learning media, which in turn can improve students' information literacy and understanding. Thus, this training is expected to contribute to improving the quality of education in schools.

Abstract

Ethnobiology is a field within biology that applies sustainable scientific principles to explore phenomena like ecology, social dynamics, and economics. Ethnobiology, in its application, predominantly uses plants for various purposes such as sustenance, traditional medicine, ceremonial materials, decorative plants, animal feed, and pest and weed management. Using ethnobotanical and pharmacological methods to preclinical and clinical investigations, this study intends to investigate the possibilities, particularly the use of plants, in creating business prospects derived from plant biodiversity. Data collecting involves examining database reviews acquired from diverse sources such as books, scientific portals, and journal articles. The reported findings indicate that ethnobotany significantly contributes to the identification and utilization of plants as primary resources for therapeutic products in diverse case studies. Utilizing local information derived from scientific methodologies can stimulate the generation of innovative ideas for constructing sustainable economic value in business. The incorporation of community knowledge has a significant impact on the advancement of ethnobotanical studies, which in turn facilitates the progress of research and technologies associated with bioprospecting.

Abstract

This study tested the effectiveness of PBL-STEAM-based science modules (Problem-Based Learning - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) in developing Science Process Skills (KPS) for students with simple airplane materials. Initial observations show the urgency of increasing student PPP in solving complex problems. This module is designed based on the PBL-STEAM syntax i.e. orientation; exploration and investigation; guided research; product creation, production, and presentation; product and process evaluation. The development research (R&D) using the Thiagarajan 4D model, involved grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Balen, Bojonegoro, with one control class and two experimental classes. KPS data is collected through test instruments. Quantitative analysis includes prerequisite tests (normality, homogeneity) and independent sample t-test. The results of the Shapiro-Wilk normality test (p > 0.05) showed that all data were distributed normally. The results of the Levene's Test homogeneity test showed homogeneous pre-test data, with a significance value of 0.709 > 0.05. However, for post-test scores, the test results showed a significance of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the post-test data was not homogeneous, even though the independent sample t-test test could still be applied, The t-test results showed significant differences between the two groups, so that the IPA PBL-STEAM module proved to be effective and had a positive impact on improving students' KPS.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of flipbook media on improving students' science process skills, thefeasibility and effectiveness of flipbook media in the learning process. This research uses Systematic LiteratureReview (SLR). Systematic Literature Review involves searching and analyzing relevant literature from varioussources published in the period 2015 to 2024. Systematic methods are used to identify literature studies that meetthe criteria. Literature criteria are predetermined. Content analysis is used to confirm the design, methods, focus andresults achieved from the research. The research results from this literature review show that (a) flipbook mediaimproves students' science process skills, (b) flipbook media is suitable for use in teaching and learning activities,(c) flipbook media is effective in science learning, especially for improving science process skills. Educators areadvised to consider integrating flipbooks into their teaching strategies to more comprehensively support thedevelopment of students' science skills

Abstract

Industri batik merupakan sektor ekonomi kreatif yang berperan penting dalam pelestarian budaya dan peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Namun, ketergantungan pada pewarna sintetis masih menjadi kendala utama bagi UKM batik karena keterbatasan pasokan pewarna alami yang berkelanjutan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemandirian UKM Puspita Batik Yogyakarta dalam penyediaan bahan baku pewarna alami melalui penerapan budidaya Marsdenia tinctoria sebagai sumber indigo alami yang adaptif terhadap lahan kering. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) melalui tiga tahapan utama: diagnosis partisipatif, implementasi teknologi, dan penguatan kapabilitas mitra. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan tingkat keberhasilan hidup tanaman mencapai 87% dengan pertumbuhan vegetatif rata-rata 4,2 cm per minggu. Penerapan sistem irigasi sprinkler hemat air meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air hingga 40% dan menekan biaya perawatan lahan. Pelatihan teknis yang diberikan meningkatkan kompetensi mitra dalam pembibitan, perawatan, dan pengolahan daun menjadi pasta indigo dengan kualitas warna biru keunguan stabil. Selain meningkatkan efisiensi dan kemandirian bahan baku, program ini juga memperkuat pemberdayaan sosial ekonomi masyarakat, terutama keterlibatan perempuan dalam rantai produksi pewarna alami. Implementasi budidaya M. tinctoria terbukti mendukung prinsip produksi berkelanjutan dan menjadi model dalam pengembangan pewarna alami ramah lingkungan bagi UKM batik di wilayah lahan kering.
