Abstract

Tuban Regency is one of the areas that holds the potential of nature, this can be seen from the number of large factories established in Tuban Regency. The existence of this large factory causes changes in the surrounding environmental balance. Based on the results of observation of learning in SMA Muhammadiyah 03 Bancar class X on the subject of environmental balance is still conventional with the lecture method and discussion of this matter leads to less interesting and boring learning therefore there needs to be a development of learning models where students can engage in a social solution Namely the Group Investigation learning model (GI). The purpose of this research is to develop a model of learning by using the environment as a learning medium that is packaged in the form of video story to cultivate students' critical thinking skills. The students' critical thinking ability can be measured from aspects of identifying problems, interpreting, giving relevant ideas and drawing conclusions. This type of research is a research development, which is the development of a learning model that is very appropriate for the material of environmental balance class X semester even, the resulting draft then validated by two experts and one teacher as a user. The results showed the average validation of two experts and one user is 83.529% which indicates valid criteria and is worthy of use. From the results of small-scale test results amounted to 15 students who analyzed with the normalized gain obtained N gain> 0.7. These results indicate that there is a significant improvement in critical thinking of the students so that it can be concluded that the development of this learning model is very valid and feasible to be applied to improve critical thinking of the students.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan  penelitian ini mengukur efektivitas perangkat pembelajaran biologi berbasis strategi metakognitif ditinjau dari kemampuan siswa dan kategori sekolah. Perangkat pembelajaran tersebut meliputi Virus, Sistem Endokrin dan Substansi Genetika. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa SMA di kota  Surabaya, yang dibagi dalam kategori sekolah baik, sedang, dan kurang. SMA Negeri 2 Surabaya mewakili sekolah baik, SMA Negeri 12 Surabaya mewakili sekolah sedang, dan SMA Widya Darma Surabaya mewakili sekolah kurang. Sampel penelitian ini 270 siswa yang dibagi dalam 90 siswa kelas X, 90 siswa Kelas XI IPA, dan 90  siswa kelas XII IPA. Data yang diperolehberupa efektivitas perangkat pembelajaran biologi  dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Kesimpulan yang dapat ditarik dari penelitian ini adalah  (1) Perangkat pembelajaran berbasis strategi metakognitif  pada materi Virus, Sistem Endokrin dan Substansi Genetika lebih efektif pada siswa kemampuan atas daripada siswa kemampuan bawah. (2) Perangkat pembelajaran Substansi Genetika paling efektif pada semua kategori sekolah, yaitu baik, sedang, dan kurang.   Kata kunci:  perangkat pembelajaran biologi, strategi metakognitif

Abstract

Kascing dihasilkan dari cacing tanah sebagai hasil proses digestinya yang memegang peran penting  dalam perbaikan kualitas tanah. Kascing sebagai faeces cacing   tanah  merupakan  makroagregat stabil  dan  agregat  ini  dapat  bertahan  lebih  dari  1 tahun.  Kascing merupakan pupuk organik yang mengandung fitohormon,mikroba dan unsur-unsur  yang  diperlukan  bagi  pertumbuhan tanaman.  Ada  bukti  yang cukup bahwa Cacing tanah   memiliki efek yang signifikan untuk lebih cepat menguraikan bahan organik dibanding mikroba dalam semua habitat (Osler  et al.,2007). Penelitian  ini  bertujuan untuk: Mengetahui hubungan antara kepadatan cacing tanah dan kascing pada berbagai penggunaan lahan. Target khusus yang ingin dicapai adalah menyelamatkan makrofauna khususnya cacing tanah   yang dapat memberikan kontribusi pada lahan. Lokasi penelitian di Gondangrejo kabupaten Karanganyar dengan lima penggunaan lahan yaitu: agroforestri kompleks,  agroforestri sederhana,  monokultur Tectona grandis, polikultur Tectona grandis-Acasia sp   dan tanaman semusim Arachis hypogea. Pengambilan data cacing tanah menggunakan monolit dengan hand sorting, kascing yang terdapat pada berbagai lahan diambil ditimbang beratnya. Data penelitian dianalisis  secara  kuantitatif  menggunakan  metode  statistik. Dari hasil   penelitian dapat disimpulkan   bahwa terdapat  hubungan  positip kuat dan signifikan ( r = 0,689 dengan taraf sig 0,004) antara  kepadatan cacing dengan  berat kascing pada berbagai penggunaan lahan.Keywords:  hubungan, kepadatan cacing tanah, kascing, penggunaan lahan

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to increase higher order of student’s question through problem based learning at conceptual dimension in biology learning. Population of this research was students at grade X IIS 4 of SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta. The research was four-cycles action research that conducted in academic year 2014/2015. Data were collected through observation, interview and video recording. Student’s question collected by counting the number of questions during the learning process and categorized based on revised Bloom’s Taxonomy. Higher order question include C4, C5 and C6 question. The result of this research shows: 1) C4 and C6 of conceptual question was identified in each cycles. C5 of conceptual question was identified in the first and  third cycles; 2) the number of C4 conceptual question is 0% at pra cyles, 2.52% at first cycles, 6.06% at second cycles, 3.53% at third cycles, 6.57% at fourth cycles. The number of C5 conceptual question is 0% at pra cycles and 0.5% at first and third cycles. The number of C6 conceptual question is 0% at first cycles, 17.68% at first cycles, 8.08% at second cycles, 19.19% at third cycles and 35.35% at fourth cycles; 3) The higherest number of HOT’s question that identified was C6 question. The conclusion of this research is PBL effectively increased the higher order of student’s questions at conceptual dimension. Keywords: higher order of student’s question, problem based learning

Abstract

Berdasarkan observasi pada Matakuliah Strategi Belajar Mengajar Kelas B 2013 di UM, didapatkan kondisi pembelajaran yang baik. Namun, 65% mahasiwa  tidak memiliki tanggung jawab akan tugas, 75% kurangnya komunikasi dan kerjasama antarkelompok. 45% mahasiswa kurang fokus dalam menerima pembelajaran, 80% posisi duduk belum mencerminkan adanya interaksi antarkelompok. 40% terdapat nilai mahasiswa kurang pada ulangan harian sebelumnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kolaboratif dan hasil belajar kognitif melalui jigsaw berbasis LS. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas berbasis Lesson Study (PTK_LS). Pendekatan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Prosedur penelitian PTK_LS  sebanyak 2 siklus. Subyek penelitian adalah mahasiswa biologi UM Kelas B. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar instrumen penilaian keterlaksanaan LS, intrumen penilaian lembar observasi keterampilan pemecahan masalah dan lembar penilaian penilaian kognitif.Hasil penelitian ini adalah keterlaksanaan jigsaw_LS sebesar 100%. Penerapan model Jigsaw_LS dapat meningkatkan keterampilan kolaboratif sebesar 8,26%  dan hasil belajar kognitif sebesar 1,56% dari siklus I ke siklus II. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini penerapan Jigsaw_LS dapat meningkatkan keterampilan kolaboratif dan hasil belajar kognitif .

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to ascertain: 1) the influence of Peer Led Guided Inquiry model towards competency of scientific literacy, 2) the influence of academic ability toward competency of scientific literacy. The research was quasi experiment research. The research was designed using posttest-only group design with factorial design 2 x 3. The population of this research were all of 11th degree student at SMA N 2 Sukoharjo in academic year 2018/2019. The sample of this research were student of XI MIPA 3 as experiment group and XI MIPA 4 as control group. The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The data was collected essay test, observation form, and document. The hypotheses analyzed by Anova Two Ways. The research concluded that 1) Peer Led Guided Inquiry (PLGI) model had significant effect toward competency of scientific literacy, 2) the academic ability didn’t has significant effect toward competency of scientific literacy.

Abstract

This study is aimed to develop a textbook of applied microbiology problem based in material industrial microbiology by standard BNSP. Teaching materials in the form of textbook will be to guide students in carrying out learning activities applied microbiology course. The research was conducted in the Graduate Program of UNIMED in January-May 2014, with the development model Thiagarajan (4-D), which consists of three stages: the first stage of defining which includes: initial preliminary final analysis, analysis of student, material analysis, task analysis and specification of learning objectives. The second stage of the design, which consists of: the selection of media, format selection, and initial planning. The third stage is the development, consisting of a lecturer assessment, validation by experts and the design of instructional materials, limited testing, and the final device. The resulting product is a textbook that will be used by third semester student of Biology Education Graduate Program of UNIMED. Teaching materials compiled into a book Industrial Microbiology problem based considered feasible by the validation team. Results matter expert team showed an average of 90.30 % very viable category, and instructional design experts categorized 83.4%. limited test group by microbiology lecturer gets by 91.30% results very appropriate category and 40 students of fourth semester of Biology Education Graduate Program of UNIMED assessed at 83.39 % of applied microbiology textbook problem-based in material industrial microbiology compiled interesting. Keywords: Development of teaching, materials, applied microbiology, problem-based

Abstract

Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Pulau Bakut  adalah  kawasan lahan basah. Fauna prioritas  pelestarian di kawasan ini adalah bekantan,  sedangkan  fauna lainnya (burung)  kurang diperhatikan. Tujuan  penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi spesies dan mendata status burung diurnal. Data dikumpulkan  antara Januari hingga Maret 2013 dengan  survei atau  pengamatan langsung melalui darat dan air. Dari 31 spesies burung, 8 di antaranya dilindungi berdasarkan pada PP No. 7/1999. Menurut IUCN, dua spesies terancam punah, 22 spesies sedikit diprihatinkan, 2 spesies berisiko rendah, dan 5 spesies belum dinilai. Menurut CITES, dua spesies masuk dalam Appendix II.  Kata kunci: bakut, burung, keragaman, status, taman

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media and know the feasibility of learning media Macromedia Flash 8basedapproach to the concept.This research is included in research and development (R & D) To develop Macromedia Flash 8 based learning media using ADDIE development model which includes five stages including Analysis (Analysis), Design (Design), Development (Development), Implementation (Implementation), evaluai (Evaluation). Product development using Macromedia Flash software. The subjects of the 2-person expert test and 2 person media experts, all test subjects are UNIROW lecturers, large-scale trials of 28 students of grade VIII Mts Hasyimiyah Bulu Bancar. Methods used in collecting data by collecting instruments in the form of assessment sheets for experts (expertjudgment), questionnaire (questionnaire) for students. This data quality is obtained in qualitative form then processed into quantitative data. Quantitative data is analyzed every aspect of the assessment. The final score obtained is converted to qualitative quality of the product by guidance according to the criteria of the ideal rating category.Thus the results of this development research shows that the development of learning media Macromedia Flash 8 based on the concept of students approach SMP / MTs class VIII meet the criteria of quality and worthy of use as a biological teaching materials.

Abstract

The energy crisis is one of the problems facing mankind today. Because of the limitations of existing fossil energy on earth then much alternative energy development. One alternative energyi is developed briquettes. The briquettes are used in this study is the briquettes are made from raw material palm oil shell. Palm shell briquettes made by particle size variations. The measure used in the study are smaller than 8 mesh, between 8-12 mesh, between 12-20 mesh, and greater than 20 mesh. Grouping particle size sieve used to size 8 mesh, 12 mesh and 20 mesh. As the adhesives used briquettes cassava flour in the ratio 1:7 to palm shells. Briquettes with a mesh size of between 8 - 12 mesh has an average calorific value of the largest in the amount of 4696.2 cal / g. Briquettes with size greater than 20 mesh is the briquettes to trigger the shortest time and the amount of residual char slightly. Briquettes with size smaller than 8 mesh is briquettes with flame longest time with an average temperature of 65 ◦ C. Keywords:Briquettes palm shells, large calorific value of briquettes, bomb calorimeter
