Abstract

Biophilic design integrates natural elements into built environments to enhance well-being. While its benefits for satisfaction and stress reduction are well-documented, limited research explores how biophilic café environments evoke psychological and emotional responses that influence visitor behaviour. This study examines how meaningfulness and environmental awareness in biophilic cafés foster happiness and shape revisit intention. Drawing on Attention Restoration Theory and Place Attachment Theory, the study conceptualizes these pathways as symbolic and emotional mechanisms through which design influences experience and behaviour. A survey was conducted through Prolific, targeting 219 respondents in the United Kingdom who had previously visited cafés with visible biophilic design features. Data were analysed using structural equation modelling to test the hypothesized relationships between meaningfulness, environmental awareness, happiness, and revisit intention. The findings reveal that meaningful and environmental awareness self enhance happiness, which in turn increases revisit intention. Theoretically, this research extends biophilic design literature by uncovering the psychological pathways linking symbolic and emotional experiences to behavioural outcomes in hospitality contexts. Practically, it offers insights for hospitality managers and designers to create emotionally impactful, meaningful spaces that evoke well-being and loyalty suggesting that designing for connection and meaning is as essential as delivering comfort or service quality.

Abstract

School or madrasa-based quality improvement management is an essential effort to enhance the quality of education, especially from an Islamic perspective. In Islam, education is not only seen as an intellectual process but also as a means to enhance faith and morals. Therefore, the management of education must pay attention to Islamic values, which include tawhid, akhlakul karimah, ihsan, and justice. Additionally, quality education is influenced by the development of teacher competencies, the use of technology in learning, and the development of curricula that are relevant to the needs of the times. Education in Islam emphasizes the importance of knowledge, as reflected in various verses of the Qur'an that honor knowledge. As an implementation of this principle, education must integrate academic knowledge with moral and spiritual values. To achieve high-quality education, educational management must apply effective managerial principles, including planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating based on quality standards. From the perspective of Islamic educational management, integrated quality development is carried out by incorporating Islamic values into the education system, improving teacher quality through continuous training, and utilizing technology to enhance learning quality. Good management can strengthen the role of schools/madrassas in creating a safe, comfortable, and productive educational environment, as well as preparing students to become individuals who are faithful, virtuous, and competent in their fields.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of employee engagement and perceived program usefulness on employee retention with the meaning of work as a mediating variable in the implementation of the digital-based CSR program Sedekah Sampah (Trash Charity) at PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. The CSR program is part of the company's sustainability strategy that is not only oriented towards environmental impacts but also designed to increase active employee participation through the process of internalizing company values. This study uses a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) analysis method. The research data were obtained from 169 respondents who met the criteria as active participants of the Sedekah Sampah program. The results show that employee engagement and perceived program usefulness have a positive effect on the meaning of work and employee retention, both directly and indirectly through the meaning of work as a mediating variable. These findings indicate that participatory CSR not only contributes to the formation of the company's external image but also has significant implications for employee work attitudes and loyalty. Theoretically, this study strengthens the role of the meaning of work within the CSR framework, while practically provides managerial recommendations for designing sustainability programs that position employees as important actors in achieving company goals.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the challenges faced by PT Regulus Inspira Land in improving employee performance amid globalization, advances in information technology, and the need for adequate competencies. Issues include the suboptimal implementation of knowledge management, an underdeveloped learning organization culture, limited digital skills, and employee competency gaps. The research aims to analyze the effect of knowledge management, learning organization, and information technology development on employee performance, with competence as an intervening variable. A descriptive-associative quantitative approach was applied using a questionnaire survey of PT Regulus Inspira Land employees in Depok, West Java, during 2025. The results indicate that all three independent variables positively influence competence, which in turn directly and indirectly enhances employee performance. The findings highlight that strengthening competence is key to maximizing the benefits of knowledge management, organizational learning, and technology adoption. Recommendations include developing technology-based training programs, reinforcing a continuous learning culture, and optimizing integrated knowledge management systems to sustainably improve employee performance.

Abstract

The transition toward sustainable mobility has positioned electric vehicles (EVs) as a strategic solution to reduce carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. However, the adoption rate of EVs in Indonesia remains relatively low, indicating the need to better understand the factors influencing consumer adoption intentions. This study aims to examine consumers’ behavioral intention to adopt electric vehicles in Indonesia by extending the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) with perceived risk, trust, and digital literacy. A quantitative research design was employed using a cross-sectional survey of 185 respondents who are familiar with electric vehicle technology. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that UTAUT2 has a significant positive effect on consumers’ behavioral intention to adopt electric vehicles. Furthermore, perceived risk was found to negatively mediate the relationship between UTAUT2 and behavioral intention, while trust and digital literacy positively mediate this relationship. These findings suggest that although technological benefits encourage EV adoption, psychological barriers and digital readiness play a crucial role in shaping consumer intentions. This study contributes to the technology adoption and sustainable mobility literature by providing an extended UTAUT2 model tailored to the Indonesian context. Practically, the findings offer insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders to develop strategies that reduce perceived risk, enhance trust, and improve digital literacy to accelerate electric vehicle adoption in Indonesia.
