Abstract

The Health Policy Program to Prevent Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) has four prongs/activities with various goals. The PMTCT program, which is integrated with antenatal care in a health institution, is evaluated regularly to measure its success in preventing mother-to-child HIV/AIDS transmission. HIV/AIDS, a virus that assaults the immune system, needs attention, prevention, and treatment in Indonesia, especially in areas with high rates of mother-to-child transmission. HIV/AIDS cases increased in Jember Regency, East Java. The number of HIV-positive people in Jember Regency rose to 644 in 2017, including 42 pregnant women. 25–49-year-olds dominate HIV/AIDS. This study evaluated prong 3 of the PMTCT program at six Public Health Centers in Jember Regency and identified input, processes, output, and outcome in accordance with ANC service standards. This mixed-method research with a sequential explanatory design employed a crosssectional research strategy to investigate input, process, output, and outcome in PMTCT prong 3. After that, qualitative study will prove, deepen, and increase quantitative data, specifically the execution of prong 3 of the PMTCT program in antenatal care services at six public health clinics in Jember Regency. This study employed logistic regression and purposive sampling. Meanwhile, for the second phase of research (qualitative research) there were 18 informants (six key informants, six main informants and six additional informants). This study was concluded in April 2020. This study examined inputs (man, money, method, material, machine), process, output, outcome, and PMTCT prong 3 implementation.

Abstract

Chronic Renal Failure (CKD) is a progressive decline in kidney tissue function so that the remaining kidney mass is no longer able to maintain the body's internal environment. Dialysis maintenance includes two main things: hemodialysis (HD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD). As the disease progresses to requiring dialysis, the patient begins to experience several losses: kidney function, leading roles in the family and work, physical function and mobility, tolerance to activities, etc.Hemodialysis takes toxic nitrogenous substances from the patient's blood to the dialyzer to filter and remove toxic metabolic wastes in the body that the kidneys should remove. There are three principles underlying hemodialysis work: diffusion, osmosis, and ultrafiltration. This study aims to determine the effect of Benson relaxation therapy on stress levels in patients with kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis

Abstract

The high incidence of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) impacts all aspects of patient life. The main focus of DM management is changing lifestyles. Lifestyle management is fundamental in DM care, such as self-learning management, care support, physical activity, smoking counseling, and psychosocial care. It is hoped that lifestyle changes can improve glycemic control and reduce complications and death. Health cadres are given empowerment programs as motivators and mentors in comprehensive self-care. The main program in community service is assisting cadres in empowering type 2 DM patients. This activity begins with a pre-test by giving questions in the form of a questionnaire. The implementing team provides the material following the contents of the module. The mentoring program is carried out after the material delivery is complete. Assistance for cadres is carried out by directly inviting type 2 DM patients to Mantuil Village, South Banjarmasin District. Partners were divided into small groups of 5-6 people. After being given material presentation and assistance, there was an increase in the partner's ability to empower type 2 DM patients. This increase occurred significantly, namely 85.7%, in the good category.

Abstract

Tobacco smoke when smoking contains harmful chemicals for the body, such as nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide, and others. These toxic substances enter the body and increase cancer risk, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiovascular disease, and teeth and mouth. The oral cavity is the organ first exposed to cigarette smoke. There is a liquid to maintain oral health, namely saliva, with an average Potential of Hydrogen (pH) of around 6.8-7.4. Saliva acts as a buffer to keep the salivary pH to remain neutral. The buffer capacity can decrease due to the influence of cigarette smoke, which spreads throughout the oral cavity and will be followed by a decrease in salivary pH to become more acidic. This will affect the function of saliva in maintaining the health of the oral cavity from caries, halitosis, dry mouth, and others. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between smoking habits and salivary pH in active smokers. This study used an analytic survey with a cross-sectional research design approach. The sample is 30 respondents with a purposive sampling technique. Results: there is a significant relationship between the number of cigarettes consumed per day (p=0.009) and the duration of smoking (p=0.004) on salivary pH. Conclusion: An increase in smoking habits in terms of the number and time of tobacco has a relationship with a decrease in salivary pH.

Abstract

The management of midwifery practice using the objective structure clinical examination (OSCE) in method of laboratory practice requires instruments that have been tested or validated so that they can provide valid assessment results, compared with instruments by the person in charge of the laboratory or a quality person who is only limited to do observations during learning. The value standard is carried out by implementing 6 value standards,. namely the theological value of students always praying before doing osce exams, ethical-legal values of students respecting lecturers and being responsible for all actions while in the laboratory, aesthetic values where students always maintain a neat osce room, quiet and beautiful room, logical-rational value: students take practical exams in accordance with existing standards, physical-physiological values students must be able to analyze each existing case, such as the diagnosis and actions to be carried out in the osce process, teleologic scores: students can use every component in the laboratory according to its function. The student observation sheet contains 17 questions that have passed the midwifery and education expert test, then tested to 77 students with the results of the Alpha Cronbach reliability test of 0.86 > 0.6 which are in the category of "reliable”, so the Osce Assessment Instrument can be used or is feasible to measure student at osce towards the midwifery care course at Bhakti Asih Polytechnic Purwakarta because of its reliability value of 0.860

Abstract

Antenatal care is an activity of supervising pregnant women to prepare pregnant women as well as possible both physically and mentally, as well as saving mothers and babies during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. In South Nias District the coverage of Antenatal Visits 1 (K1) was 87.10% in 2019 and K4 was 73.32. At the Amandraya Health Center the coverage of K1 to K4 in 2021 has not reached the expected target of 95%. The aim of this study was to find out the factors associated with the irregularity of antenatal care visits at the Amandraya Health Center in South Nias Regency in 2022. This type of research is an analytic observational study using a cross sectional approach. The population was all pregnant women at the Amandraya Health Center in South Nias Regency, namely 217 people. The sample in this study were 73 people obtained through simple random sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out to determine the distribution of frequencies and percentages of each variable to be studied which included: age, education, employment, parity, income and staff support. Data analysis was performed by statistical test using chi-square. There is a relationship between knowledge (p=0.001) and income (p=0.007), mothers and irregular antenatal care visits at the Amandraya Health Center in South Nias Regency in 2022. There is no relationship between mother's education, number of children and health workers and irregular antenatal care visits. It is suggested to the staff of the Amandraya Health Center in South Nias Regency to increase counseling activities so that pregnant women's knowledge about antenatal care increases and antenatal care visits can be carried out regularly from the 1st to the 3rd trimester.
