Abstract

Dental and oral diseases still have a significant impact, especially on pregnant women. Pregnant women are vulnerable to dental and oral diseases such as periodontitis, gingivitis and dental caries. This study aims to determine the relationship between the characteristics of pregnant women and the oral hygiene of pregnant women at the Banguntapan II Public Health Center (PHC), Bantul District, Yogyakarta Province. This research uses an analytical observational method with a cross sectional design. The research population was pregnant women who were registered at the PHC in the last 3 months. The sample was taken using the accidental sampling technique totaling 90 people. Data collection was carried out using a social demographic questionnaire and the OHI-S (Oral Hygiene Index-Simple) questionnaire. The data obtained was analyzed using chi-square. The results of the study showed that there was no significant relationship between maternal age (p-value 0.222), education level (p-value 0.716) and employment status (p-value 0.763) on dental and oral hygiene of pregnant women. Therefore, socio-demographic characteristics have no relationship to oral hygiene during pregnancy. For this reason, it is necessary to test other variables to see the factors that cause dental and oral disease in pregnant women.

Abstract

Pneumonia is a common disease with a high global prevalence. Hospitalization rates for elderly pneumonia patients are five times higher than those for adult patients. Pneumonia has lasting consequences, including diminished lung function. As a result, pneumonia remains a critical public health issue in Indonesia. A person's susceptibility to illness may be affected by their nutritional state. It is easier to become sick from malnutrition-related immune system problems. The effects of malnutrition and infection on one another are two-way. People who are malnourished are more susceptible to catching pneumonia, and the latter may worsen their condition. The purpose of this research was to examine the association between patients' nutritional state and the occurrence of pneumonia at RSU Royal Prima Medan, an adult hospital. This investigation is a retrospective, analytical study. Adult patients with pneumonia who were seen at RSU Royal Prima Medan during the months of October and December 2022 made up the study population. Utilizing the Slovin algorithm for simple random sampling, we were able to collect data from 45 participants for analysis utilizing univariate and bivariate methods. The majority of patients diagnosed with pneumonia at RSU Royal Prima Medan were male, older than 40 years old, and had clinical signs of chest discomfort. At RSU Royal Prima Medan, 19 patients with pneumonia had a normal nutritional state and 26 had a bad nutritional status. Adult patients at RSU Royal Prima Medan have a p-value < 0.05 correlation between their dietary health and the occurrence of pneumonia.

Abstract

Iron deficiency anemia is a major health problem caused by iron deficiency. Many women of childbearing age and adolescents in Indonesia experience this condition. This condition needs to be handled appropriately because it can have a negative impact on the quality of life of teenagers and their offspring. Therefore it is necessary to develop food products with high iron content to increase the dietary iron intake. Soybean tempeh is a local food that can be developed as a food source for iron by substituting chicken liver flours. Chicken liver is a food source of high-quality animal protein and heme iron. This study aimed of this research was to analyze the acceptability of soybean tempeh products substituted with chicken liver flour. This study used a completely randomized experimental design. There were 4 formulas and 1 control group without substitution. Percentage of chicken liver flour substitution in groups F1 (5% chicken liver flour), F2 (10% chicken liver flour), F3 (15% chicken liver flour), and F4 (20% chicken liver flour). Acceptability tests were performed on the color, aroma, taste, and texture parameters using 25 semi-trained panelists. The acceptability test results showed that F1 underwent the closest acceptability test to the control group, especially in terms of color, taste, and texture (p>0,05). The F2, F3, and F4 groups were less preferred, especially in terms of aroma and taste parameters. As a product intended to meet dietary iron requirements, efforts need to be made to improve the acceptability of aroma parameters.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal injury is a condition of trauma or damage that affects the function of the movement system, a complex musculoskeletal system of body tissue which is responsible for supporting movement involving the skeleton, muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons and spine. Cycling can have a risk of musculoskeletal injury if the technique and timing are not right. Most injuries to cyclists occur due to using the wrong technique and not doing enough warm-up. Cycling is very important to pay attention to warming up before doing the activity to reduce the risk of injury. There are factors that influence injury when cycling, such as not understanding the importance of warming up when exercising. Cyclists who experience injuries will cause a decline in physical function and create a feeling of trauma, resulting in decreased physical activity and poor performance. Objective: To determine the effect of warming up on the risk of musculoskeletal injuries in cyclists. Method: This research used a descriptive observational research type with a cross sectional research design approach followed by a chi square test to determine the relationship between warming up and musculoskeletal injuries. Results: Around 87.5% of cyclists who did not warm up experienced injuries, while only 13% of cyclists who did warm up experienced injuries. This shows that cyclists who warm up before cycling have a lower risk of injury. Conclusion: Musculoskeletal injuries that occur in cyclists at Taman Bungkul Surabaya are caused by a lack of warm-up and have a higher risk of injury.

Abstract

Compliance with independent participants in paying National Health Insurance (JKN) contributions in Jambi City is not optimal. This is because Jambi City is the district/city that has the largest number of independent participants in arrears, namely 103,195 (16.95%) participants. Contributions greatly influence the smooth running of BPJS Health so that there is no deficit. The aim of this research is to determine the factors associated with compliance with paying monthly BPJS health contributions for independent participants in the informal sector in Jambi City. This research uses a cross sectional design, with purposive sampling data collection techniques. The samples taken were 139,091 independent BPJS participants in the informal sector. Analysis was carried out using univariate and bivariate tests with the chi-square test. The results of the study show that there is a relationship between education (p-value=0.039) and income (p-value=0.005) with compliance with paying BPJS Health contributions and there is no relationship between employment (p-value=0.190), contribution rates (p-value =0.129) and access to payments (p-value=0.887) with compliance in paying BPJS Health contributions for independent participants in the informal sector in Jambi City. BPJS Health must strictly enforce sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations if payments are late. People are expected to choose a treatment class that suits their ability to pay JKN contributions or if they feel they cannot afford it, people can apply to become PBI participants.
