Abstract

Telemedicine is a technology-based healthcare service that allows users to consult with doctors face-to-face or remotely for diagnostic consultations and patient care management. In Indonesia, although still relatively new, the use of telemedicine has been widely adopted by the community. However, there are still some challenges that must be faced by telemedicine service providers, one of which is the uneven Internet access in Indonesia, so several regions have not been able to enjoy this service. The purpose of this study is to identify the challenges and opportunities for the implementation of telemedicine in the Lopok Health Center. This research uses mixed methods research. The sample in this study was 120 respondents. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the respondents' knowledge is in the insufficient category (62.5%), the respondents' attitude is in the inadequate category (54.2%), and the willingness to use telemedicine services is in the unprepared category (65%). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of telemedicine services has great opportunities and challenges, both from the readiness of users and service providers.

Abstract

Employees of Credit Union Lantang Tipo (CULT) work in abnormal postures using computers causing mechanical neck pain (MNP) characterised by complaining of pain and reduced functional ability. This study aims to prove the efficacy of adding muscle energy technique (MET) to the participatory ergonomics approach (PEP) to reduce pain and improve functional ability in employees with MNP. This study used a true experimental design involving 40 subjects (n=20), consisting of treatment group I (PEP)) and treatment group II (addition of MET to PEP). Pain measurement used VAS and functional ability used NDI. Data analysis used Independent-Samples T-Test with a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05). The results of this study are that there is a significant difference in the mean after intervention, treatment group I (VAS 5 ± 0.59 p = 0.00, NDI 22.60 ± 6.77 p = 0.01) and treatment group II (VAS 3.5 ± 0.66 p = 0.00, NDI 17.80 ± 4.15 p = 0.01) with a p value <0.05. The decrease in the mean score of VAS and NDI in treatment II was greater than treatment I. The conclusion of this study is that the added MET to PEP is proven to be more effective in reducing pain and improving functional abilities in employees with MNP.

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is a condition where the blood pressure of an individual exceeds normal limits, posing risks such as pain and even death. Self-management of hypertension is crucial to control and manage symptoms, minimize disruptions to bodily functions and emotions, prevent complications, and achieve optimal health. Method: This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method. The R&D method is used to develop and validate products or processes, including testing the effectiveness of existing products. Validation tests were conducted by three expert nurses and health promotion specialists, with limited testing carried out on 10 respondents. Results: Based on the recapitulation of validation tests and limited trials, the results indicate that audiovisual media for self-management of hypertension received a very favorable rating. Discussion: This study demonstrates that audiovisual self-management tools for hypertension are highly suitable as educational aids in health promotion processes.

Abstract

Otitis media (OM) is an inflammatory process that occurs in part or all of the middle ear mucosa, eustachian tube, mastoid antrum, and mastoid cells. OM is divided into Acute Otitis Media (OMA) and Otitis Media Effusion (OME). Acute Otitis Media (AOM) is an inflammation of the middle ear caused by blockage of the Eustachian tube, immune system disorders, and recurrent upper respiratory tract infections. Risk factors for acute otitis media are young age, orofacial abnormalities, exposure to cigarette smoke, short duration of breastfeeding, and family history of AOM. One of the main risk factors for acute otitis media is age. This literature review aims to determine the characteristics of patients with acute otitis media. The method used is literature review with Narrative Review design. The results obtained in this literature are that there are 7 articles obtained with restrictions from 2019 - 2024 and an in-depth analysis of the strengths and limitations of each article regarding the characteristics of patients with acute otitis media, 7 articles mention the characteristics of patients with acute otitis media. Acute otitis media in children is mostly caused by upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs), which are more commonly experienced by boys. This is due to boys who tend to be more active and cause a higher risk of exposure to ARI, and facilitate the occurrence of AOM.

Abstract

Backgroud: Equitable distribution of health services in Indonesia is still a big challenge, especially because of the country's geographical condition which consists of many islands. To overcome this, the Indonesian government has implemented various programs, including National Health Insurance (JKN) which is managed by BPJS Health. Puskesmas, as a first level health service, plays an important role in supporting the JKN program and improving the level of public health. Method: This research uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted in the working area of the Muara Tembesi Health Center, Batang Hari Regency, in September 2023 – November 2023. The research population was all people in the working area of the Muara Tembesi Health Center. The sampling technique used probability sampling with a total sample of 114 respondents. Data was collected through interviews and analyzed using the chi-square test. Result: The results showed a significant relationship between age (p-value=0.000, PR 95% CI: 2.204 (1.475-3.294)), occupation (p-value=0.022, PR 95% CI: 1.404 (0.979-2.013) ), education (p-value=0.005, PR 95% CI: 1.447 (1.071-1.954)), accessibility (p-value=0.000, PR 95% CI: 1.591 (1.262-2.005)), and perception of illness (p- value=0.008, PR 95% CI: 1.339 (1.086-1.651)) with utilization of community health center services. However, the availability of health workers did not show a significant relationship with the utilization of community health center services (p-value=0.524, PR 95% CI: 0.900 (0.735-1.103)).
