Abstract

Physics learning activities in senior high school was still dominated by conventional methode which cause student’s low interest in learning physics. Consequently, these problems cause low learning outcomes of the students. One of the solution of these problems was by using “learning cycle” model which also followed by doing experimental activities in laboratory. This research was an experimental research randomize control group only design. The population of this research were all of the students of SMAN 2 Padang Panjang in the second semester of academic year 2013/2014. The data of the research were the student’s learning outcomes in the area of cognitive, affectif, and phychomotor. The research’s instrument are test sheet (multiplier choice and essay) for cognitive domain, observation sheet for affective domain, and score rubric for psychomotor domain. The result of this research showed that the mean score of the experimental class was higher then control class. Based on the data analysis result, it was gotten that there was significance different learning outcomes between experimental and control class at 0,05 significance level. It showed that using learning cycle which laboratory activies orientation influence students of SMAN 2 Padang Panjang learning outcomes in learning physics

Abstract

The cause of errors and misconceptions experienced by some students and students is the large number of literature or books that describe the concept inappropriately. Writing difficult equations is also a factor in students' misunderstanding. So, misconceptions must be detected as soon as possible, especially in one of the causes, namely textbooks. This study aims to determine whether there are misconceptions in high school physics textbooks and physics edupark textbooks for class XI dynamic fluid material and to find out whether there are indications of other information that have the potential to cause misconceptions in textbooks.This research was a qualitative descriptive study that provides an interpretation of the data obtained rationally and objectively. In this study, data collection techniques were carried out by literature study and interviews with a team of physicists. The data source of this research was the physics textbook of Class XI high school by Marthen Kanginan in 2016 and the edupark physics textbook, while the data was the physics concept on dynamic fluid material. Credibility and triangulation techniques were used to determine the validity / validity of the data. Based on data analysis, conclusions can be drawn. Namely, there were misconceptions in book 2, while books 1 and 3 did not have any. Apart from misconceptions, the results of identification of other information were found, namely incomplete concepts, concepts that allow misconceptions, improving images, improving formulation writing, improving sentence writing, improving notation writing. The three books studied had the same findings of other information that led to misconceptions, namely on average there were 1 improvements for each indication found

Abstract

The 21st century is marked by the rapid progress of knowledge, information and communication and technology. To develop the some abilities of students in the 21st century, they must have good the literacy skills. The government has encouraged literacy skills of students through the school literacy program. Besides that, the government also has tried to improve learning outcomes of students through integrated science teaching. However, the real condition indicated that the integration of science learning material in schools was still low. The average value of integration of the science learning material in the student worksheet which used in the Padang city was 53.87. The solution to this problem is to implement the integrated science student worksheet by integrating the literacy skills. The purpose of the research was to determine the effect of the use of the integrated science student worksheet on the theme of motion in daily life by integrating literacy skills in the scientific approach to the learning outcomes of grade VIII students in SMPN 25 Padang. The type of research was a quasi-experimental with Randomized Control-Group Only Design. The sampling technique used both purposive sampling and cluster random sampling. The instrument for collecting the data on learning outcomes of students consists of three parts, namely the attitude observation sheet for the attitude aspect, the knowledge test sheet in the form of a post test for the knowledge aspect, and the scientific performance assessment sheet for the skill aspect. The research data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, normality test, homogeneity test and comparison test of two means. Based on data analysis, it can be stated that the use of the integrated science student worksheet on the theme of motion in daily life by integrating the literacy skills in the scientific approach has a significant effect on student learning outcomes on aspects of knowledge, skills, and attitudes with a 95% confidence level. This result also indicated that the integrated science student worksheet on the theme of motion in daily life by integrating the literacy skills in the scientific approach is effectively used in science teaching by science teachers for grade VIII students.

Abstract

Abstract—Purpose of  this  research  were  to  determine  the  validity  of  Interactive  Multimedia,to  describe  the  Interactive Multimedia, and determine the practicality and effectivity of application Interactive Multimedia in learning process.Type of research is  Research and  Development                     (R&D)  by  using before-after experimental design.  Objects of  the  research are Interactive Multimedia and the students in grade XI IPA 1 SMAN 3 Padang with 31 people. Data collection instruments were used in this research were: validity test sheet, practicality sheet and student learning outcomes test sheet. Products and data analysis technique used the analysis of the validity of the product, analysis of the practicality and analysis of effectivity. Based on the analysis of data can be presented three results of the study. First, Interactive Multimedia produced is valid with value 80,57. Second, Interactive Multimedia by using Moodle have good design with the main menu design, introduction, about, guidance, materials, exercises, quizzes, and chat . Third, the result of interactive multimedia is practice with an average value of practicality by Physics teacher is 90.56% and 82.39% practicality by students. Abstract

Sciences learning material should be conducted in integrated form, but reality show that learning is still separated in the junior high school. The learning material which is used in printed form in the school. On the other hand, learning material doesn’t integrate characther values yet. Solution to solve this problem is to implement integrated sciences student worksheet by integrating character values based on ICT. Learning material on student worksheet consist of characteristic of materials, digestive system, additive and addictive substance. The purpose of this research is to investigate effect of integrated sciences student worksheet by integrating character values based on ICT toward students competence grade VIII in SMPN 1 Padang. The type of this research is a quasi experimental by randomized control group only design. The population of this research are students grade VIII in SMPN 1 Padang in academic year 2014/2015. As samples in this research are students grade VIII.F as experiment group and grade VIII.G as control group. Instrument to collect data consist of written test sheet of student learning outcome, observation sheet of student attitude, and performance sheet of student skill. Data analyses use compare mean test. Based on analyses of data can be stated, there are two research results. First, students competence in learning by using integrated sciences student worksheet by integrating the character values based on ICT on knowledge, attitude, and skill domain respectly 82.50, 82.87, and 83.45. Second, the use integrated sciences student worksheet by integrating the character values based on ICT on characteristic of materials, digestive system, additive and addictive substance gives significant effect toward students competence grade VIII in SMPN 1 Padang at significant level 95%

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum requires teachers to encourage students to be able the 21 st century skills consist critical thinking, creativ thinking, communicaton, and collaboratively. To achieve this, teacher must practice using learning strategies with an orientation to train students to be able have 4C skills. This relates to the learning component that must be prepared by the teacher such as teaching materials. The aim of research was conducted to study the availability of the 4C component at physics worksheets of senior high school for XII. The population of data in this study were physics worksheets class XII made by teacher.The samples in this research are fourth Physics worksheets made by physics teacher. The data in this study were taken using physics worksheets presentation analysis instrument with the data analysis technique is a content study and data collection techniques through documentation studies. Based on the analysis result, it can be concluded the analysis of the Physics Worsheets at Senior High School for XII related to availability of the 4C component shows that physics worksheets who obtained a percentage with the fulfillment of the indicator on the highest 4C component is critical thinking indicators obtained a score 59% with category enough facilitated and the lower is collaboration get a score 42,71%.

Abstract

The application of learning in the classroom cannot be separated from learning model and tools needed in learning. Among the model and needs are learning cycle 5E and assessment. This is the research that is focused on making authentic assessment for Learning Cycle 5E model with measured validity value. The mater that chosen are momentum, impulse and simple harmonic motion. In this research, an authentic assessment worksheet product was made. Making an authentic assessment is done by following the step of authentic assessment making by O’Malley. Whereas for the manufacture of the authentic assessment worksheet product done by using step provided in the instruction of development of teaching textbook by the Ministry of National Education (2008). To determine the value of product validity, a validation process was carried out twice. First validation shows the validity value as 80,12 means it is stated the product is valid. The increase in value of product validity is seen in the second validation which the score is 86,57 that is can be concluded as the authentic assessment was made are very valid.

Abstract

Learning in school still not involve active participation of students. so that student learning outcomes in the cognitive domain is still low, because many students are simply stunned and did not participate in the study, which is done by applying alternative based LKS PQ4R provide opportunities for students to interact, engage actively in learning activities. This study aimed to investigate the effect of LKS PQ4R Based on the results of science learning physics class VIII SMP N 1 Linggo Sari Baganti. Type of research is quasi-experimental research by design "Randomized Control Group Design Only". The study population was a student of class VIII SMP N 1 Linggo Sari Baganti enrolled in Academic Year 2012/2013 consists of 5 classes. Cluster sampling with random sampling techniques. As a sample drawn 5 class VIII as an experimental class VIII and class 4 as the control class. Research instruments such as achievement test, observation format affective and psychomotor assessment sheet. The data obtained were analyzed using two similarity test average on the real level of 0.05. Based on the analysis of data, study results obtained on the three domains, namely cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. It can be concluded that there is significant influence between students who use worksheets based PQ4R with the use of existing school worksheets on learning outcomes of students' science Physics.   Keywords: Student Worksheet, PQ4R, Science, Learning Outcome

Abstract

Multiple representations are recommended for the better understanding of the concepts of physic. One of the concept that we can use is Free Body Diagram (FBD). Free body diagram is a diagram that describes all of the external forces that work on an object in x and y direction. The aim of this research is to examine the influence of the application of free body diagram towards high school students’s abylity to solve physic problems about Newton’s Law. This research used Quasi Experiment Research with Randomized Control-Group Only Design as research design. The population of this research is all of the first grade student of SMA N 14 Padang in 2017/2018 year study. The result of this study showed there is the difference of Mean between sample classes significantly. The coefficient of correlation between the application of free body diagram and high school student’s ability to solve physic problems is about 0,71. It means the correlation is strong. The determination coefficient of this research  is 51,01% or the influence of the treatment is 51,01% toward the ability of student to solve physic problems about Newton’s Law.

Abstract

ICT student worksheet of integrated science by integrating character values is a learning solution for 2013 curriculum. The purpose of this research is to determine the validity, description, practicality, and effectiveness of ICT student worksheet of integrated science by integrating character values. The type of research is Research and Development (R&D). The design of this research is before and after of treatment. The object of research is ICT student worksheet of integrated science by integrating character values. Instruments to collecting data are validity instrument, practicality instrument, and effectiveness instrument that consist of knowledge test sheet, observation sheet, and performance sheet. There are three data analysis, those are description statistic, graph method, and correlated t-test. This research gives two main results. First, worksheet validity is in very valid criteria. Product description is good criteria. Second, worksheet practicality is in very practice criteria. ICT student worksheet of integrated science by integrating character values to digestive system, chemical material, and pressure of liquid substance for 8th grade junior high school student are effective used in science learning activity
