Abstract

The mishandled baggage incident at JAS Airport Services reflects the weakness of communication management within the complex and dynamic environment of ground handling operations. This study aims to analyze communication management strategies in responding to crises and evaluate their effectiveness in maintaining service quality. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that internal communication failures—ranging from the lack of enforcement of communication objectives to the absence of regular evaluations—were the root causes of the crisis. As a result, JAS not only suffered financial losses but also faced reputational risks with international airlines as key clients. Linked to the SERVQUAL model, the incident affected several dimensions, including reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. This study highlights that communication must become an organizational culture, not merely an administrative procedure, in order to maintain service quality and prevent recurring crises.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a public health issue with negative impacts on adolescents, particularly in terms of reproductive health, education, and social well-being. Preventing early marriage requires effective educational strategies tailored to the characteristics of adolescents. This study aims to analyze the effect of peer group education on increasing adolescents' knowledge about early marriage. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group approach was used, conducted in Borongloe Subdistrict, Bontomarannu District, Gowa Regency. The sample consisted of 100 adolescents aged 15–18 years, divided equally into intervention and control groups, with 50 participants each. The intervention was carried out through peer group discussions facilitated by trained peer educators, covering materials on reproductive health and the impacts of early marriage. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge in the intervention group compared to the control group. These findings indicate that peer group education is an effective and inclusive method that can enhance adolescents' understanding of the risks of early marriage. Peer group education is recommended as an intervention strategy in child marriage prevention programs, especially in areas with strong social norms.

Abstract

Families with children with special needs (CWSN) face unique and diverse challenges that affect not only the individual child but also the entire family structure. The emotional, psychological, and social strain borne by parents—especially mothers—often surpasses that experienced by families without CWSN. The Family Quality of Life (FQoL) paradigm serves as a crucial framework for understanding how families with CWSN evaluate their overall life satisfaction. Family therapy is increasingly recognized as a holistic intervention aimed at enhancing FQoL by focusing on the family unit as a whole. By improving communication, emotional well-being, and equitable distribution of caregiving responsibilities, family therapy has the potential to foster a more harmonious and enriched family atmosphere. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of family therapy in improving the FQoL of families with CWSN. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through the FQoL scale questionnaire, in-depth interviews, and observations. The results show significant improvements in emotional well-being, family relationships, and social support dimensions following the intervention. These findings suggest that family therapy is a strategic intervention for creating a healthier and more empowered caregiving ecosystem and highlight the importance of implementing family therapy as a supportive intervention for families with CWSN, thereby enhancing their overall and integrative quality of life.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of performance evaluation (feedback) on the self-efficacy of counsellors in training in Indonesia using a mixed-method sequential explanatory approach. Quantitative analysis (SEM-PLS) revealed that feedback significantly influences self-efficacy (β = 0.323, p = 0.042), though with a modest effect size (R² = 10.4%). Qualitative findings identified three key themes: (1) constructive feedback (specific, solution-focused, and dialogic) as most effective, (2) self-reflection as a mediator, and (3) the critical role of a supportive environment. The study highlights the need for structured feedback rubrics, integrated reflection sessions, and collaborative evaluation practices to enhance self-efficacy. These findings contribute to the development of evidence-based training models for counselor preparation programs in Indonesia, addressing gaps in conventional evaluation systems.

Abstract

This study discusses legal aspects, forms of sanctions, as well as efforts to recover and prevent violations in mining activities of non-metallic minerals and rocks (MBLB) in North Sumatra province. Based On The North Sumatra Regional Regulation No. 2 year 2013, businesses must have a license to carry out mining activities to ensure sustainable governance. Non-compliance with this regulation resulted in negative impacts including environmental damage, social conflicts, and loss of local revenue potential. In law enforcement, the sanctions applied include criminal penalties in the form of imprisonment and fines, along with the obligation to restore the environment by business actors. Enforcement proceedings also involve investigation, seizure of evidence, as well as supervision of the execution of court decisions. The research method used is normative juridical approach with qualitative analysis. The results showed that the success of mine governance depends on the synergy between adaptive regulation, consistent law enforcement, and active participation of all stakeholders. The use of modern technology and regular regulatory evaluation are also key to improving the effectiveness of surveillance and Prevention of violations. With an integrated approach, the mining sector of non-metallic minerals and rocks is expected to provide sustainable economic benefits without compromising environmental sustainability and community welfare. This study recommends strengthening the capacity of law enforcement officials, increasing transparency, and regulatory education to business actors as strategic steps to prevent violations in the future.

Abstract

Forced defense (noodweer) is one of the justifications in criminal law that can eliminate criminal liability for an act that is basically unlawful, but is carried out to defend oneself from an unlawful attack. The regulation regarding noodweer still often causes debate in judicial practice, especially in cases of abuse. This study aims to examine the regulation of forced defense in Indonesian criminal law and analyze its application in cases of criminal abuse. This study uses a normative legal method with a statutory approach and a conceptual approach, through analysis of secondary legal materials. The case study in case No. 101/Pid.B/2024/PN.Snj shows that the judge acquitted the defendant because he was proven to have committed a forced defense. The elements of defense that can eliminate criminal liability include an unlawful attack, actions carried out proportionally and subsidiary, not accompanied by malicious intent, and carried out at the place and time of the incident. These results show the importance of a proper understanding of the concept of noodweer in the criminal justice process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of employee integrity, work ethics, and loyalty on employee performance at the Branch Office of Secondary and Special Education in the Aru Islands Regency. A quantitative approach was employed, using survey methods through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, along with classical assumption tests including normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation. The results show that partially, employee integrity and work ethics have a positive and significant effect on performance, while loyalty does not have a significant effect. However, simultaneously, all three independent variables have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.911 indicates that 91.1% of the variation in employee performance is explained by integrity, work ethics, and loyalty. These findings highlight the importance of fostering values of integrity and ethical work culture in improving employee performance. Moreover, evaluating employee loyalty is crucial to ensure it is active and contributive to organizational goals. This study recommends strengthening human resources through value-based and character-based development.
