Abstract

The electrification of remote and isolated areas remains a major challenge in Indonesia, particularly in 3T (Outermost, Frontier, and Disadvantaged) regions that still rely on diesel power plants with limited operating hours. This study evaluates the technical and economic feasibility of replacing an existing diesel power plant (PLTD) with an off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) system integrated with battery energy storage at the Gunung Purei Village Electricity Unit (ULD), Central Kalimantan. The proposed system is designed to transform a 14-hour diesel-based operation into a continuous 24-hour electricity supply. Technical analysis was conducted using PVsyst to assess energy production and performance ratio (PR), while economic feasibility was evaluated using HOMER Pro through indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), Profitability Index (PI), and Discounted Payback Period (DPP). The study compares monocrystalline and polycrystalline PV modules under different battery autonomy scenarios. Results show that the optimal configuration consists of a 588 kWp off-grid solar PV system using 940 monocrystalline PV modules, five 100 kW inverters, a 500 kW power conversion system, and 27 battery sets with a total capacity of 2.94 MWh (one-day autonomy). This configuration achieves a performance ratio of 34.78% and satisfies the annual load demand of 896.19 MWh. From an economic perspective, the system is feasible, yielding a positive NPV of IDR 8.36 billion, a PI of 1.30, and a DPP of 24.77 years. The findings confirm that off-grid solar PV–battery systems using monocrystalline modules provide a technically reliable and economically viable solution for replacing diesel generation in remote electrified villages, while supporting Indonesia’s renewable energy mix target of 23%.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the most effective dosage of banana stem compost as a growing medium for black pepper seedlings (Piper nigrum L.). The experiment was arranged using a single-factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of five compost dosages: R0 (soil without compost), R1 (100 g compost/kg soil), R2 (200 g compost/kg soil), R3 (300 g compost/kg soil), and R4 (400 g compost/kg soil). Each treatment was replicated five times, resulting in 25 experimental units, with each unit consisting of five pepper seedlings. The observed variables included shoot length, number of leaves, root length, fresh weight, and dry weight of seedlings at 12 weeks after transplanting. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by Bartlett’s test for homogeneity and Tukey’s test to examine data additivity. When the F-test indicated significant effects, orthogonal polynomial analysis at the 5% and 1% significance levels was conducted. The results showed that banana stem compost significantly influenced shoot length, number of leaves, and root length, but did not significantly affect fresh and dry biomass. The optimal dosage was 300 g compost/kg soil, which supported balanced growth above and below the ground. Overall, banana stem compost demonstrated strong potential as a locally available organic material for pepper seedling production.

Abstract

This study provides an original contribution by integrating multiple regional economic analysis tools to examine sectoral linkages and inclusive growth dynamics in the Rebana Metropolitan Area, a newly designated growth center in West Java. The research aims to identify base, prospective, and competitive sectors and to assess their implications for inclusive and balanced regional economic development. Using quantitative analysis of GRDP data from 2020–2023, the study applies Location Quotient, Dynamic Location Quotient, Klassen Typology, and shift-share analysis. The empirical results indicate that the manufacturing sector is simultaneously a base, prospective, and highly competitive sector, making it the main driver of economic growth in the Rebana Region. In contrast, other base sectors do not consistently show strong future prospects, while several supporting and service sectors demonstrate positive competitive dynamics, suggesting emerging economic diversification. These findings imply the need for an integrated development strategy that strengthens intersectoral and interregional linkages, upgrades socially important but less prospective sectors, and promotes a more equitable distribution of development benefits to support inclusive and sustainable economic transformation in West Java.

Abstract

Weather radar is a vital component of atmospheric observation systems, particularly in tropical regions such as Indonesia that are highly vulnerable to extreme rainfall. The S-band frequency range is well known for its low rain attenuation and favorable propagation stability, making it suitable for long-range weather monitoring. However, the expansion of International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) services in adjacent frequency bands introduces challenges related to spectrum coexistence and potential interference that require comprehensive assessment. This study evaluates the technical feasibility and regulatory compatibility of the 2.7–2.9 GHz frequency band for S-band weather radar operation in Indonesia by considering tropical rainfall characteristics, electromagnetic wave propagation, and national spectrum management dynamics. The analysis employs rain attenuation and rainfall distribution models based on ITU-R recommendations, along with a review of national and international spectrum regulations, including an assessment of potential interference from IMT systems through unwanted emission and emission mask analyses. The results indicate that S-band weather radar operating at 2.7–2.9 GHz exhibits low rain attenuation under high-intensity rainfall conditions and is capable of maintaining wide-area observational coverage. From a regulatory perspective, this frequency band is formally allocated and enables safe spectrum coexistence with IMT systems through the application of protection criteria, unwanted emission control, and appropriate guard band arrangements.

Abstract

Education is a dynamic sector that continually undergoes policy changes in line with societal demands and the pace of global development. These policy shifts directly impact the role of teachers, both in their pedagogical functions and in maintaining professional standards. Teachers are required to adapt to new regulations to perform their duties effectively. Failure to adapt may lead to decreased performance, ultimately affecting the quality of classroom learning. The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, which adopts a deep learning approach, demands teachers to adjust their competencies to carry out learning activities in accordance with its requirements. To address these challenges, the school implements In House Training (IHT) and academic supervision as strategies for professional teacher development. This study aims to analyze the role of IHT and academic supervision in improving teacher performance in the domain of pedagogical competence across three key aspects: lesson planning, instructional implementation, and learning evaluation. This research employs a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The main informants include school supervisors, the school principal, the vice principal for curriculum, and teachers. The results indicate that IHT significantly enhances teachers’ understanding of lesson plan development, differentiated instruction, and formative assessment. Meanwhile, academic supervision ensures the implementation of these competencies through pre-observation, classroom observation, reflection, and follow-up activities. Overall, there is a substantial improvement in teachers’ abilities to design relevant instructional materials, apply active learning strategies, utilize digital media, and conduct more systematic learning assessments.
