Abstract

This study aims to map trends and research patterns regarding the relationship between Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risk and firm value through a bibliometric approach. Although the concept of ESG is increasingly widely adopted in global business and investment practices, the results of academic research related to its impact on corporate value still show inconsistencies. Some studies have found that ESG is able to improve reputation, reduce risk, and strengthen company value, while others show negative impacts due to increased costs or misalignment of strategies. To answer this uncertainty, this study uses a data-based bibliometric analysis method from Scopus, with a total of 153 articles selected based on certain exclusion criteria in the period 2016–2025. Visualization and analysis were carried out using VOSviewer and RStudio software, and supported by a systematic literature review. The results of the analysis show a significant increase in the number of ESG publications since 2020, with contributions dominating from countries such as India, the United States, and China. In addition, there are five main thematic clusters in ESG research: governance and risk, corporate social responsibility (CSR), corporate value and performance, strategy and competitiveness, and theoretical perspectives. This study makes an important contribution in explaining the scientific landscape of ESG and firm value, as well as identifying research gaps that can be the basis for further research. These findings are relevant not only to academics, but also to investors, corporate managers, and policymakers who want to understand the strategic implications of ESG on corporate value.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) on electricity production at the Mrica Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA Mrica) in Central Java from 2013 to 2023. ENSO is global climate phenomenon, influences rainfall and ocean circulation in various regions, including Indonesia. Data on rainfall and river discharge from the Serayu River were analyzed to determine how ENSO affects the operational efficiency of PLTA Mrica. The study reveals that strong El Niño events, such as those in 2015, significantly reduced river discharge, leading to decreased electricity production. Conversely, the La Niña event in 2020 increased river discharge, enhancing electricity production. The findings underscore the critical need for adaptive water resource management and continuous monitoring to optimize electricity generation at PLTA Mrica, particularly in the face of climate variability induced by ENSO. This research contributes to understanding the relationship between climate phenomena and hydroelectric power generation.

Abstract

Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) are a concrete form of people's sovereignty in directly electing leaders. Since the implementation of direct Pilkada, various community organizations have begun to actively participate, including Pemuda Pancasila. This study aims to determine the form of political participation of members of the Pemuda Pancasila organization in the 2024 Pilkada in Majalengka Regency, the factors that influence their participation, and the interaction of this organization with political parties and other mass organizations. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, FGDs, observations, and social media documentation. The results of the study show that Pemuda Pancasila plays an active role in campaigns and mass mobilization with a background of organizational solidarity, loyalty to internal leadership, and the influence of local elites. Their participation is also relevant to Huntington's theory of political participation and Watson's behaviorist communication. This study concludes that Pemuda Pancasila's role as a non-party political actor can strengthen or challenge local democratic practices, depending on how they navigate this role within the boundaries of democratic law and ethics.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and explain the Implementation of the Community Empowerment Program from Various Sources of Village Funds in Bagan Melibur, Meranti Islands Regency. The theory used in this study is the Empowerment theory of Aprilia Theresia, et al. (2014) and Team Work Lapera (2001) which emphasizes several limitations of empowered village communities, namely: welfare problems, problems of access to resources, problems of awareness, the ability to understand the problems faced; and participation problems. The nature of this study is qualitative with a descriptive analytical type. The number of informants was 17 people through purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques were by interviews and observations. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the community empowerment program from various sources of village funds was not yet effective, because at the preparation stage there was no provision of expert assistants, lack of data and information about the state of village potential related to the productive economic community empowerment program. Community empowerment has not been optimal due to lack of access to capital and mentoring and training. Lack of assistance and provision of agricultural mechanization, superior seed technology, fertilizers, pesticides, and others, which are needed by farmers. The poor performance of BUMDES and Village Cooperatives and the lack of partnerships with private companies in both production and marketing of products. Incorporating a cultural approach in the implementation of community empowerment programs in Bagan Melibur is essential to align development initiatives with local values, traditions, and social norms, thereby enhancing community participation and ownership. This approach leverages existing social cohesion and indigenous knowledge to overcome challenges related to resource access, awareness, and institutional performance, ultimately fostering more sustainable and effective empowerment outcomes.

Islamic character education in the family plays an important role in shaping children's personalities based on Islamic values. Buya Hamka's thoughts on character education emphasize the importance of the family as the main foundation in instilling noble moral values and faith. This study aims to identify the pattern of Islamic character education in the family according to Hamka's perspective, by referring to his works and thoughts, especially those related to ethics, morality, and Islamic character development. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, analyzing Hamka's works such as Tafsir Al-Azhar and the book Lembaga Budi. The results of the study show that Hamka emphasized three main components in Islamic character education: (1) parental exemplars in implementing Islamic values, (2) habituation of worship and noble morals in daily life, and (3) strengthening spirituality through instilling the values of monotheism. In addition, Hamka also emphasized the importance of harmonious communication in the family to build an environment conducive to the formation of Islamic character. These findings contribute to the development of Islamic character education patterns that are relevant to the challenges of modern Muslim families.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to Analyzing and Explaining the Implementation of the Balanced Fund Policy Its Implications on the Minimum Service Standards for Sustainable Development in the City of Pekanbaru. This research uses the theory of the implementation of Edward III's policy and Government Regulation Number 2 of 2018 concerning Minimum Service Standards and Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 100 of 2018 concerning the Implementation of Minimum Service Standards, as guidelines in the preparation of planning documents in the implementation of SPM in the area of the head office. Therefore, the Development of Competence in the Preparation of Planning Documents in terms of the implementation of SPM in the Scope of the Head Office area will provide a clear overview of the vision, mission, goals and strategies as well as the direction of regional development policies as well as the minimum service standards that have been promised to the community." Minimum Service Standards (SPM) is a provision regarding the type and quality of basic services which are Mandatory Government Affairs that every citizen is entitled to obtain at a minimum. SPM is determined and applied based on the principles of conformity of authority, availability, affordability, sustainability, measurability and accuracy of targets". The nature of this research is qualitative with an analytical descriptive type. The number of informants was 27 people through purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques with interviews and observations. The policy facilitates the allocation of central government funds to local authorities, enabling improvements in essential public services such as education, health, infrastructure, and social welfare. However, the effectiveness of this policy is contingent upon the capacity of local institutions to manage funds efficiently, coordinate inter-agency efforts, and align planning with regulatory requirements. Challenges including administrative constraints, delayed disbursements, and limited community engagement have impacted the full realization of service standards. Nevertheless, when effectively implemented, the Balance Fund Policy contributes significantly to enhancing service availability, equity, and quality, which are foundational for sustainable urban development.
