Abstract

The purpose of this study was to Improve the Learning Outcomes of 50-meter Sprint Short-distance Running Through Modified Play in Class V Students of SD Tunas Harapan Tanjung Anom Academic Year 2024/2025. This research method is classroom action research. The location of this research is at SD Tunas Harapan Tanjung Anom. This research was conducted in July 2024. The subjects who received the action in this study were all 34 students of Class V SD Tunas Harapan Tanjung Anom. The results of the post-test I above can be seen that the learning outcomes of students in sprint learning in athletics learning turned out that out of 34 students, there were 20 students (58.82%) who had achieved the level of learning completion, while 14 students (41.18%) had not achieved the level of learning completion in learning the 50-meter sprint short-distance running. With an average value obtained in cycle I reaching 74.26. From the data on learning outcomes in cycle II obtained, it can be seen that students' ability to carry out the 50-meter sprint short-distance running learning outcome test classically has increased. Of the 34 students, 30 students (88.23%) have achieved learning completion. Meanwhile, 4 students (11.77%) have not achieved learning completion with an average student learning outcome of 79.90. In cycle II, the teaching and learning process went well when compared to cycle I. Thus, it can be said that through the modification of play applied by the teacher, it ended in cycle II with the learning outcomes of the 50-meter sprint short distance running which were previously low to increase. The conclusion is that there was an increase in the Learning Outcomes of the 50-meter Sprint Short Distance Running Through Modified Play in Class V Students of SD Tunas Harapan Tanjung Anom Academic Year 2024/2025.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to examine the difference in swimming speed between freestyle and breaststroke over a 30-meter distance among Sports Science students at Universitas Negeri Makassar. Freestyle is widely recognized for its biomechanical efficiency compared to breaststroke, and is therefore hypothesized to result in shorter completion times. A quantitative approach with a comparative research design was employed. The sample consisted of 22 students (17 males and 5 females) who were proficient in both swimming techniques. Time data were collected through direct stopwatch measurements and analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The analysis revealed that the mean completion time for freestyle was 27.60 seconds (SD = 7.17), whereas breaststroke recorded a mean time of 38.75 seconds (SD = 8.32). Statistical testing indicated a significant difference between the two styles (t = 7.11; p < 0.001), confirming that freestyle is significantly faster than breaststroke over a 30-meter distance. These findings provide valuable insights for the development of swimming training programs, particularly in enhancing speed and movement efficiency. Keywords: Swimming, breaststroke, freestyle, speed, student.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of physical activity and motor skills on social interaction in children aged 3-5 years. This research can address the issues faced by early childhood children who lack social interaction with their peers and serve as input in program planning related to the problems that occur, namely motor skills and social interaction in early childhood, as well as broaden the understanding, especially regarding physical activity and motor skills on social interaction in early childhood. The type of research is quantitative research using the Pre-Experimental method. The population in this study consists of 30 people and the sample consists of 15 people. The data collection technique used is in the form of questionnaires or survey sheets. The data analysis technique uses a Likert scale as the scoring scale and the average value for the validation criteria using the presentation of the assessment scores. The results of this study were conducted using a One-Group Pretest-Posttest, which includes a pretest to determine the initial condition, followed by a post-test to determine whether there is an effect of physical activity and motor skills on social interaction in children aged 3-5 years after treatment. There is a significant influence between the impact of physical activity on social interaction in children aged 3-5 years and the influence of motor skills on social interaction in children. The result of the T-test for motor skills is 15.62, greater than the result of the T-test for physical activity, which is 1.5.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using video tutorial media on improving the ability of waist throw techniques and cognitive learning outcomes of students in wrestling courses. The method used is a quasi-experiment with a pretest–posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 20 students who were selected purposively, consisting of two groups: the experimental group that was given learning treatment using video tutorials, and the control group that was given conventional learning. The research instruments were in the form of observation sheets for throwing skills and cognitive tests. Data analysis used normality, homogeneity, and t-tests. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the ability of waist throw techniques in the experimental group (an average increase of 25.1 points) compared to the control group (9.2 points). Likewise, cognitive learning outcomes also increased significantly in the experimental group (25.3 points) compared to the control group (12.1 points). The t-test showed a significance value of <0.05 for both variables. It can be concluded that learning using video tutorial media is effective in improving the skills of waist throw techniques and cognitive learning outcomes of students. This media can be an alternative in teaching sports techniques that require visualization and repetition of movements.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of South Sulawesi's local culture-based aerobic dances on enhancing cardiovascular endurance and flexibility. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest group approach. The research subjects consisted of 20 healthy young women aged 18–25 years. The intervention program was conducted over eight weeks, with participants attending three sessions per week, each lasting 45 minutes. The aerobic dance program incorporated traditional South Sulawesi dance movements and music. Cardiovascular endurance was measured using the Beep Test, while flexibility was assessed through the Sit and Reach test. The results showed a significant increase in both variables with p < 0.05. These findings indicate that local culture-based aerobic dances are effective in enhancing physical fitness while providing a more meaningful and enjoyable exercise experience through cultural engagement. This research provides a scientific foundation for developing physical training programs based on local wisdom that can be implemented in community-based physical activities.
