Abstract

This research examines the construction of gender in modern English literature through a narrative analysis of the representation and negotiation of gender identity in contemporary socio-cultural contexts. The approach used is a qualitative analysis with a focus on works of modern English literature published in the late 20th to early 21st centuries. The theoretical frameworks used include feminist theory and narrative theory to examine how gender is formed through characterizations, storylines, points of view, and symbolic structures in texts. The results suggest that modern English literature tends to represent gender as a dynamic social construct and is no longer seen as a fixed biological identity. The authors utilize a variety of narrative strategies, such as fragmented plots, unreliable narrators, and perspective shifts, to deconstruct traditional gender norms as well as display the complexities of identity formation. In addition, dominant themes such as resistance to patriarchal structures, the redefinition of masculinity and femininity, and the emergence of non-binary gender representation were found. This research also confirms that narrative techniques have an important role in shaping readers' understanding of gender issues. Thus, narrative analysis makes a significant contribution to understanding the dynamics of gender construction in modern English literature as well as the development of gender discourse in contemporary contexts.

Abstract

Organizational silence is a phenomenon that has the potential to hinder the effectiveness of educational leadership, especially in complex urban school environments. This study aims to analyze the form, causative factors, and impact of organizational silence in public high schools in South Tangerang City and West Jakarta. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The data was analyzed thematically. The results of the study show that organizational silence is reflected in low teacher participation in decision-making, dominance of top-down communication, and reluctance to convey criticism. Key factors include hierarchical organizational culture, performance pressures, concerns about professional risks, and weak psychological safety. This condition has an impact on the inhibition of innovation, the low quality of decisions, and the lack of involvement of educators. This research emphasizes the importance of transformational leadership that encourages open and participatory communication to create an adaptive organizational environment in the context of urban education.

Abstract

The development of maternal-fetal blood anatomy learning and circulatory simulation media is important to strengthen the clinical reasoning skills of midwifery students, especially in understanding complex physiological concepts that are difficult to explain through conventional learning methods. This study aims to analyze the development and use of anatomical imentmage media, three-dimensional cardiac simulation models, and YouTube-based educational videos in improving conceptual understanding and clinical reasoning among midwifery students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design involving 10-20 participants who were deliberately selected. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, limited observations, and documentation during learning activities using simulation media. The results of the study show that the simulation media developed improves students' understanding of mother-fetal blood circulation and cardiac anatomy in a more comprehensive, interactive, and contextual manner. The use of visual and audio-visual media also strengthens clinical reasoning skills by encouraging analytical and systematic thinking patterns. In addition, students report an increase in learning motivation, engagement, and interest in independent learning because the media is easier to understand and more interesting than conventional lecture methods. This study concludes that the development of technology-based simulation media contributes significantly to strengthening clinical reasoning and improving the quality of learning in midwifery education.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Vocabulary mastery is essential in English learning, especially for elementary students in EFL contexts. However, many learners face difficulties in understanding, retaining, and using vocabulary due to conventional teaching methods that rely heavily on memorization. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of language games in improving students’ vocabulary mastery, identify the most effective types of games, and analyze their impact on motivation and classroom participation. The research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, involving planning, action, observation, and reflection. It was conducted at SD Sultan Iskandar Muda with 40 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, observations, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results showed significant improvement in vocabulary achievement, with mean scores increasing from 58.4 (pre-test) to 68.7 (Cycle I) and 82.3 (Cycle II). The percentage of students achieving the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) rose from 30% to 55% and then 85%. Qualitative findings revealed that games such as word matching, memory cards, guessing games, and role-play effectively enhanced vocabulary retention, motivation, participation, and students’ confidence in learning.
