Abstract

Concentration is the concentration of the soul's function on an object, for example a child is said to concentrate on a lesson if he can focus on what is being learned, by concentrating the child is not easily distracted from other problems beyond what he is studying. So concentration is one of the supporting aspects of students to achieve good performance. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of labyrinth playing therapy on the concentration of mentally retarded children in the Autistic State SLB of North Sumatra. This research method uses a Pre-Experiment with One Group Pre-Post test design. The study population of mentally retarded children used a purposive sampling technique with a total of 15 people. Methods of data collection using observation sheets. The statistical test used is the Unpaired sample t-test. The results of this study note that there is a significant difference. The results of the unpaired sample t-test obtained the value before being given maze playing therapy, the average concentration value of the child was 26.46. And after being given labyrinth play therapy the average value of the child's concentration increased, namely 74.33. The p-value of 0.000 <0.05 means that there is an effect of labyrinth playing therapy on the concentration of mentally retarded children in the Autistic State SLB of North Sumatra. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of labyrinth playing therapy on the concentration of mentally retarded children in the North Sumatra Autistic SLB. So it is recommended that teachers are able to apply this therapy as an alternative in improving children's concentration and vision.

Abstract

The high quality of sleep problems that occur in the elderly requires appropriate treatment to increase the fulfillment of sleep needs. Poor sleep quality can have an impact on the physical and psychosocial aspects of the elderly. Increasing the fulfillment of sleep quality needs can be done by teaching ways to stimulate and motivate sleep. One way that can be done is foot massage, a form of technique that involves moving the limbs. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of foot massage on sleep quality in the elderly. The quasi-experimental research design used the one group pretest and posttest only design approaches. The population of this study were 60 people. Sampling of this study using purposive sampling with a total of 30 people. Data processing editing, coding, scoring, and tabulating with Wilcoxon test analysis. The results of this study note that there are differences before and after being given education. Wilcoxon results in the study obtained a p value of 0.003 <0.05, meaning that there was an effect of foot massage on sleep quality in the elderly at the Frequent Health Center in Medan Tembung District in the intervention group, while a p value was obtained of 0.157> 0.05 meaning that there was no effect of foot massage on sleep quality in the elderly at the Sering District Health Center in Medan Tembung in the control group. The conclusion of this study, in the intervention group, namely that there was an effect of foot massage on sleep quality in the elderly at the Sering Community Health Center, Medan Tembung District, while in the control group, there was no effect of foot massage on sleep quality for the elderly at the Sering Public Health Center, Medan Tembung District. So it is hoped that the community will continue to apply regular foot massage activities for the elderly who experience poor sleep quality.

Abstract

The nursing management field encompasses a range of responsibilities and roles, including overseeing staff, coordinating patient care, managing budgets, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met (Mitchell et al., 2022). The nursing management field involves overseeing staff, coordinating patient care, managing budgets, and ensuring quality and safety standards (Kinshella et al., 2020). Factors such as understaffed units and high turnover rates can hinder effective training (Kinshella et al., 2020). Improving service quality, working conditions, and management of the nursing workforce are crucial for fostering good nurse-client relationships (Isangula et al., 2022). Enhancing nursing students' presentation competencies can prepare them to address complex health challenges through critical thinking and effective communication (Haramba, 2023). Implementing programs like the "DelpHi-Standard" can enhance dementia care management by focusing on treatment, medication, and caregiver support (Eichler et al., 2013). Nurse practitioners play a vital role in providing specialized care and making informed decisions in primary healthcare settings (Sivertsen et al., 2022). The importance of nurse manager performance assessment cannot be understated.

The results of the study indicate that implementing the Butterfly Hugs and Eye Movement Desensitization and Resprocessing (EMDR) strategies can reduce self-healing work stressors for nurses. The analysis of the research method was widely studied using descriptive methods with a qualitative approach. The implementation of Eye Movement Desensitization and Resprocessing (EMDR) OR Butterfly Hugs OR EMDR Self Healing AND Nurse strategies can provide a reduction in work stressors and self-healing for nurses for the present and future.

The results found that most of respondents have good family support with good maternity compliance which is 12 respondents (54.5%). The data were collected through maternity compliance questionnaires with a value of Cronbach’s alpha = 0.749 and pregnant woman's compliance questionnaires with a value of Cronbach’s alpha = 0.756. From the analysis of the two variables above using Spearman Rho statistical tests, the significant values of the relationship of the two variables was (p)= 0.000 which is less than 0.05. It indicates a relationship between family support and compliance of pregnant women in Kakaskasen Health Center, while the correlation coefficient (r)= 0.821 indicates a very strong level of relationship between the dependent and the independent varibles.
