Abstract

Boccia is a sport for athletes with cerebral palsy that requires high accuracy and consistency. The ability to place the ball as close as possible to the jack is the main measure of victory. This study aims to analyse the impact of applying structured drill training methods on improving the ball placement skills of Indonesian national Boccia athletes on the left and right targets. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test single group design and a repeated measures design. The research sample consisted of 10 elite Indonesian national Boccia athletes who were preparing for international championships. Data collection tools were carried out using a Boccia ball throwing skill test on athletes with cerebral palsy. The data were analysed using IBM SPSS Statistics 27 software with repeated ANOVA tests. The results of the tests in the subject effects table showed differences in the pre-test and post-test mean data for ball placement skills on the jack on the left and right targets, with a sig. value of p<0.05. These results indicate that Boccia athletes were able to place the ball on the jack accurately and consistently after the intervention. From these results, it was concluded that structured drill training was effective in improving ball placement skills on the jack in Indonesian national Boccia athletes. These findings provide practical guidance for coaches in designing periodic training programs and for future researchers to integrate psychological factors such as competition anxiety into training interventions

Abstract

Student motivation is a key determinant of engagement and learning outcomes in junior high school Physical Education (PE), yet evidence indicates a decline in motivation during early adolescence. This study aimed to synthesize empirical findings on factors influencing students’ motivation in PE learning. A systematic literature review was conducted on 15 studies published between 2020 and 2025 and indexed in Scopus, Google Scholar, ERIC, and DOAJ. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results reveal that student motivation is influenced by three main domains: pedagogical, internal psychological, and social factors. Pedagogical factors particularly teacher autonomy support, activity variety, and mastery-oriented learning climates emerged as the most influential determinants of autonomous motivation and engagement. Internal psychological factors, such as perceived competence and task value, acted as key mediators, while social support from peers and families strengthened motivation indirectly. This review highlights the importance of student-centered instructional practices in enhancing motivation in junior high school Physical Education and suggests the need for longitudinal and intervention-based research, especially within the Indonesian context

Abstract

Optimal performance in various fields, such as sports, is highly dependent related to a person’s capacity to preserve consistent focus and attentiveness, especially in the psychological aspect. The study seeks to explore and assess the effectiveness generated through attention training techniques on imploving concentration and performance among taekwondo athletes. The study adopted an approach involving one group assessed both prior to and following the treatment was implemented for 10 sessions, scheduled thrice a week, involving 12 taekwondo athletes. A questionnaire derived from the TAIS (The Test of Attentional and Interpersonal Test) containing seven measurement dimensions serves as primary instrument of this study, then the calculation of athlete performance will use medal data before and after treatment, adjusted to the World Taekwondo Federation competition grade. The study’s data will be analyzed through SPSS, highlighting a considerable enhacement in taekwondo athletes’ performance and focus through the application of attention training techniques from Cirebon. The results demonstrate that attention training techniques produce a meaningful and beneficial impact on both the attention and performance of taekwondo athletes. Further studies are needed to apply this research to a broader and more diverse population and to examine the longer term effects of attention training techniques

Abstract

This study uses a quantitative approach with SmartPLS 4 software to analyze the impact of Physical Education Learning Innovation on the physical activity of elementary school students located in the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border region. In South Papua Province, Merauke, the results of the analysis using SmartPLS 4 software show that only certain indicators meet the test result requirements. Path coefficient test results, coefficient of 0.106, a t-value of 1.707, and a p-value of 0.088 (p > 0.05), so this hypothesis is rejected. However, only health awareness significantly influenced student activity, while physical education learning innovation did not. These findings highlight the crucial role of health awareness in encouraging physical activity among students.

Abstract

Modern football requires complex physical abilities, including strength, endurance, speed, agility, and coordination. Circuit training is an effective method for improving these physical components. The application of training that utilises local wisdom is considered to be able to increase motivation and the relevance of training programmes for young athletes. This article aims to describe the application of circuit training based on local wisdom for football athletes and its impact on improving physical abilities. The research uses a descriptive analytical method through literature studies and athlete interviews as stated in the football handbook. The results of the analysis show that circuit training combined with the utilisation of the local environment and culture can improve speed, muscle strength, endurance, and coordination. In addition to physical aspects, this approach also contributes to the character building of athletes through local values such as discipline, hard work, and togetherness.
