Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how using Edmodo as a computer-based learning (Call activity) affected students' intrinsic motivation to learn English. The study focused on this approach. The objective of this research was twofold: on the one hand, it directed to examine the effect of Edmodo on students’ intrinsic motivation in learning English; on the other hand, it tried to identify the best learning activities that could positively affect students’ intrinsic motivation in learning English. Total participant were 27 students. Sample were using the purposive sampling technique. The study adopted a mixed method. Paired sample t-test was run to reveal the impact of Edmodo on students’ intrinsic motivation. Results of the study show that there was no significant effect of Edmodo on students’ intrinsic motivation. This discrepancy was possibly caused by a number of factors, including the students’ perception toward Edmodo, technology, characteristics of language skills, and design of learning activities

Abstract

Within the 21st century learning framework, the blueprint of education in the future making the hybrid learning model ideal option including in learning English. In English learning, using certain kind of technology is important for creative and innovative learning and the students must take into account to decide their own learning model and media. This study aimed at exploring users’ Experiences in using “Book Creator” for creative and innovative English learning. Quantitative descriptive research was conducted to 26 students of English class as the users of Book Creator. Six scales of User Experience Questions (UEQ) were used and analyzed using UEQ tool. Generally, the participants responded positively towards the use of Book Creator in English learning. The level of users’ experiences in using Book Creator with an average scale of test result on six scales; attractiveness 1.667, Perspicuity 1.440, Efficiency 1.340, Dependability 0.620, Stimulation 1670, Novelty 1.070. The highest scale was on the stimulation scale at 1.670 which was categorized as “Excellent” while the lowest score was the Dependability at 0.620 which was categorized “bad”. In short, there is positive experience of the users in using Book Creator for learning and the alternative hypothesis is accepted

Abstract

This research was conducted to obtain an overview regarding the influence of the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model in mathematics learning in terms of students' creative thinking. The type of research used is experimentation with a quantitative approach. The sample in this study was taken using a saturated sampling technique with 25 students as an experimental class taught using the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model and 24 students as a control class taught using conventional learning. The instrument for collecting data is a questionnaire. The data normality test uses the Liliefors test and the homogeneity test uses Fisher. Hypothesis testing using the t test, shows tcount (2.73) > ttable (2.01) with ???? = 0.05 which states that ???????? is rejected, so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model in mathematics learning in terms of review. from students' creative thinking

Abstract

The aim of the research is to describe students' mathematical connection abilities in terms of self-efficacy. The objectives were achieved through descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects involved were 10 students of class AK 1 at SMKN 1 Cikarang Utara. The instruments for collecting data are mathematical connection test questions, self-efficacy questionnaires, and interview guides. The score of the test results is calculated and analyzed based on the level of achievement of the mathematical connection indicators. The percentage of questionnaire results was calculated based on self-efficacy indicators and analyzed based on categorization. Interview data is used to strengthen conclusions regarding whether there is a relationship between students' mathematical connection abilities and their self-efficacy. The results of data analysis show that the achievement of students' mathematical connection ability indicators is still relatively low, as shown by the achievement of the connection indicator with other scientific disciplines of only 31% and the connection indicator with daily life of only 0.69%. This low achievement is caused by the condition of students' self-efficacy which is categorized as poor at the strength level and not good at the magnitude and generality levels

Abstract

This study aims to increase the reading interest of grade XI students using the quantum reading method at SMK Negeri 1 Sogae'adu. This type of research is action research. This research uses qualitative data analysis techniques to describe and explain the data produced in the form of information. The subjects of this study were students from class XI in students from class XI at SMK Negeri 1 Sogae'adu, but researchers only made observations in one class, namely in the TKR (Light Vehicle Engineering) department class which amounted to 32 people. The results of the study in the first cycle were 68.30 with a percentage of classical learning completeness of 68.75%. This is because 10 people out of 32 students have not reached learning completion. In cycle II the average score increased to 75.94 with the percentage of classical learning completeness reaching 85.89%. The use of the Quantum Reading Method to improve reading skills in students is effective in improving learning outcomes and student activity in reading
