Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study evaluates the implementation of school financial management within the free school program at Senior High School 3 Palembang using the Stake evaluation model to assess effectiveness, transparency, and accountability in fund management. As education funding is crucial in ensuring equal learning opportunities, examining how financial resources are managed within tuition-free programs is essential for sustainable policy implementation. Despite regulatory guidelines, financial management in free school programs often encounters obstacles in coordination, supervision, and transparency. Methodology: This research adopts a qualitative case study approach, utilizing interviews, observations, and document analysis to gather in-depth insights. The Stake model framework evaluates the program through four dimensions: context, input, process, and product. Main Findings: Findings reveal that while financial management at Senior High School Palembang adheres to procedural standards, significant challenges persist in supervision mechanisms and budget reporting. Inefficiencies in fund allocation and monitoring impact the program’s effectiveness, highlighting the need for improved financial literacy among administrators and enhanced accountability measures. Novelty/Originality of the Study: The novelty of this study lies in its application of the Stake model to assess financial governance in free school programs, a relatively unexplored area in education management research. By providing a localized evaluation, this study enriches existing literature and offers practical recommendations for policymakers, school administrators, and education stakeholders. Strengthening financial transparency and accountability is crucial to ensuring that free education programs fulfill their intended objectives, fostering equitable access to quality education while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study explores the unique challenges faced by Social Studies educators from a state university in Central Luzon, Philippines, in passing the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) and aims to provide implications for enhancing preparation strategies and improving overall passing rates. Methodology: This study utilized a descriptive qualitative methodology, employing in-depth interviews, analytical memos, and self-reflective journals as data collection tools. Data analysis was conducted using Bingham and Witkowsky’s (2023) Five-Phase Process of Qualitative Data Analysis with the aid of a software for qualitative data analysis. Data credibility was ensured through cross-verification. Main Findings: Social Studies educators struggled with poor time management and job priorities which led to limited preparation time while inadequate rest and exam policy awareness contributed to poor performance. The struggles contributed to unfavorable outcomes in the initial attempts at passing the LET. Novelty/Originality of this study: Existing research highlights the importance of passing the LET for career advancement and teaching quality, yet few studies examine the challenges affecting Social Studies educators. Addressing the gap, this study provides a deeper understanding of the challenges these educators face offering implications to improve LET preparation strategies and contribute to teacher certification research and professional development.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study examines the intersection of flexible learning strategies, psychological well-being, and academic success among drafting students, a group that has received limited attention in existing academic literature. The research aims to uncover how flexible learning techniques impact students’ mental health and academic performance, providing insights that inform innovative teacher training programs and instructional approaches tailored to this unique demographic. Methodology: A descriptive research design was employed, using purposive sampling to select participants. Data were collected through survey questionnaires, and statistical analysis was conducted using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The study focused on drafting students aged 18 to 23, many of whom come from financially struggling backgrounds. Participants primarily accessed learning materials through mobile devices and laptops using mobile data or Wi-Fi, engaging in both asynchronous and synchronous learning formats. Main Findings: The study found that students in flexible learning environments demonstrated high psychological well-being and strong academic performance. Interestingly, demographic factors, socio-economic status, and device type did not significantly impact academic success. Instead, age and internet connectivity quality played a critical role in student achievement. Novelty/Originality of the Study: This research provides a novel perspective on the relationship between flexible learning and student well-being in technical education, particularly among drafting students. The findings emphasize the need for equitable digital access and highlight the importance of personalized learning models. Future research should explore learning environments, teacher-student interactions, and digital resource accessibility to further enhance student outcomes.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study aims to analyze the effects of interpersonal communication, innovative behavior, and self-determination on teachers' performance at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Medan City. Methodology: The research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Medan, with teachers as participants. A quantitative research design was applied using a simple random sampling technique based on the Slovin formula. Main Findings: The findings indicate that interpersonal communication, innovative behavior, and self-determination directly and indirectly impact teacher performance. These factors significantly enhance the teaching quality in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Medan City. The study underscores the importance of fostering effective interpersonal communication, encouraging innovative behavior, and promoting self-determination to improve teacher performance. Although the study identifies key factors influencing performance, it also acknowledges that other variables might contribute to teacher effectiveness, which were not explored in this research. Novelty/Originality of the Study: This research offers insights into how interpersonal communication, innovative behavior, and self-determination shape teacher performance, specifically within Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Medan. These factors have not been extensively studied in this setting, making this research an essential addition to the field. The study highlights the importance of developing strategies that improve communication, foster innovation, and enhance teacher autonomy to boost teacher performance and educational outcomes.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: Mathematical problem-solving ability is a crucial skill influenced by various factors, including personality types. This study aims to analyze students' mathematical problem-solving abilities based on extrovert and introvert personality types in the MBTI framework. Methodology: This research was descriptive qualitative research. Data were collected through an MBTI questionnaire to determine students' personality types and a mathematical problem-solving test to assess their abilities. The participants consisted of 11 undergraduate students from the Mathematics Education Department at Institut Agama Islam Negeri Kerinci, who were enrolled in the Mathematical Statistics course. Main Findings: Extroverted students tend to excel in understanding problems and planning solutions; however, they are more likely to overlook careful execution. In contrast, introverted students struggle with planning and do not always review the solutions they have produced. It can be concluded that extroverted students have better mathematical problem-solving abilities than introverted students in the mathematical statistics course. These results highlight the role of personality in cognitive strategies and error patterns during problem-solving. Tailored instructional approaches could help both extroverted and introverted students optimize their problem-solving abilities. The small sample size and single-institution context may limit the generalizability of these findings. Future research is recommended to expand on these insights. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study fills the gap by conducting an in-depth analysis of specific problem-solving behaviors, cognitive strategies, and error tendencies associated with extroverted and introverted students based on the MBTI framework, thereby offering a richer understanding of how personality types affect problem-solving ability.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: The study focuses on three key variables: visionary leadership of madrasah principals, managerial ability, and job satisfaction. These variables are explored as internal and institutional factors that shape the meaning of educational quality and directly impact teacher performance. The research aims to determine which of these factors plays the most significant role in enhancing the effectiveness and productivity of certified teachers within the context of Islamic educational institutions. Methodology: This research employs a quantitative survey method to measure respondents’ perceptions and attitudes. It is categorized as confirmatory research, validating existing theoretical models by identifying the most influential variables affecting teacher performance. Additionally, it uses a correlational approach to measure the strength and direction of the relationships between the selected variables and teacher outcomes. A total of 242 respondents were selected using random sampling, and data were analyzed using path analysis to explore both direct and indirect effects. Main Findings: The study reveals that visionary leadership, managerial competence, and job satisfaction all exert significant direct effects on teacher performance. Among them, visionary leadership is identified as the most dominant contributor. Novelty/Originality of the Study: The novelty lies in the simultaneous and integrative investigation of leadership, managerial skills, and job satisfaction within a specific regional and institutional context. Unlike prior studies that often analyze these factors in isolation, this research offers a comprehensive causal model tailored to Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri, filling a gap in the literature on Islamic school leadership and performance enhancement.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study aims to analyze the causal relationship between the leadership of madrasah heads, organizational culture, and the provision of rewards on the work motivation and performance of certified teachers in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) in Bireuen Regency. In particular, it seeks to uncover both the direct and indirect effects of these organizational factors on teacher performance through the mediating role of work motivation. Methodology: The research adopts an ex post facto design and employs exploratory quantitative analysis. A sample of 242 certified teachers was selected using random sampling, with a significance level of 0.05. Data were analyzed using path analysis to identify the magnitude and direction of influence among the variables. Main Findings: The findings reveal that the leadership of the madrasah head, organizational culture, and the provision of rewards each have a significant total effect both directly and indirectly on teacher performance. Leadership influences performance through motivational pathways, while organizational culture and reward systems serve as structural supports that reinforce professional commitment and productivity. Novelty/Originality of this Study: Unlike previous studies that often isolate one or two variables, this research presents a comprehensive and integrative model that simultaneously evaluates multiple external (leadership, culture, rewards) and internal (motivation) factors. Conducted in a unique institutional and geographic context public Islamic elementary schools in Bireuen Regency this study contributes novel empirical evidence relevant to performance improvement strategies in faith-based educational environments, especially in the post-certification era of Indonesian teacher reform.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study explores the strategic role of the tourism sector in reducing poverty and unemployment through local economic empowerment, particularly in underdeveloped and border regions of Indonesia. It underscores the importance of a multi-stakeholder collaboration—involving government, private sector, and communities—to address regional disparities, promote inclusive growth, and ensure long-term socio-economic sustainability. Methodology: The research adopts a descriptive-analytic method utilizing secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Ministry of Finance, and relevant literature. Through comparative data analysis and trend observation, the study evaluates the tourism sector’s impact on socio-economic indicators. Main Findings: The findings reveal that the tourism sector significantly contributes to poverty alleviation and employment creation, particularly through the development of nature- and culture-based tourism. A reduction in poverty from 9.71% in 2021 to 9.54% in 2022 suggests that empowerment initiatives are having a positive impact. However, regional disparities remain prominent, especially in Maluku and Papua, indicating the need for region-specific policies. The synergy among stakeholders plays a crucial role in fostering inclusive and sustainable growth. Novelty/Originality of the Study: This research offers a novel integrative framework positioning tourism not only as an economic driver but also as a tool for inclusive development, cultural preservation, and environmental sustainability. Unlike conventional studies focusing solely on economic growth, this study emphasizes the transformative power of tourism as a pillar of resilience-building and long-term poverty reduction in marginalized and remote areas, making it a critical component of national development policy.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study aims to investigate teachers’ perceptions of the application of the Problem-Based Learning model and the Scaffolding approach in supporting independent learning at Junior high school 1 Muaro Jambi. Understanding teacher responses is critical to optimizing instructional strategies aligned with the goals of the independent learning. Methodology: A descriptive quantitative research design was employed. The population consisted of all teachers at Junior high school 1 Muaro Jambi, with a sample of 19 respondents selected through a random sampling technique. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistical methods to interpret the level of teacher response to both learning models. Main Findings: The results show that teachers expressed a positive response, with an average approval rating of 79.8% towards the implementation of both the Problem-Based Learning and Scaffolding models in promoting independent learning. Teachers acknowledged that these models enhanced student engagement, critical thinking skills, and autonomy in the learning process, although some highlighted the need for further training and resource support to maximize implementation. Novelty/Originality of this Study: This research offers a novelty contribution by providing empirical insights into teacher perceptions of combining PBL and Scaffolding approaches specifically within the framework of independent learning initiatives. Unlike previous studies that often focus solely on student outcomes, this study emphasizes the teacher’s role as a mediator in implementing innovative pedagogical models. The findings serve as a foundation for developing targeted professional development programs that empower teachers to foster more autonomous and student-centered classrooms.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to develop a valid, reliable, and culturally relevant evaluation instrument for assessing the pedagogical competencies of teacher candidates in the Professional Teacher Education Program (PPG) at the elementary school level, based on the Condition of Learning theory. Methodology: The study employed a quantitative approach with validation by six experts and field testing involving 100 teacher candidates. Data analysis included Cronbach's Alpha for reliability measurement. The instrument design adhered to Condition of Learning principles, integrating cultural relevance and pedagogical evaluation. Main Findings: Validation scores ranged from 4.3 to 5.0 across aspects, with a reliability score of 0.72 (Cronbach's Alpha). Evaluation results showed mean scores of 85.05 for cognitive, 80.07 for affective, and 81.14 for psychomotor competencies, indicating strong preparedness among teacher candidates. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study integrates Condition of Learning principles with cultural elements, creating a comprehensive evaluation instrument that reflects Indonesia's educational context. It provides a significant tool for improving pedagogical assessments and aligns evaluation with local values and national education standards. This research has an impact on the creation of more effective and relevant evaluation instruments, so that it can improve the quality of professional education of elementary school teachers through the application of learning conditions theory.
