Abstract

This study aims to analyse the role of confidence in financial management as a mediator between personal finance management, banking knowledge, attitude towards debt, and financial compliance among Indonesian adults. The research method used was a quantitative survey with a cross-sectional approach, involving 170 respondents selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analysed using Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that confidence in financial management significantly mediated the relationship between personal financial management and financial compliance, but no significant mediating effect was found on the banking knowledge pathway. A positive attitude towards debt also showed a marginal mediating effect through self-confidence. These findings emphasise the importance of financial education interventions that focus not only on the knowledge aspect but also on strengthening confidence and positive attitudes in financial management.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate how competence, motivation, and social support impact the entrepreneurial intention of students who participate in the Management study program. The background of this research is based on the importance of understanding the components that encourage students to be entrepreneurial in the midst of economic challenges and increasingly fierce job competition. A quantitative method was used to collect data, with questionnaires distributed to 53 respondents. Validity, reliability, and multiple linear regression tests were performed on the data for analysis. The results of the study show that three independent variables of competence, motivation, and social support have a significant effect on entrepreneurial intention. Motivation, among the three, is the factor that most influences the desire of students to start a business. These three variables can account for 62.1% of the variation in entrepreneurial intention, according to the determination coefficient value (R2) of 0.621. These results are in line with the Theory of Planned Behavior, which says that attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived control of behavior affect intention. The development of entrepreneurial education policies that focus on good competencies, great encouragement, and a supportive social environment is part of this research.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of Work-Life Balance (WLB), organisational culture, and work motivation on employee performance with job satisfaction as an intervening variable. The study was conducted on millennial employees in the local government of Pangkalpinang City, involving 104 respondents selected through a purposive sampling technique based on the criteria of having a minimum work period of one year, having permanent employee status, and being active in organisational activities. Using a quantitative approach with structural equation model analysis, the results showed that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, while WLB and organisational culture have a positive but insignificant effect. This finding indicates that intrinsic factors, such as work motivation, play a more dominant role in shaping employee job satisfaction than external factors such as WLB and organisational culture. However, these three variables did not show a significant indirect effect on performance through job satisfaction. The practical implications of this study emphasise the importance of increasing work motivation through the development of reward and career systems, as well as the need to strengthen organisational culture and implement more effective WLB policies to create job satisfaction, which in turn can improve employee performance.

Abstract

Reducing stunting rates is one of the national development priorities outlined in the 2020–2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) as part of efforts to develop high-quality human resources. This study aims to analyze the effect of government spending on stunting prevalence across 34 provinces in Indonesia during the 2021–2023 period. The independent variables analyzed include the Physical Special Allocation Fund for Stunting (DAK Fisik Stunting), the Non-Physical Special Allocation Fund for Stunting (DAK Non Fisik Stunting), and Village Funds. The intervening variables consist of access to proper sanitation and access to basic health facilities (AFKD), while the dependent variable is stunting prevalence. The method used is Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), with the aid of the WarpPLS 8.0 software. The results show that the Physical DAK for Stunting has a significant negative effect on sanitation (β = -0.46; p < 0.01) and indirectly reduces stunting prevalence. The Non-Physical DAK has a positive effect on sanitation (β = 0.17; p < 0.04) and a direct negative effect on stunting (β = -0.31; p < 0.01). Village Funds significantly affect AFKD (β = -0.53; p < 0.01), which in turn has a significant impact on reducing stunting (β = -0.21; p < 0.02). This model is able to explain 69% of the variation in stunting prevalence (R² = 0.69). These findings provide important implications for results-based budgeting policies aimed at accelerating stunting reduction efforts.

Abstract

This study examines the validity of the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) theory which is the basis for the relationship between currency exchange rates and differences in price levels between countries. The research innovation lies in the differentiation of inflation variables into two main components, namely Inflation GDP deflator and Inflation consumer prices, as an improvement on previous studies. The analysis was conducted by making the rupiah exchange rate a dependent variable influenced by several key variables based on the PPP theory, including Inflation GDP deflator, Inflation consumer prices, Real interest rate, and Broad money growth. The econometric approach using the VECM (Vector Error Correction Model) model reveals important findings where all independent variables show a significant influence in the long term, while only Inflation consumer prices have an effect in the short term. These findings not only confirm the limitations of the PPP theory in explaining short-term exchange rate dynamics but also provide empirical evidence of the complex exchange rate adjustment mechanism in the Indonesian economy, where structural and non-economic factors play an important role in addition to conventional economic variables.

Abstract

This article examines Indonesia's maritime security strategy in the Malacca Strait through cooperation with littoral states (Indonesia-Malaysia-Singapore) during President Joko Widodo's first term (2014-2019). Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study analyzes Indonesia's implementation of maritime security based on Christian Bueger's Security Practice framework with five key components: Maritime Domain Awareness, Sea Operation, Law Enforcement, Coordination Among Multiple Actors, and Maritime Diplomacy and Capacity Building. The research reveals significant progress in Indonesia's maritime security capabilities, particularly through the establishment of Badan Keamanan Laut (Bakamla), improved maritime domain awareness, and increased sea operations. However, challenges remain, including technological limitations, budget constraints, fragmented coordination among national maritime agencies, and capability gaps compared to Malaysia and Singapore. Despite these challenges, Indonesia's Global Maritime Fulcrum vision provided strategic momentum for strengthening maritime security in the Malacca Strait, contributing to reduced maritime incidents in the region.

Abstract

The objective of the study is to evaluate the financial health level of Regional Development Banks (BPD) in the Sulawesi region during the 2019–2023 period. The study uses a financial institution health assessment approach. This assessment is needed to assess the feasibility and stability of banks in carrying out their financial intermediation functions. The quantitative descriptive system used uses data from the annual financial reports of Bank Sulselbar, Bank Sulutgo, Bank Sulteng, and Bank Sultra. The results of the analysis state that all financial institutions have an impressive level of health because the aspects of Capital (CAR) and Income (ROA, NIM), but several banks are in the unhealthy category related to the Risk Profile, especially in the comparison of Loans to Third Party Funds. In a situation of Good corporate leadership, it shows that all banks are considered healthy based on their independent assessments, although some are still quite healthy in terms of Return on Equity (ROE). Overall, this study indicates that the majority of BPDs in Sulawesi describe positive financial capabilities so that they are able to maintain operational stability, although there are several indicators that need to be improved. It is hoped that these findings can help policy makers, bank management, and further researchers in evaluating and improving the financial performance of banking in the region.
