Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SMK yang diakibatkan oleh terbatasnya kesempatan siswa untuk menghadirkan representasinya sendiri. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari pembelajaran yang diikuti siswa yang umumnya masih konvensional. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji, mendeskripsikan, dan menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SMK melalui pembelajaran Inquiry Training Model. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMK N Rajapolah tahun pelajaran 2017/2018, sedangkan sampel penelitian terdiri dari siswa kelas X Jurusan Teknik Kendaraan Ringan dan Otomotif-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen, dan dari siswa kelas X Jurusan Teknik Kendaraan Ringan dan Otomotif-2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Unit penelitian pada tiap kelas penelitian dikelompokkan berdasarkan kemampuan awal matematis (KAM) siswa, meliputi: KAM kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran Inquiry Training Model lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional. Di samping itu, terdapat perbedaan peningkatan representasi matematis yang signifikan antara siswa yang memiliki KAM tinggi, KAM sedang, dan KAM rendah. Selain itu, tidak terdapat pengaruh interaksi yang signifikan antara faktor KAM dan pembelajaran terhadap peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SMK.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Bandung Regency is one of the regencies in Indonesia where people have high dynamics and mobility. This is marked by the number of developments in various fields. Along with that, increasing population pressure on the environment and of course this situation creates opportunities to increase damage to the environment and the emergence of environmental problems and environmental quality degradation. One of the first steps of the Bandung Regency government is to start making efforts to save the environment. As for the government's efforts in realizing the attitude of caring for the environment by issuing Regulation No. 78 of 2015 concerning the Citarum Movement clean, healthy, beautiful and sustainable. The implementation of the Governor Regulation No. 78 of 2015 is the creation of theEco-Village Village program. District Government Regulations that require the role of students to take part in this program are supported by existing material, namely by the addition of Local Content Materials. Thus, students are expected to play an active role in protecting the environment. This concept can be used as an alternative source of learning in geography subjects in class XI IPS, because in its discussion of the attitude of love for the environment and assessment as well as ways to preserve, control and preserve the environment are discussed in this chapter. The research method, which is used is a qualitative research method with the approach of literature study, comparative study, and object observation. Then combining them with practical activities in adjusting material about the chapter on the love of environment, the analysis in this study was done by comparing the results of observations of objects with literature studies. The results achieved in this study prove that to regulate slum areas can be done by rejuvenation of settlements, through the application of fivecharacteristic concepts ecovillage, so that it is expected to produce settlements that are sustainable and ecological. From the results of the discussion it will be seen that by learning the practices of material suitability and applicability it will be seen in the field. Keywords: Learning Resources, Slums,Ecovillage

Abstract

Guru sebagai komponen penting dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar, memiliki posisi yang sangat menentukan keberhasilan pembelajaran. Profesi menjadi seorang guru tidaklah mudah. Guru harus memiliki empat kompetensi penting diantara lain: kompetensi pedagogik, profesional, sosial, dan kepribadian. Pentingnya kompetensi pedagogik menentukan pada implikasi pembelajaran di dalam kelas. Dalam impilkasinya, guru dituntut mampu menerapkan kompetensi pedagogik dalam merancang, mengelola, melaksanakan, dan juga mengevaluasi pembelajaran. Faktanya banyak guru yang masih kurang memahami pentingnya ilmu pedagogik dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Terkait hal itu, ilmu pedagogik sangatlah penting untuk dipahami seorang guru karena ilmu pedagogik dapat membantu guru untuk lebih mudah memahami ilmu mendidik. Guru yang mampu memahami ilmu pedagogik dan mampu mengaplikasikan ilmunya dapat dengan mudah memberikan kontribusi yang baik dan efektif dalam dunia pendidikan baik secara teori maupun praktik. Dalam merencanakan pembelajaran, guru harus memahami beberapa komponen seperti tujuan pembelajaran, materi pembelajaran, proses pembelajaran, dan memiliki alat ukur evaluasi pembelajaran. Dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran pun guru harus memiliki kepekaan terhadap situasi pendidikan yang akan dihadapi seperti guru, siswa, kurikulum, dan lingkungan. Guru harus memahami keempat situasi pendidikan sehingga proses pembelajaran dapat mencapai tujuan yang diharapkan.

Abstract

The 21st-century education insists students to be ready to face global challenges with some skills, such as collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and literacy. Despite a multitude of suggestions gained from several studies, the lack of understanding or compromise on the best approach to involve students’ thinking skills is a major concern. Therefore, this paper presents the research findings on teacher’s metacognition in promoting EFL young learners’ critical thinking skills. A case study was employed involving one class of fifth-grade students with one English teacher and three instruments to collect data namely classroom observation, interview with the teacher and document analysis. The collected data were analysed by referring to the theory of teachers’ metacognition and critical thinking skills. The findings reveal that the teacher applied three types of metacognitive knowledge, such as person, task, and strategies as identified from her metacognitive strategies, such as planning, monitoring, and evaluating the learning strategies. It is supported by the teacher’s statement who claimed that metacognition plays an important role to promote students ‘critical thinking because it guides herself through what, why, and how the students’ learning based on their needs and characteristics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena rendahnya prestasi belajar peserta didik kelas V di SD Negeri 13 Regol yaitu sebanyak 43% siswa nilainya masih berada di bawah kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM). Prestasi belajar merupakan hasil interaksi antara berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi salah satunya adalah motivasi berprestasi. Motivasi berprestasi memberikan andil untuk meraih prestasi belajar yang optimal. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara motivasi berprestasi dan prestasi belajar berdasarkan urutan kelahiran. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif korelasional yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan prediktif dengan menggunakan teknik korelasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan angket motivasi berprestasi. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri 13 Regol tahun ajaran 2019/2020 yang berjumlah 50 orang dan terdiri atas 4 urutan kelahiran yaitu anak sulung, tengah, bungsu dan tunggal. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik  korelasional. Adapun temuan penelitian yaitu: 1) motivasi berprestasi anak sulung, anak tengah dan anak tunggal berada pada kategori sedang, 2) prestasi belajar anak sulung, tengah, bungsu dan tunggal berada pada kategori sangat baik, 3) tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi berprestasi  dengan prestasi belajar berdasarkan urutan kelahiran.

Abstract

Environmental quality is one of the important issues in achieving the results of national development. One of the results of development is an increase in economic capacity marked by an increase in income per capita. This will be directly proportional to the increase in ownership of tertiary consumption goods, one of which includes vehicles.The quality of vehicle engines using fossil fuels (fossil combustion engines) does not always produce a number of environmentally friendly exhaust gas particles, one of which is caused by vehicle operational factors. Control of vehicle exhaust emissions is done through maintenance procedures of vehicle engines in the workshop (workshop) designated. In the vehicle maintenance procedure, there is a standard indicator of the amount of exhaust emissions which must be understood in accordance with certain vehicle specifications. The size and number of particles of the product of chemical reactions combustion air and fuel are analyzed.Human resources who are responsible technically and operationally in vehicle maintenance are mechanics (automobile technician). Vocational High Schools (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan/SMK) in Light Vehicle Engineering Skills Competencies as institutions that produce graduates as mid-level vehicle technicians, must be equipped with basic concepts of science in supporting the implementation of skills competency learning. Chemistry learning is one of the subjects directly related to the analysis of the results of combustion chemical reactions, in the subject matter of the procedure for testing exhaust emissions.Chemistry learning approach can help students in concluding the results of the analysis of parameters released from vehicle exhaust gases, through an emission test tool (Gas Analyzer). The results of the analysis lead to the exhaust emission test procedure, one of which is the CO concentration adjustment. There is a difference between students who understand the chemical equation of combustion reaction and those who do not understand the chemical equation of combustion reaction, the procedure of adjusting CO concentration and analysis of the causes of differences or problems with the standard CO concentration values.Chemistry learning approach in the process of learning periodic maintenance procedures, in this case the exhaust emissions test is carried out in theory and practicum classes in vehicle repair shops. The learning process in Classroom Action Research (CAR) applies the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The PBL model was chosen because: a) Students obtain basic knowledge (sciences) that is useful for solving engineering problems, b) Students learn actively and independently with a presentation of material that is integrated and relevant to actual reality, and c) Students are able think critically, and develop initiatives especially the ability to solve problems according to the way students think.This Classroom Action Research (CAR) applies the John Elliot model with 2 (two) cycles. Each cycle has four stages namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. If the goal has not been reached, then the next cycle is carried out with the same stages. Data on the results of research with PBL learning models were obtained from observations of the PBL learning process observation, tests to assess student learning outcomes, and interviews with students.PBL learning model in CAR can improve students' learning completeness, including the stages of problem solving. But there are exceptions in the checking stage of problem solving.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain The Pretest-Post-Test Two Treatment Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 16 atlet panahan pemula. Hasil analisis dan perhitungan data mengungkapkan bahwa model latihan PETTLEP Imagery dan relaksasi imagery memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap motivasi atlet dan hasil scoring. Akan tetapi, latihan PETTLEP imagery memberikan pengaruh yang lebih tinggi dan signifikan dari pada relaksasi imagery terhadap motivasi atlet dan hasil scoring atlet panahan pemula di ekstrakurikuler panahan prestasi Assakinah Archery.  Kata Kunci:  PETTLEP Imagery, Imagery, motivasi, skor, panahan

Abstract

To have a good skill at social participation and problem-solving, students need to embed critical thinking (CT) skills as early as possible. This study aims to explore critical thinking aspects manifested by secondary school students in writing one type of argumentative text, i.e. analytical exposition. Six eleventh-grade students and a teacher of a private school in one city of Indonesia participated in this study. Adapting Paul and Elder’s (2008), Ennis’s (1996), and Watson and Glaser’s (2009) frameworks, six students’ analytical exposition texts were analyzed to match CT elements, dispositions, and abilities. Moreover, six students and one teacher were also interviewed in responding to how adherent the CT disposition possessed by students. The findings indicated that only two texts manifested all aspects of CT, despite, still feebly. Those texts are categorized as dominant manifestation texts. Lack of providing reasons and evidence to strengthen arguments was the shortcoming of most writers. This research study contributes to students’ writing and thinking enhancement and to teachers in polishing the learning instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of investigation group learning model based on Marzano’s instructional framework in improving students’ higher order thinking skills. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental method with the matching only control group pretest-posttest design. Here, the data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and tests. The tests consisting of limited and extensive tests aim to analyze the effectiveness of the investigation group learning model based on Marzano’s instructional framework in improving students’ higher order thinking skills. The results showed that the majority of students (>75%) have an increased level of higher order thinking skills (critical and creative thinking skills). It was proved by the results of statistical analysis where the sig. value < 0.05 and ttable > tcount. Thus, H0 is rejected meaning that there is a significant difference on students’ higher order thinking skills before and after applying the investigation group learning model based on Marzano’s instructional framework in the teaching and learning process. Then, if it is classified, the improvement of students’ critical and creative thinking skills is included into the medium category. Hence, it can be concluded that the investigation group learning model based on Marzano’s instructional framework is effective in improving students’ higher order thinking skills in social studies learning.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini mengkaji kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika antara siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan scientific inquiry dan siswa yang pembelajarannya  menggunakan pendekatan teacher centered. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen, dengan populasi 146 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; 1) kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan scientific inquiry lebih baik  daripada siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan pendekatan teacher centered; 2) secara keseluruhan respon siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan pendekatan scientific inquiry menunjukkan sikap yang positif.  Hal ini diperoleh dari hasil angket dengan indikator : (a) keseriusan belajar dan kesukaan terhadap matematika. (b) kesukaan terhadap penggunaan pendekatan Scientific Inquiry dalam pembelajaran matematika. (c) kesungguhan dan kemampuan berpikir dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal pemecahan masalah Kata Kunci : Scientific Inquiry, Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika.
