Abstract

Digital transformation does not automatically improve the performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises because technology creates value only when business owners possess adequate managerial and digital capabilities. This study examines the effects of human resource competence and entrepreneurial motivation on digital business success and assesses the moderating role of digital literacy. A quantitative survey involved 120 owners or managers of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Makassar, South Sulawesi. Respondents were selected through purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. Human resource competence, entrepreneurial motivation, and digital literacy positively affected business success; digital literacy also strengthened both focal relationships, and the model explained 63.7% of the variance in business success. As an applied contribution, the findings are translated into an evidence-to-action framework specifying stakeholder co-design, pilot implementation, process evaluation, and outcome evaluation. These downstream phases are proposed from the survey evidence and are not presented as activities already implemented or evaluated.

Abstract

This qualitative single-case study examines the local governance of Indonesia’s Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program in Mudik Village through distributive, procedural, and social justice, interpreted using Al-Māwardī’s principles of al-‘adl, amanah, and maslahah. Data were obtained from five purposively selected informants, field observation, and local program documents during 15 Februari–30 Maret 2025. Data were analyzed through data reduction, thematic display, and interpretive comparison across sources and techniques. The available local record listed 171 recipients, comprising 152 toddlers and 19 breastfeeding mothers; however, it did not separately report pregnant women, and the village population figure in the draft was inconsistent. Informants described gaps in beneficiary updating, access to information, distribution timing, and the accessibility of centralized collection at the village hall. Recipient accounts indicated that the meals supported access to prepared food and could reduce food expenditure on distribution days, but the study did not measure nutritional outcomes, household economic impact, or program effectiveness. The study concludes that the local implementation shows administrative effort and perceived practical value, while fair implementation requires verifiable beneficiary data, accessible communication, correction and complaint mechanisms, and distribution arrangements responsive to recipient conditions. The findings are contextual because they are based on one village and five informants.

Abstract

Student elections may follow formal procedures while substantive competition is perceived as being shaped by organizational affiliation, senior networks, and unequal opportunities for deliberation. This qualitative single-case study examines this tension at the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Studies, UIN Sumatera Utara, through the Islamic political-ethical principles of musyawarah, al-'adl, amanah, and ukhuwah. Data were collected on 18–20 May 2026 through semi-structured interviews with six informants, observations of SEMAF and DEMAF election processes, and reviews of relevant organizational and electoral documents. Thematic analysis identified three patterns: affiliation networks were perceived to influence organizational choices and electoral support; limited cross-group communication was associated with personalized tension; and participants expected more transparent, equal, and accountable procedures. The findings do not establish electoral invalidity, coercion, preferential treatment, or abuse of power. Islamic political ethics is therefore used as an interpretive framework for a proposed governance pilot rather than as an intervention whose effectiveness has been tested. The study offers a context-specific diagnostic and practical agenda involving transparent rules, equal access to candidate forums, conflict-of-interest disclosure, neutral grievance mechanisms, and cross-group dialogue with measurable process indicators.

Abstract

Instagram is widely used to distribute educational information, including urban farming content. This cross-sectional study examined the association between perceived quality of educational content on the Instagram account @infarm.id and urban farming self-efficacy among urban Generation Z. A purposive online survey involved 120 respondents aged 18–29 years who lived in urban areas and had viewed @infarm.id educational content at least twice. The measurement and structural models were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling in SmartPLS 4. Perceived educational-content quality was positively associated with urban farming self-efficacy (β = 0.794; t = 22.843; p < 0.001; 95% CI [0.706, 0.849]), and the model explained 64.1% of the variance in self-efficacy. Because the design was cross-sectional, purposive, and based on self-reported perceptions collected at one time point, the findings indicate association rather than causal impact or actual adoption of urban farming.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of the #KaburAjaDulu hashtag on Generation Z's interest in working abroad and tests family communication as a moderating variable in Medan City. A quantitative cross-sectional survey involved 400 respondents aged 18–29 years who were familiar with the hashtag. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling, and data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 31. The #KaburAjaDulu hashtag had a positive and significant effect on interest in working abroad (t = 3.170; p = 0.002), while family communication also showed a positive and significant effect (t = 3.155; p = 0.002). The interaction between the hashtag and family communication was negative but not statistically significant (β = −0.011; t = −1.742; p = 0.082). Thus, family communication was not supported as a moderator. The findings indicate that digital narratives and family communication are independently associated with Generation Z's interest in overseas employment.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of work-life balance on personnel performance and tests perceived organizational support as a moderating variable among personnel of the Mobile Brigade Unit (Brimob), North Sumatra Regional Police. A quantitative explanatory design involved 232 respondents. Work-life balance and perceived organizational support were measured using questionnaire-based psychological scales, while performance data were obtained from official personnel records. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0. Work-life balance was positively associated with perceived organizational support (β = 0.527, t = 10.612, p < 0.001) and performance (β = 0.309, t = 4.154, p < 0.001). Perceived organizational support was also positively associated with performance (β = 0.347, t = 4.389, p < 0.001). The interaction effect was positive and significant (β = 0.117, t = 2.020, p = 0.044), indicating that organizational support strengthens the positive relationship between work-life balance and performance. The findings underscore the importance of workload management, recovery opportunities, supportive leadership, and personnel well-being in high-demand police work.

Abstract

Identifying high-achieving students requires a transparent and consistent assessment across academic and non-academic criteria. At SMK Swasta Siti Banun Sigambal, selection is still conducted manually and has not used explicit criterion weights. This study develops a web-based decision support system using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to rank 21 students based on academic performance, attendance, attitude, and participation, weighted 40%, 25%, 20%, and 15%, respectively. SAW normalizes benefit criteria, multiplies the normalized values by criterion weights, and sums them to obtain preference scores. Functional testing was conducted using eight Black Box Testing scenarios. The results ranked A19 first (1.00), A12 second (0.97), and A16 third (0.96), and all tested functions operated as expected. The system therefore provides a structured and reproducible ranking aid based on school-defined criteria and weights. However, the ranking remains dependent on the selected criteria and weights, and sensitivity analysis was not performed.
