Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a high level of vulnerability to natural disasters due to its geographical location and tropical climate. Aceh Province is among the regions prone to disasters, particularly floods that strike various districts almost every year. Aceh Singkil District is one of the areas with high risk, influenced by geographical factors, coastal conditions, and high rainfall. The high poverty rate and the prevalence of underdeveloped villages further increase community vulnerability to the impacts of flooding, especially during the post-disaster phase. In such conditions, the role of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) becomes crucial in providing rapid, accurate, and sustainable responses to restore community conditions. This study aims to analyze the responsiveness of BPBD Aceh Singkil in handling post-flood disasters, identify existing challenges, and offer recommendations for improving the quality of public services in the disaster management sector. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Research informants consist of BPBD officials and flood-affected community members. The analysis refers to the public service quality theory by Zeithaml, Parasuraman, and Berry, using five responsiveness indicators: service speed, proactive attitude, accuracy of targeting, transparency, and ease of access. Theoretically, this study is expected to enrich public administration discourse related to government institutional responsiveness. Practically, it provides evaluation and recommendations for BPBD Aceh Singkil to enhance the effectiveness of post-flood disaster management. Therefore, this study is expected to contribute to improving disaster governance that is more responsive and adaptive for communities in disaster prone areas.

Abstract

The Human Development Index (IPM) is an illustration of the development of human welfare in a country. Indonesia, which has 34 provinces and several provinces still have HDI levels, some are still below 70% and are in the moderate HDI category. This condition can be related to policies taken from a country both from the strategy of maintaining inflation, empowering zakat potential and maintaining poverty levels. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence, interaction and causality relationship between inflation, zakat potential, poverty level and human development index in provinces in Indonesia. The theory used in this study is related to macro variables such as inflation, zakat potential, poverty level and the Human Development Index. This research is a quantitative study using secondary data with a sampling technique with saturated sampling of 34 samples, and analyzed using the VAR method with computer program statistical toolsEviews 10. The research results show based on analysisVector Error Correction Model(VECM) Inflation has an effect of 27%, the potential for zakat has an effect of 0.002%, and the poverty rate has an influence of 10.4% Based on the analysisImpuls Response Function (IRF), The potential for zakat is the variable that has the highest response by other variables, then the response to the poverty rate and finally the inflation variable where the dynamic shock is stable between the 15th to the 20th year. Results of the analysisForcast error Variance Decomposition (FEVD) shows the potential for zakat and the poverty rate to be the variables that have the greatest contribution to other variables, namely 31.44% and 4,76%. The variable that has the lowest response and contribution to other variables is the inflation variable of 3.79% .

Abstract

Downy mildew, caused by oomycetes of the genus Peronosclerospora, is the most destructive biotic threat to maize cultivation in Indonesia, with the potential to cause up to 100% yield loss. Accurate species identification is crucial for determining effective control strategies. This study aimed to identify and characterize the Peronosclerospora spp. responsible for downy mildew in eight survey locations across Langkat and Simalungun Regencies, North Sumatra. The research involved field surveys and laboratory microscopic observations to analyze qualitative (morphological) and quantitative (morphometric) parameters. Identification results indicated that all pathogen isolates from the eight locations were Peronosclerospora maydis. Morphologically, the pathogen featured hyaline conidiophores that were clustered, with 2–4 dichotomous branches. Morphometrically, structural variations were observed, with conidiophore lengths ranging from 150–550 µm and conidial diameters between 17–23 x 27–39 µm. Conidia were predominantly spherical to subspherical with thin cell walls. These dimensional variations are suggested to be influenced by external factors such as local agroclimatic conditions and host genotypes. This study confirms that P. maydis remains the primary pathogen causing downy mildew in North Sumatra.

Abstract

In the era of increasingly intense business competition, companies are required to achieve superior operational performance in order to survive and remain competitive. Operational performance reflects a company’s ability to manage resources effectively to produce goods with high quality, timely delivery, and optimal cost. Several key factors that influence operational performance include inventory management, production lead time, and raw material quality. Poor inventory management can lead to excess stock, increased storage costs, or shortages of raw materials that disrupt production. Long production lead times may cause delivery delays, higher operational costs, and reduced customer satisfaction. In addition, low-quality raw materials can increase defect rates, rework, and waste, thereby reducing operational efficiency. This study aims to analyze the effect of inventory management, production lead time, and raw material quality on company operational performance using a quantitative approach. The research employs a causal associative design to examine the cause-and-effect relationships between the independent variables—inventory management (X1), production lead time (X2), and raw material quality (X3)—and the dependent variable, operational performance (Y). The population consists of employees directly involved in operational activities, including production, warehouse, and quality control departments. Data were collected through questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using SPSS software. Prior to hypothesis testing, validity and reliability tests as well as classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity) were conducted to ensure that the regression model met the BLUE criteria. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to test both partial and simultaneous effects. The results indicate that inventory management and raw material quality have a positive and significant effect on operational performance, while production lead time has a negative and significant effect. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly influence operational performance, with a coefficient of determination of 0.612. These findings suggest that companies should manage inventory effectively, shorten production lead times, and maintain high raw material quality to enhance operational performance. The study provides practical insights for management and serves as a reference for future research in operations management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of workplace spirituality, consisting of dimensions of meaningful work, sense of community, and alignment with organizational values, on employee work motivation. This study is motivated by the phenomenon of declining employee performance at Medan Area University in the 2016-2018 period, indicated by the results of internal audits, even though the institution has implemented quality management standards. This study uses a causal quantitative approach. The study population was all employees and permanent lecturers, with a sample of 220 respondents determined using purposive sampling techniques and the Slovin formula. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Multiple Linear Regression. The results show that the three dimensions of workplace spirituality have a positive and significant effect on work motivation, both partially and simultaneously. The dimension of "alignment with organizational values" was found to have the most dominant influence. The coefficient of determination (R2) value of 0.623 indicates that 62.3% of the variation in work motivation is influenced by workplace spirituality. The research implications suggest the need for a spiritual and religious values-based approach to enhance the meaning of work for employees.

Abstract

The 21st century has witnessed a radical transformation in human communication ecology, with social media evolving from mere connection platforms into a primary lifeworld for young people. Generation Z, growing up in an intrinsically digital environment, internalizes the logic, norms, and rhythms of social media into their identity construction. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to analyze 32 empirical studies (2019-2024) exploring the role of social media in shaping Christian character among Generation Z. The findings reveal a dual formative role: social media acts as a Curated Sanctuary, providing unprecedented access to spiritual resources, communities, and role models, while simultaneously functioning as an Algorithmic Arena that fosters performative piety, theological reduction, and value conflicts. In response, Generation Z demonstrates active agency through negotiation strategies like content curation, compartmentalization, and digital fasting, leading to the formation of a hybrid habitus. This review proposes a Critical Digital Discipleship Framework as an integrative model emphasizing theological digital literacy, intentional curation, and embodied integration to guide effective character formation in the digital age.
