Abstract

The internet of things (IoT) is connecting the devices and tools to the internet network to be controlled by websites and smart phone applications remotely, also, to control tools and instruments by codes and algorithms structures for artificial intelligence issues. In case we want to create advanced systems using python algorithms, Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection is connected to our tools, equipment, and devices controlling them by smart phone applications or internet websites. That’s actually the simplified definition of IoT. Farther than just using the IoT as a smart home to operate lamps or other home-use devices, it can be used as a security system or an industrial-use system, for example, to open or close the main building gate, to operate full automatic industrial machine, or even to control internet and communication ports. And more ideas can be done by using IoT technology. A huge industrial facilities or governmental institutions have much of lamps. Employees sometimes forget to turn them off in the end of the day. This research suggests a solution that can save energy by letting the security to control lighting of the building with his smart home by Blynk application. The lamps can be controlled by switches distributed in the building and Blynk application at the same time with a certain electrical installation. This research presents a simple prototype of smart home, or the easy way and low cost to control loads by Wi-Fi connection generally

Abstract

This meta-synthesis attempts to identify the stresses concerning college students' blended-learning environments and to synthesize the coping strategies they use to deal with stress in various cultural contexts. Out of 200 initial studies gathered using the Publish or Perish software, 50 articles were included. The selected studies were organized using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) flow diagram. Using Braun and Clarke’s six-step thematic analysis, the synthesized data were analyzed which have emerged three themes, namely: concerns, challenges, and coping mechanisms. Results indicated that students' stress levels, whether in a face-to-face or hybrid setting, negatively impacted their academic performance. The lack of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills, restricted computer access, and spending a lot of time on screen make students more anxious. The rapid transition from face-to-face involvement to a blended learning environment negatively influences their perception of their academic efforts. It is recommended that various actions should be considered to lessen students’ stress and enhance the online learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of learning media on social science learning achievement in elementary schools. The purpose of managing educational facilities and infrastructure is to regulate and maintain educational facilities and infrastructure so that they can provide the best and meaningful contribution to the educational process, especially in the learning of Social Sciences (IPS). This research was conducted at Parang 5 Magetan Public Elementary School, East Java Province. The research uses qualitative research methods with data collectors such as document analysis, literature studies, interviews and observations. The results showed that inadequate facilities and infrastructure also occurred at SDN Parang 5, Magetan Regency, East Java Province, not a problem with access to difficult places, but seen from the condition of the school which only had 6 classrooms, no laboratory space (0), only 1 library room, 0 practice room, 0 leadership room, 0 administration room, 0 counseling room, 0 student council room and 0 prayer room. With the data on infrastructure facilities, it greatly influences social science learning achievement which is still low achievements and resulted in the accreditation of SDN Parang 5 is B.

Abstract

The mining industry raises many environmental problems in the ecosystem, one of which is the emergence of acid mine drainage. Because of this issue, this study was conducted to see the performance of dolomite adsorbents in purifying acid mine drainage at iron ore mining in Aceh Besar, Indonesia. The adsorption of Cu2+ metal ions using dolomite adsorbents has the best equilibrium result at a contact time of 15 minutes, the efficiency at equilibrium reaches 92.97%, and the absorption capacity reaches 9.07 mg/g at an initial measured concentration of 19.5 mg/L with an adsorbent weight of 0.2 gr. On the other hand, Mn2+ has the best equilibrium in 30 minutes with an efficiency of 95.17% and an adsorption capacity of 0.92 mg/g at a measured concentration of 5.8 mg/L and an adsorbent weight of 0.6 gr. The obtained kinetic model is a pseudo second order.

Abstract

Employee harvest premiums are one approach for oil palm enterprises to boost production. Premiums are believed to strengthen human resources and motivate workers. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of harvest premiums on the performance and work satisfaction of harvest personnel at the research location. This study was carried out at PT Socpindo Seunagan in Nagan Raya Regency. The research site was chosen on purpose, and the sampling strategy used in this study was proportional stratified random sampling, with 38 samples drawn from each afdeling. According to the study's findings, the harvest premium has a meaningful impact on performance (work quantity, work quality, and work attendance) and employee job satisfaction at PT Socpindo Seunagan.

Abstract

Paddy field in Susoh District, Southwest Aceh Regency are very vulnerable to the impacts of climate change such as drought and floods which have caused the intensity of attacks by Paddy field Pest Organisms (OPT) decreased as it had in the previous growing season. Some farmers make mitigation efforts by spraying pesticides according to the recommendations of the local Plant Pest Organism Observer (POPT), but some other farmers do not carry out mitigation due to considerations of production costs that are quite large and ultimately affect the total revenue and income of farmers. This study aims to look at the differences in total production and average income between farmers who mitigate and farmers who do not mitigate pest attacks. The sample was divided into two categories, each category was taken by 28 farmer respondents randomly. The results of the independent test sample t-test on production obtained t-count (4.056) greater than t-table () while for income obtained t-count (4.056) greater than t-table (2.46) indicating there is a difference in production and average income between mitigating and non-mitigating farmers. Total GKP production obtained by mitigating farmers was an average of 2.608 tons and farmers who did not mitigate an average of 2.011 tons. The average income of farmers who mitigate pest attacks is IDR 4,821,834.79 per 0.4 hectare or IDR 12,054,600 per hectare, while farmers who do not mitigate pest attacks are IDR 2,888,103.86 per 0.4 hectare or IDR 7,220,260 per hectare per planting season.

Abstract

In the oil palm plantation business, harvesting labor is one of the key factors in the company's success in obtaining maximum production. This research was conducted to determine the effect of harvesting labor on oil palm FFB production. The results analyzed by multiple linear regression showed that the variables age, recent education, work experience, land conditions, harvest premiums, foreman attention, and road conditions had a positive effect on the FFB production of harvest labor. However, the variable family dependents and the distance between the house and the garden have a negative effect. Partially only the variables of age and work experience have a significant effect on the FFB production of harvest labor, but simultaneously all variables have a significant effect. Therefore, to increase the company's FFB production, in terms of harvesting workforce, companies need to pay attention to and maintain harvesting labor as an operational factor by increasing worker capacity.
