Abstract

From the above evidence in carrying out development, it can be concluded that Indonesian tourism in general and Bintan Island in particular has experienced There are indications of an imbalance of power relations between the countries of origin of tourists (developed countries) and developing countries as hosts. Tourist dissatisfaction is often seen as the fault of the host country. Like a new model of Imperialism (John A Hobson's Theory of Addiction). The imbalance in the inflow of various multinational companies into the development of Indonesia's tourism sector is flowing so swiftly. There are too many foreign investors so that Indonesia has been flooded with various international star hotel chains, from Jakarta to Irian Jaya. Meanwhile, national products have weak competitiveness. do not have high bargaining power, even in the domestic market causing a new model of Imperialism (John A Hobson's Dependency theory). The occurrence of damage to the environment and traditional culture. The relationship between hosts and tourists as guests, is more like slaves with their masters. The host, due to economic considerations, sacrifices everything for the satisfaction of his guests. (Theory of Sustainable Development). There are indications that tourism is a new/covert form of imperialism, there is dependence on the receiving country/region to comply with the wishes of tourists because they want to reach the international market/for economic benefits. Meanwhile, the host country is unable to compete in entering the international market mechanism. Governments and business people in countries/regions receiving tourists are subject to the interests of tourists, for the sake of foreign exchange. Various policies in the field of tourism and tourism products are designed to set aside people's rights.

Abstract

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) is a strategy commonly used by companies to achieve growth, expand market share, gain access to new technologies, and achieve competitive advantage. However, the M&A process does not always go according to plan and can present complex challenges. Many companies have failed in conducting mergers and acquisitions, which has an impact on organizational performance and shareholder value. Therefore, it is very important to understand the factors that influence the success and failure of this process, especially in the context of a telecommunications company such as PT Indosat Tbk (IOH). The literature shows that there are many factors that contribute to the success or failure of mergers and acquisitions. These factors include clear strategy and objectives, effective operational integration, management of organizational culture, strong leadership, effective change management, human resource management, and external factors such as market conditions and regulations. It is important for companies to carefully consider and manage these factors in their mergers and acquisitions processes. The case study of PT Indosat Tbk (IOH) is the focus of this research article. The company has experienced mergers and acquisitions in its history, namely with PT Hutchison 3 Indonesia (H3I) or Tri Indonesia. Therefore, analyzing the factors that influence the success and failure in PT Indosat Tbk (IOH) mergers and acquisitions can provide valuable insights for other companies planning M&A in the future. This study uses a qualitative approach by collecting data through relevant literature studies, financial reports, and company publications. The collected data is then analyzed systematically to identify the factors that influence the success and failure of mergers and acquisitions at PT Indosat Tbk (IOH). The findings of this study are expected to provide insight and better understanding of company performance and post-merger acquisition achievements, especially in the context of PT Indosat Tbk (IOH). With a better understanding, companies can take the right steps to increase the chances of success in the M&A process.

Abstract

The study attempts to explore the Arthashastra, an ancient Indian treatise on public finance, authored by Kautilya around 300 BCE during the Mauryan period. The Arthashastra covers a wide range of topics including administration, politics, ecology, and economics, providing insights into the economic and political conditions of that era. The treatise emphasises the importance of treasury management, revenue generation, and expenditure allocation for the well-being of the state and its citizens. It enumerates seven sources of revenue, including income from crown property, state-controlled activities, taxes, trade, fees and service charges, fines, and miscellaneous sources. The Mauryan state, guided by the principles of the Arthashastra, established a centralised and efficient administration with specific officials responsible for revenue collection and management. The study also explores the significance of fraud prevention, accounting, auditing, and budgeting in public finance. The Arthashastra serves as a valuable historical document, offering inspiration and guidance for modern public finance, emphasising the balance between state management and the welfare of the people.

Abstract

Alauddin Khilji, the ruler of the Delhi Sultanate in medieval India, faced numerous military challenges during his reign. These challenges included defending against Mongol invasions, suppressing internal rebellions, expanding the boundaries of the Sultanate, and overcoming logistical obstacles. To address these challenges, Khilji implemented significant military reforms, such as establishing a standing army, implementing strict disciplinary measures, introducing the branding system for horses, and constructing strategic forts. These reforms played a crucial role in consolidating his power, expanding the Sultanate's territory, ensuring the effectiveness of the armed forces, and strengthening the stability of the Delhi Sultanate. Khilji's military strategies and decisions, including his aggressive expansionist policy and emphasis on defense, intelligence gathering, and resource utilization, contributed to his military successes and reshaped the socio-political dynamics of the Sultanate.

Abstract

Social inequality is a pressing issue in India that disproportionately affects young individuals. This analysis explores the impact of social inequality on various domains, including education, employment, housing, health, and social inclusion. It highlights the challenges faced by young people in accessing quality education, securing stable employment, finding affordable housing, maintaining good health, and participating fully in society. However, youth-led organizations and activists have emerged as powerful agents of change in addressing these disparities. Youth-led interventions have focused on bridging the educational gap, promoting equal job opportunities, advocating for affordable housing, improving healthcare access, and championing social justice causes. These initiatives have demonstrated effectiveness in raising awareness, influencing policies, creating support networks, and mobilizing communities. However, challenges such as limited resources and contextual nuances must be considered when transferring successful models to different contexts. The long-term impact of youth empowerment in combating social inequality is significant. Youth involvement fosters leadership skills, active citizenship, and community engagement, creating a ripple effect of social change. Successful models developed in India can serve as valuable examples for other communities, emphasizing the universal nature of social inequality and the collaborative efforts required to address it. Sustained support for youth-led initiatives, recognition of their contributions, and the creation of inclusive environments are crucial for building a more equitable and just society. By harnessing the potential of youth, India can effectively combat social inequality and empower its young population to shape a brighter future for all.
